Weekend Trip to Big City Little Farm

It was so cool!! The tent was enormous and more than enough space for 2 adults and 2 dogs. The accommodations were cute and cozy and Cherise was extremely responsive and welcoming :)

1 night at Circle C CampGrounds

Circle C CampGrounds was a convenient location for me to spend a night while hiking a short portion of the Lone Star Hiking Trail (LSHT) The campground is spacious and peaceful, and just steps away from the trail. I enjoyed the comforts available such as the lighted pavilion with sockets for charging my phone, potable water for drinking, and a flush toilet and outdoor shower. This campground is a nice option for folks who want to backpack but are not quite reading to rough it overnight at a primitive campsite along the trail. I had the entire place to myself on a Tuesday night in April. I did not meet Terry in person but we had great communication via the app and by text. I would stay here again, and would recommend it to others.

1 night at Magnolia Gardens Park

It was a little confusing as there was no designated Campspot. Just a lot of picnic tables. So we parked near one and set up camp with our RV for the night. We loved how private it was and quiet it was. Now that I understand how it works. I would definitely go back again.

Circle C was a great place to camp, I was very comfortable, I love that he provided firewood free of charge, Terry was very accommodating and helpful. the hiking trails next to the campground were really nice. the campground itself was kept up very nice as well as the bathroom, shower area, it was nice that there was available hot water and electric in the common area if I needed it.

We had a lovely relaxing weekend camping at Circle C! On arrival we were met by the owner Terry who showed us to our spot (4) in the corner and stopped for a chat. Very nice guy! The campsite was great, all sites nicely spaced out, firewood and fire pits provided. We enjoyed a days hiking on the various trails which pass the camp gate (including the Lone Star Hiking Trail). There is a pavilion with toilet, shower and cooking area available for use, it was always clean and well stocked with the needed. All in all a great trip, we will be back for sure- thanks Terry!

It was the perfect camp set up. A hill overlooking the river and nobody crowding your site. The Managers were sincere and friendly. Maria brought fresh coffee at 7 am and hung out with us. Real good people. Loved everything about it! Definitely coming back!

We loved our stay on Terry's land! It was such a beautiful area and had great amenities. The toilets are clean and there is a sink and picnic table area you can cook and clean up in. We enjoyed the hiking trails that were accessible right from the site. Terry was very accommodating and friendly. We will definitely be returning!

I am a 58 year old woman and stayed in the cabin alone for 3 nights. I loved my time there. Terry provided everything one would need for a stay including coffee, creamer and sugar! . But, he also went above and beyond paying attention to the smallest of details to create an amazing experience including leaving a walking stick by the door as there is direct access to the Lone Star Trail. I enjoyed a fire in the pit including the wood and starter. Terry checked in with me twice to make sure I had everything I needed. The cabin is spotless and beautiful adding to the vacation experience. I can’t wait to go back and bring my grandkids! Thank you Terry

This camp ground was great! We rented the house Thursday night to be close to the start of the LSHT. It was very clean and nice! Terry met us there to make sure we made it and show us around. Very nice and accommodating. He even had a couple chairs and a fire pit with wood in case we wanted it. We decided to get a a camping spot on the way by while on the trail 2 nights later. Perfect place and glad we pushed a little extra to make it there. The land is beautiful and well maintained. There was a fire pit at our site ready to go and wood stacked to use. The pavilion was great when a rain came. It had a clean bathroom, nice outdoor shower, kitchen area, plus a few extra things like horse shoes, and disc golf. He communicated very well, professional, nice, and I would 100% recommend using circle c campground!!!!!! We felt like we had a whole place to ourselves.

I loved camping on site #2. My girlfriend and I were the only tent and Terry had firewood, grills, and nice benches to sit at and eat s’mores. The outdoor shower was very lovely and the bathroom was super clean. It was a very quiet, cozy, and safe space with beautiful hiking trails, corn hole, disc golf, and horse shoes. I loved that I never felt like anything was missing and I would definitely camp here again!

Tired of the city ordinances that restricted raising fouls, I decided to look for an acreage that is not too far nor too close to the city and which allowed the raising of farm animals. As of this writing, we have 2 beautiful heifers, 18 sheep, and colorful giant kois in the pond that once in a while can be seen when they swim near the surface. We built a log cabin in the 17-acre property in preparation for downsizing when the boys go to to college. But when our neighbors had to move back to England, they sold us their house and 11-acre land. With the cabin on the 17-acre now vacant, we decided to open it for camping (on the land) or renting out the log cabin after building the 2-acre pond. Learn more about this land: Stay in the log cabin, or pitch a tent. Enjoy stargazing, or just enjoy the peace and quiet of the property. Pick wild grapes or wild blackberries (when in season) or spring wildflowers. Kayak or canoe in the pond. Bring your fishing gear and bait. Cabin use is free, but these are STRICT RULES. 1. No pets please, not even emotional support animals of any kind due to allergy in the family (we use the cabin when not booked). 2. No smoking inside the cabin 3. Do not use the bathroom towels for kitchen purposes or to wipe off dirt 4. Please no outdoor footwear indoors, but you are welcome to wear clean indoor footwear. Violation will result in forfeiture of the entire deposit 5. Cars MUST be parked on the rocked section, thus walking is necessary from this point. This is a 2-3 minute walk. The driveway might be dry but, no vehicles will be allowed past the rocked section due to unpredictability of weather. If it rains, vehicles will get stuck in the pasture. 6. Laurel Springs RV Resort is a new RV resort consisting of 226 RV pads in a gated, access-controlled community. The RV pads are diverse in size to serve even the longest buses. Every pad has full water and sewer connections along with hard-wired fiber internet and electric hookups. The drive lanes are 34 feet wide allowing for easy maneuvering. The resort consists of a Clubhouse located just south of the entrance and a smaller satellite building on the northern portion of the property. The two buildings combined total approximately 4,164 SF with an additional outdoor patio, kitchen, and fire pit wrapped around the Clubhouse. The Clubhouse features four individual restrooms with showers, an athletic club, an arcade, a business center, a lounge, a hospitality kitchen, and a laundry room. The top is transparent, so you can fall asleep wishing on a star. This dome is anchored to a sturdy wooden deck. There is a retractable awning that covers each dome reducing the green-house effect during the daytime and can be opened to reveal the beautiful skyline during the day or the wonderous starlit sky at night. Inside you’ll find a cozy king bed and a trundle that can comfortably sleep up to four guests. There is air conditioning and heating inside as well as a full private bathroom. The bathroom even has a clawfoot tub! Toiletries are provided for you during your stay. The dome is located in Sam Houston National Forest on a beautiful ranchette of almost 8 acres. On the ranchette you’ll be able to see chickens, turkeys (seasonal), goats, pigs, rabbits, and a garden near the home as well as livestock grazing in the pastures. Wildlife is present in the forest, so there are some food restrictions inside the dome to keep you safe. (See “rules to keep in mind”) A pathway that is clear during the day and perfectly lit for your convenience at night takes you directly to a fully equipped outdoor kitchen. There, you will have access to a BBQ pit, an outdoor pavilion, pool, hot tub, and pool house. If you’d like to have some fun, games like corn hole, oversized connect-four, chess, checkers, tic-tac-toe, hop-scotch, water volleyball, and horseshoes for you to enjoy. If you’d like to relax, kick back in a hammock and take a nap in the fresh breeze. The fire pit is open to all guests! Feel free to make s’mores, hot dogs, burgers, or whatever you’d like!
