Suggestions:
1. Bug spray may be helpful.
2. Bring extra firewood if you plan to cook over the fire. There is plenty of pine if you would like to gather it yourself but very little hardwood downed. I will provide a few starter logs.
3. Bring water if you are opposed to drinking well water. There is an outdoor faucet close to the campsites for well water.
This is a bring in, take out experience...trash, towels, sanitary waste, etc. There is an additional $10 charge for leaving litter- this includes cigarettes.

Our family started vacationing in Tennessee years ago. From the very first time we stayed in mountains we knew we had to make it our home. After years of dreaming we took a huge leap of faith and sold our house in Illinois, packed up everything we owned into a moving truck, and headed south. No jobs, no plans, and everything we knew in the rearview mirror. We really enjoyed our time at Camp David! The Cumberland Plateau is a beautiful place and this property is a great home base for exploring—or just staying put and relaxing. It had all the amenities we needed to be comfortable while still "roughing it." It wasn't quite as private as we'd expected based on photos, but we enjoyed getting to know the hospitable hosts and really enjoyed our stay. Definitely recommend!

Weekend Trip to Camp David on Cumberland Plateau
We highly recommend staying here! Our original trip fell through so we booked this place at the very last second and Shannon was very accommodating. We stayed 2 nights. The tiny home was a perfect size for me, my husband, and our dog. There’d be room for probably 3 more people too if you wanted. It was our anniversary weekend so we wanted to go somewhere secluded so we didn’t have to deal with anyone else and so our dog could run around off leash and that is exactly what we got. It was very quiet, all you could hear was the creek running and the birds chirping. Our weekend was kind of rainy but the spacious covered back porch still made it an enjoyable weekend. We’ll be back for sure.
Side note if you love nature, we heard whip-poor-wills at night and saw turkeys in the morning.

We had an amazing time here at camp David. Shannon was extremely accommodating to me and my wife. If you love nature and being in a secluded spot this is it, I promise you won't be let down!
