While staying at our property you can sit back and relax while watch the deer graze, play cornhole, or practice your disk golf putting. If you want to explore, we are 8 miles from downtown Salado where you can visit boutiques, art galleries, wineries, craft breweries, go for a picnic, sit in the spring fed creek, or eat delicious food at local restaurants. In the fall, winter, or early spring feel free to light a fire in our 8x5 foot heart shaped firepit (burn ban permitting).

My husband, dogs, and I stayed in The Hideout and it was the perfect cozy space with everything we needed. Communication was top notch and river access for fishing was a definite perk. We saw plenty of wildlife during our stay as well.

Loved how inviting the host was. She came early to feed the animals just to accommodate our schedule and allowed our girls the opportunity to meet animals and feed them. They even got to give them a sweet treat before we pulled out and enjoyed every second of it.

The setup was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed for a camping trip without the hassle of packing heavy gear. We went tent camping on Kegans land and had a great time. We loved the bridge and the sky full of stars. Campsites right by the river with firepits, grills, picnic tables and a bathroom with a shower. We were very happy.

Lost horizon was a great experience for us. I’m in my 40’s and we enjoy camping but I am not into communal living or multiple units close together. This offered the seclusion we wanted and a fair price. You will need a 4x4 vehicle or at least a full size suv to get down the last stretch of road to the sites. Everything else is just as noted on the site and within the website for the property. Don’t hesitate to book!

We had a wonderful time staying at Lost Horizon with our two pups! We enjoyed the quiet and serene surroundings, saw mule deer and antelopes, and felt 100% rejuvenated and recharged. Jeremy and Stacie were kind and communicative hosts. I would recommend Lost Horizon to anyone looking for a getaway from urban living.

We enjoyed our time at this spot. Leah was very hospitable and quick to answer any questions. Each camping spot is secluded and quiet with some nice waterfalls to explore. The water is clear enough to see the fish swimming around and you’re not very far from town if you forget supplies. The bathhouse is great to have on site after a long day. Will definitely return!

Weekend Trip to The Tailgate Ranch

First it is better looking in person. I loved the out building that we were able to use. There was indoor and outdoor shower which was nice. The cats stayed with us the entire time and escorted us around the property. I don’t really care for cats that much but those cats had me considering getting some. The camper had everything we needed. Thanks for the grill and checking to make sure we had clean towels. Beautiful place

1 night at Regency Bridge Park

This was such a peaceful spot to just relax and unwind. I got to dive into a good book, take a stroll with my dog, go watch the sunset and sunrise on the suspension bridge, and do a little grilling and marshmallow roasting. Gorgeous spot. Dogs aren’t allowed into the camper, so that was the only downfall- as I wasn’t aware of that until I got to the location and it was on a sign inside the camper. I have a Saint Bernard- so thankfully I put her in my jeep and kept the AC going- definitely advertise that for sure! Everything else was breathtaking, and it was so quiet. Bathrooms are directly beside the camper and close to all the other campsites- full shower with hot water, towels, soap, even a baby changing station if you need! I’ll let the pics do it justice!
