Enjoy the natural beauty surrounding this historic getaway - a 1000 acre working cattle and wildlife ranch in central Texas situated along a bend in the Colorado River. Entering the original ranch house built in 1913 is like stepping back in time. If you are interested in being out in nature, far away from crowds, this is your place. While Comfortably furnished with modern amenities, the house maintains the structure and rustic charm of the historic home. It has two bedrooms and one bathroom downstairs, and the upstairs is a non climate controlled bunk room with several twin beds. Enjoy the marked hiking trails, stargazing, a hike to the river for swimming or fishing, observing wildlife, exploring, or relaxing on the spacious wrap around porch.Enjoy the historic rustic home built in 1913. Swim or fish in the river, bring a kayak or canoe to paddle in the river, hike on any of the roads or marked hiking trails, or observe and photograph wildlife! You can often spot whitetail deer, turkey, different species of birds, rabbits, foxes and more! Keep your eyes open for Native American artifacts (but no digging please).

One of the coolest places we’ve ever stayed! Massive catfish in the river and lots of room to explore. The house is historic and super cozy! 10/10 would definitely recommend! Hosts were superb and were there anytime we needed them!

Everything was excellent. Really beautiful old home with comfortable beds on a large piece of land that’s easy to lose yourself on (in all the good ways). Owners stopped by to check on us a few times and were super kind. Highly recommend.

The ranch and historic house were beautiful and the hosts not only made sure we had everything we needed they also gave us a your if some of the many trails on the 1000 acres! We had somewhat stormy weather, we plan to come back again sometime when warmer and drier!

Amazing Family Memories!

Historic Texas Ranch
Our family had a WONDERFUL time on the ranch! We took our teenagers, younger kids, our Boston Terrier and our Yorkie, and all had a blast. The house is cozy and well appointed with plenty of space for everyone. The wrap around porch is so great for viewing the sunrise and sunset. The hosts are so gracious and generous, they let our kiddos visit the chickens, and guided us to the best places for fishing the river. Really glad we had our AWD with us! At night, there is virtually no light pollution, and we were able to see the milky way. The kids had a blast looking for arrowheads, wandering freely during the day, and roasting marshmallows at night. We would love to come back for a longer stay!
