Camp in the city! We're 2 miles from the middle of downtown Austin but have been pretending we're not for a long time. Do the city but retreat to a little oasis nestled under a giant Live Oak tree. A lot of care went into our little cabin complete with an outdoor shower under the Oak, everybody's favorite! The cabin features a queen bed and a full bed/couch, a kitchenette and more. Come stay in our sweet semi off grid cabin just between Austin and Marble Falls Tx. Near beautiful Lake Travis.
Upon arrival you can park in the flat dirt driveway in front of the boat. The trail up to the cabin begins right there.
There’s a short somewhat steep hike from the parking area by the road up to the cabin. Again the trail is steep and approximately 30 yards long. Keep this in mind because your belongings will have to be carried up the trail. If you have 4x4 you can drive up top closer to the cabin. This is a glamping experience and you will need sleeping pads, bags and pillows. We do not provide bedding. The cabin sleeps 4. 2 on the futon and 2 (preferably kids sized humans) up in the loft. There is electricity but no running water, so bring water. There a/c heat and a mini fridge/freezer. Also a sweet vintage hifi system with a good vinyl collection. It also had Bluetooth capability.
Turkey Bend recreation area on Lake Travis it’s just a couple of miles down the road. Marble Falls and Austin are both about the same distance away approximately 17 miles. Hidden Falls adventure Park is approximately 7 miles away. Lago Vista Texas is the closest city with restaurants and gas stations and grocery stores. This property is on a dirt road and light pollution in minimal so this is a great place to stargaze! The parking area is also dirt and somewhat uneven. Weekend Trip to Happy Hideaway - Near COTA
Cute area! We rented the Sunset Cabin for us to stay in while we went to the Sherwood Ren Faire for the weekend. The cabin had all the amenities we needed, but the showers were pretty cold at night (although that might just be the pipes being close to the ground surface). Hotter showers were possible during the day until someone else used the next-door shower or toilet.
Some things that couldn't be helped were the loud neighbors. We arrived late at night to hear a car nearby that was burning rubber for at least 10 minutes. Thankfully, the cabin was able to drown out the noise for the most part, but I felt bad for those who were using the lotus tent.
Keep in mind that at night it is *dark*, even with all the pathway lighting and string lights. It would be wise to use a flashlight when you're walking outside, as there are cacti throughout the area. It is also a little worrisome that the code to the cabin is simply 1234. I don't believe that any of the other campers would attempt to get inside, but a more complicated code would provide ease of mind.
Other than that, we had a great time and would be happy to stay there again!

What a peaceful, cozy, comfortable spot, with the kindest hosts. The cabin was perfectly appointed. I needed a place to rest and recharge and I got exactly that. The outdoor shower was the icing on the cake. Pretty much nothing better than being sheltered by a wise old oak tree as you wash off that road dirt. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to see the more peaceful and humane side of Austin!

What a wonderful property! We stayed in the Blue Loft Eco-cabin and loved it! Travis was super helpful with the instructions, accommodations and activities at Living Waters and nearby. Very friendly guests in neighboring lodges and peaceful river atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back!

4 nights at Happy Hideaway - Near COTA
Check in and out was very easy and simple. The bathhouse and showers were clean and taken care off. The cabin itself was clean and the mattress was so so comfy. After spending all day at ACL, that bed was like laying on a cloud.
