Mariposa is a nonprofit land trust focused on sustainable development and community connection with nature. Founded in the 1990s, the land was originally a quarry used for caliche mining and soil grading. Today it offers a quiet place to camp, enjoy the wide views of the Texas Panhandle, and experience the peaceful open landscape.
Camping at Mariposa provides a simple outdoor experience with plenty of space and privacy. Visitors can enjoy beautiful sunsets, expansive plains views, and a unique landscape shaped by its quarry history.

We currently offer primitive camping for RVs, vans, self-contained rigs, and tent campers.
• There are no hookups available at this time.
• Primitive camping areas are spread out across the property for privacy and quiet.
• Guests are welcome to choose a comfortable area to set up within the designated camping space.

Mariposa is located within a gated community, and access to the property requires entry through the gate.
After booking, please call or text 806-759-1354 when you arrive, and someone will meet you at the gate and guide you into the camping area.

We stayed here for a week in our 44ft 5th wheel with our 2 boxers. The site is in a big open area near the owners shop, in a neighborhood. The full h/ups were great. The site is levelish on gravel. Lots of goat heads in the grass but the neighborhood was good for dog walking. The power hook up is on opposite side, so make sure your cord is long enough. The town is very close with essential stores & the next bigger town is 15 away. Communication with host is very good. The only suggestion I have is maybe a picnic table, something that won’t blow away. We would stay here again.

Loved the place a lot! It had such a welcoming atmosphere and it’s a very well taken care of park. Owner Makes sure that your stay is the best one possible and the restaurant on site has very reasonable prices on food so if your ever hungry I would recommend giving them a try. The place is also easy to get to and at night the stars are amazing to look at as well. This is certainly the number one place to call camp if you’re going to any of the state parks or just passing through for a night.

We are new to RVing and this camp really made us feel welcome and comfortable with RV life. The site was excellent, easy pull thru, and very well kept up. We were traveling with three dogs and we were very close to the pet area which was also very well kept up. All of the hookups were lighted making it much easier to hook up at night. Truly a cozy gem. The container had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The land is peaceful and beautiful, especially the sunsets, which were absolutely stunning. Having a food truck on site was a huge plus, and the food was delicious. The hosts were super attentive and made the experience seamless from start to finish. I’d definitely keep this place in mind for a future stay and would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area.
