The Heart Center, a retreat for the mind, body and spirit, sits on 30 acres of beautiful forest land and it is surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest.
The place is an old school site that was literally left to be buried by the forest, until I came along and decided to fix it up, and create a holistic sanctuary
for people wishing to get away from it all. It is now a historic site and a place where one can heal, contemplate, re-energize, and relax in a quiet and pristine environment.
Feel secluded enough to experience your own inner stillness; and, yet, connected enough to enjoy many beautiful area attractions that are just minutes away such as: Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, Fontana Dam and the Appalachian Trail, 20 Mile Ranger Station, Cherohala Skyway, and Santeetlah Lake!

At the Heart Center, we take special interest in providing our guests with a uniquely peaceful, positive, comfortable, restorative and joyful experience!
Whether you are laying on a hammock, walking the labyrinth, or just sitting on the deck taking in the sights and sounds, we want you to enjoy.
We offer holistic energy healings, using various modalities such as Reiki and Non-dual Kabbalistic Healing. We also offer Life Coaching, Infrared Sauna, foot detoxification, and yoga, including asana exercises and meditation. Please speak with Liz to get additional information on this or to schedule a session. There are additional fees for these services.
Also, checkout the original gymnasium where there are hot showers, clean bathrooms, basketball or pickleball and ping pong. We also have a tennis court and The Sacred Choice Cafe, where you can enjoy a cup of tea, coffee, or snacks. You can sit and read for a while or check out our guest Peace and Oneness Book!

Our family started vacationing in Tennessee years ago. From the very first time we stayed in mountains we knew we had to make it our home. After years of dreaming we took a huge leap of faith and sold our house in Illinois, packed up everything we owned into a moving truck, and headed south. No jobs, no plans, and everything we knew in the rearview mirror. We landed in Knoxville for a bit while we figured out where we were going to work because paying bills is a necessary evil and started house hunting. We stumbled across this property totally on accident. Turns out it was exactly what we were looking for! My husband dreamed of living in a cabin and I dreamed of hosting guests. Here we have the best of both worlds!
We are travelers ourselves and have stayed in so many unique placed all over the country. Wanderers by heart we have met so many lovely people and are excited to meet like minded travelers <3 This property was slightly abused before we found it and is a work in progress but aren't we all that way? The previous owners harvested the trees so it is our goal to bring the property back to its original beauty. You will see us buzzing around planting trees, wildflowers, veggies, and fruit whenever time and weather allows. Located perfectly between Knoxville and Chattanooga this little cottage gives you access to everything the area has to offer. Weekend Trip to The Heart Center
My wife and I stayed in the yurt to get away from the noise and celebrate my birthday and the Heart Center truly delivered. The land and energy this place holds is incredible. Liz was a fantastic host and both my wife and I were able to have a reiki session with her while staying here. To stay it was transformational for both of us would be an understatement. Both of us learned so much from our sessions and left the Heart Center feeling lighter both physically & emotionally. We will definitely visit again in the future and Liz - thank you for what you do and putting together such an amazing place of healing and warmth admist the natural beauty of the area. Weekend Trip to The Heart Center
Everything in the description of this sacred space still didn't prepare me for the true beauty that's on this property. We were there during, suspected tornado activity, and the yurt kept us safe. I was amazed at how sturdy and resilient the yurt was. Liz is so kind, caring and considerate of her guests. I could not recommend this amazing place enough. I can't wait to go back.

We loved staying in Liz’s land, we were joined by another family with kids and had the most magical experience. Liz is a warm, thoughtful and amazing host. We booked the Yurts and they were pristine, comfortable and had basic needs for our trip. The gym was a nice bonus for everyone to have fun. Can’t say enough good things about our stay! We would love to come back !

This is a beautiful and serene camping spot. We stayed in one of the yurts, but the camping would have been fun too. The forest was full of spring flowers, and there is a beautiful short hike to a creek on the property. We have kids, and playing in the old school gymnasium was a big hit! We did do some nearby hiking, but our kids just wanted to go back to the Heart Center to play :).
I also appreciated access to the dining room area. Being able to use a microwave while camping makes it so much easier! And we appreciated the coffee and tea Liz had ready every morning. What a treat!
Liz was a wonderful host, and one of the best parts of our stay was getting to spend time with her. She is a kind and generous person!
