Most of the roads are accessible in any small car, but some roads require 4x4 (they're marked with a sign). We have a bath house with toilets, showers, and sinks and even offer hot water! Our well and cabins are all solar-powered as we are not on the electric grid. The Property: Located north of Cookeville in the rolling hills and farmland, our property is on Spring Creek, a state scenic river. Situated between two waterfalls and featuring over half a mile of river frontage to explore. Float, fish and relax listening to the cascading water. Perfect for bird watchers- blue and green herons, ospreys, hawks, bald eagles and more. You may spot the creek critters- minks, beavers, and otters. Various types of bass, craw dad's and minnows are in the creek. We operate similar to a state park. We are open to the public from 10am-7pm, peak season. We have other listings that are spaced so each of our guests has privacy. Please see aerial photo for an overview. We sometimes have small events (birthday parties, ect) at the pavilion. Please feel free to message us first, if you would like to see if there are any events during your stay. There are 2 restrooms centrally located at the pavilion. One bathroom has a shower with hot water, soap, shampoo/conditioner included. The restrooms are shared with our other listings. There are USB and regular outlets in the pavilion and WiFi. During warm season the outdoor kitchen is available as well. We also rent out a Suite which is located above the pavilion. Quiet hours are 10pm-8am. Pets are welcome as long as they are leashed and picked up after. Please note there is a gun range 2 hollers away and depending on the season, it can be heard from our property. Tent in the Trees Listing: Your tent site is built above the trail and overlooking the creek. The tent is equipped with a queen bed, linens, extra blankets & essential cooking gear. The hike-in sites come with extra seating.  Every guest must be included on your reservation, and adult guests may be required to provide identification. Thank you! COMMUNITY COMFORT STATION: There is a comfort station with an outdoor shower stall for hanging your own solar shower bag. The comfort station also includes a changing room which doubles as a private place to use your portable camping toilet. A toilet seat and bucket system is provided but guests will need to use their own waste disposal bags, available at most camping supply stores. The backside of the comfort station has a rain barrel (not potable) collection system for extinguishing fires. OFF-ROAD CONDITIONS:  Due to the primitive nature of our location, all reservations should expect hilly terrain and potential bumpy or some muddy road access, especially after heavy rain. Vehicles with low ground clearance or low-profile tires are no longer permitted to use the off-road drive and must park at the entrance. I'll highlight one thru hike here since both trailheads are only 20 minutes away and is easy to coordinate with only 2 vehicles. It's a 10.2 mile hike that can be done in either direction and has a little something for everyone including a cave, boulder field, cascade and waterfall. Then you have massive Watts Bar Lake which is only 20 minutes away with a plethora of activities including the excursions we offer! We look forward to hosting you!

We updated the outdoor kitchen with a 3 burner propane stove, propane grill and hot running water with a 3 bay sink. Other cooking options include a tripod over the fire and a charcoal grill. A short 10-minute drive to fire tower rd. brings you to a 2 mile loop trail with 2 waterfalls, Upper and Lower Piney Falls. Ozone falls is just a 20 minute drive. Then toward Spring City is Stinging Fork Falls at 25 minutes. Black mountain is my new favorite place especially the south overlook! The Hiking possibilities are nearly endless and close. I'll highlight one thru hike here since both trailheads are only 20 minutes away and is easy to coordinate with only 2 vehicles. It's a 10.2 mile hike that can be done in either direction and has a little something for everyone including a cave, boulder field, cascade and waterfall. Then you have massive Watts Bar Lake which is only 20 minutes away with a plethora of activities including the excursions we offer! We look forward to hosting you!

Grant and his wife were wonderful hosts and offer several amenities that my girlfriend and I both said we’ll be back to enjoy someday. The glamp tent setup is truly breathtaking a great in between roughing it and glamorous camping. Grant took the time to make sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. For people thinking about this trip, I would say be sure to bring some steaks and charcoal to put on the rocket grill! It’s a really cool piece and cooks a steak to perfection. Other than that, flashlights are a plus as it gets dark early in the winter and there isn’t much lighting outside of the tent. Don’t forget to bring something fun to do around the campfire too since there’s a really cool Rock pit a couple steps outside the tent. S’mores, music, campfire songs, and games. You’ll want to find ways to be outside the tent if you’re like us. Speaking of, there are so many cool things to do outside of the camp! Grant gave us several awesome destinations to visit before we left and we got to each of them! All exceeded our expectations. From food, to sites, to sounds! I’d encourage everyone to explore Tracy city, Monteagle, and even Nashville is only an hour and a half away!

My boyfriend and I stayed for 2 nights on grants trampoline tent and it was such a different but beautiful experience, the tent area was very nicely set up, being able to hear the creek while going to sleep or just sitting by the fire was also very relaxing. Only downside was that it was extremely cold, I would highly recommend bringing an air mattress, sleeping bags, and lots of blankets to keep you warm. We went November 28th-30th. Grant and his wife were also out of town but they were still very helpful and sweet, they explained everything we needed to know about the area and gave us some trails to check out. Everything was beautiful and I highly recommend staying.

I loved my experience at the little barn house! The cabin itself was very cute, and the atmosphere was peaceful for a solo trip to escape city life. Jon was fabulous and incredibly helpful when I was needing some support. It was fun to have some animals nearby too, though hunting season is real, so something to keep in mind. Overall I am super grateful for my experience and would recommend it for anyone looking for a little getaway.

We only stayed one night at the tent but loved every minute! Grant called before we arrived to give us directions to the site so we would be prepared when we arrived in the dark. Everything was easy to find, just as he said. The trampoline was more comfortable than we expected! Bring extra towels in case of condensation. The area under the trampoline was perfect for food prep and hanging out. Above all, the waterfall was BEAUTIFUL! The short “hike” from the tent to the falls was easy for us and our German Shepherd to navigate. We had a wonderful time- can’t wait to return!
