This was my 5th or 6th trip out to the cabin and I plan on returning many times. John is a great host, the lake is really nice with great fishing and swimming, cabin is very stout with good options for cooking and there is also great BBQ nearby in Stephenville. Now, it is rustic and a little wild. If you are scared of spiders or the occasional watersnake, maybe it's not for you but you're missing out! Made lots of great memories out here, highly recommend.

Our family recently had the pleasure of staying at John's cabin, and it was the perfect get away for us. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with the peaceful sound of nature and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The cabin itself was clean, well-equipped, and well furnished, providing all the comforts of home while still maintaining that rustic charm.
We hiked around the property, fished in the lake, and sat around the fire pit at night.
John has beautiful land that feels far away from hustle and bustle of our day to day lives. We would highly recommend this stay for anyone looking to get away.

Group trip
This place was a great place to gather with our adult children. The cabin is rustic but comfortable with some great amenities and a beautiful view of the pond and ranch land. John is an exceptional host...very accessible and helpful! We loved the jeep ride and his horses, cows and dogs! We are already planning a return trip! Thank you John for a fun weekend!

Weekend Trip to JH Ranch-Haggard Lake
Our stay was so relaxing! We picked a perfect weekend to fish and kayak out on the lake. The cabin was perfect! John was accommodating to schedule, and even had a nice conversation with him while fishing. Hope to come back soon!
