Running Water Creek is a unique, fully off grid campground just 20 minutes to downtown Chattanooga. We have 80+ campsites spread out over 120 acres. Most of the roads are accessible in any small car, but some roads require 4x4 (they're marked with a sign). We have a bath house with toilets, showers, and sinks and even offer hot water! Our well and cabins are all solar-powered as we are not on the electric grid. When purchased the home was a small non descript cottage with a pole barn in the back field. It has grown to support grape, blackberry and muscedime vines.The original home has expanded through time and around 20 years ago, the pole barn was converted into a large 1200 square foot cabin with modern conveniences. My husband and I actually enjoyed living full time in the cabin for a period of 5 years before returning to reside in the main house. The cabin consists of 1 large common space room with sitting area and kitchen. The antique farm sink has hot and cold running water. Also available is a large refrigerator, toaster, microwave oven, hot plate, coffee pot and portable dishwasher. The antique Hoosier cabinet holds cooking utensils and silverware and located above the kitchen counter you will find plates, bowls, cups and glasses for your use. The water is well water, pure and delicious without chemicals. The cabin is equipped with a full size pool table for our guests enjoyment. The master bedroom offers a comfortable sleigh bed, full bathroom with shower and just outside the bedroom is a comfortable patio to enjoy, complete with table and chairs for two and outdoor fire place. Also available is a twin bed tucked in the corner of the area between the main room and bedroom. For guests wishing to continue their exercise routine, a modern treadmill is available as well. Walk the spacious well landscaped yard with multiple seating venues including a large hammock. For a quiet night of movie enjoyment, bring your favorite movies and make use of the DVD/VCR machine and wide screen television. This was my second time staying at William’s cabin. This unique HipCamp is my favorite. Peace, solitude and a warm wood stove on a freezing night! William is an extremely attentive host and an all around fascinating person. The cabin is so thoughtful and cozy. The craftsmanship and details are amazing. Weekend Trip to Peaceful Haven Cabin

We loved it! The cabin is cozy and cute! Plenty of hiking onsite and friendly dogs/cats to keep you company! Helga was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed. She gave great local recommendations and even had fire wood ready for us on arrival! This was great because it had rained the day prior and we had dry wood! The hiking on her property is beautiful. Plenty of rock formations and views. Thank you for a great stay!

Weekend Trip to Beech Hollow Hideout

This was a camping trip I'll never forget. William was such a kind and hospitable man, his property was nothing short of breathtaking. This place was a great escape from 9-5 city life and I can't wait to return. Don't ignore other reviews about how steep the small trek up to the shack is! It's a short walk but very steep and uneven/rocky ground. Make sure you wear good shoes/boots! Rocket and Bo 🐕 we're the sweetest dogs and great company when they weren't busy chasing squirrels. I very much enjoyed the hike along an old logging road on Will's land, about 1.5 miles and took me less than an hour at a slow pace, saw deer tracks and the deer that left them about half-way through. It was such a beautiful and peaceful hike; I wish I looped back around to make longer! There were no mosquitoes or ticks to be seen but be prepared for lots of Chinese lady beetles (look like lady bugs but are very invasive and annoying!) And stink bugs, if you come in the fall or spring. The shack had bedding, an amazing wood stove, cooking/art supplies, books and much more. Again, Will was so gracious and hospital. He checked in on me by msg in the mornings, showed me around his woodworking studio and informed me about his property and animals. His artwork is truly something else, the man is a real artist and beautiful soul. I bought a cutting board and Will picked me some greens from his garden before I left. I would highly recommend staying here and can't wait to return myself!

We had such a relaxing time! The cabin was perfect for the 5 of us and it had all the amenities we needed. We loved the lights around the campsite, and the kids took over the loft area in the cabin! Having a nice bathroom and the kitchen area just enhanced the stay! The highlight was enjoying the sweet kitties that spent time with us! It was a perfect little getaway!

Weekend Trip to Camp Chet

I love, love, love this place! It was so quiet and peaceful and beautiful! I will definitely be back for another visit! Owners were very nice and just wanted our stay to be perfect. Spent a lot of time swaying in the skychairs. I wanted to pack them up and take them with me! If your looking to unplug from the world for some peace of mind and spirituality, this is definitely it!

Weekend Trip to Beech Hollow Hideout

Wow! My boyfriend and I came out to William’s land after needing a break from living in the city. I’ve never done Hipcamp before so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was absolutely serene and the perfect reset. Our only regret is not staying more than one night to fully unplug. We will be back - and will pack MUCH lighter next time for the hike up the hill! Such a haven!

Overall, we really loved this cabin. There are a lot of cute touches with the art work and cat perches. It was well appointed for camping (glamping?) and had games, cooking pans, and lighter, etc. Cute and cozy.

Weekend Trip to Running Water Creek

First time camping ever and we were absolutely blessed by this site! It was such a wonderful way to ease ourselves into camping, everything was super accessible while still maintaining our privacy and allowing us to fend for ourselves just a bit lol I would recommend bringing extra blankets and pillows, thankfully we did and it made a world of a difference. Would so come back!

Weekend Trip to Cabin and Barn on 20 Peaceful Acres

A very comfortable camping set up. Quite a lot of space in the woods to ourselves and between outhouses, with a large clearing in the middle for kids to enjoy. Kitchen and dining area under the barn is very well equipped. I didn't need to bring any extra cooking or dining equipment. Took us a little time to figure out the hot water in the shower but it does make a difference when it's on. Lots of products and some toilet paper provided. The wooden cabin was a great set up for sleeping. Very well ventilated and little fairy lights for nice ambiance. We took our air mattresses and sheets and it was like a little camp hotel. There is a road nearby but it's completely silent at night and pretty quiet during the day too. Horses on the property make great scenery. All in all clean and well maintained. Would just recommend taking a bath mat for the shower floor and tea towels for the kitchen for maximum comfort. Host was very easy to contact at any point and very helpful.
