If you're looking to escape to the mountains, look no further! Wild Ridge Trail is a place where you can come to unwind, relax, and take in the fresh air of our N.C. mountains! We are located only 10/15 minutes from all of the exciting things Asheville has to offer and just as close to the charming small town of Black Mountain!
The cabin at wild ridge is OFF GRID (meaning no power or running water) but I promise, with our solar panels and rain collection system you won't miss being ON the grid at all! The cabin and the drive (or hike) up was designed for the adventurous at heart! So, drive on up if you have 4WD or AWD and if you don't, no worries! Just park in the designated space, grab your gear and hike on up! (The hike in is steep... about 300 ft but takes less than 5 minutes) We have a cooler up there for any perishables you may have, just bring ice :)
Please note: We have to close the outdoor heated shower during the cold winter months, however we provide an all season 5 gallon solar shower bag to use during this time. We also have a list at the cabin of other places nearby that provide hot showers in the winter months for a small fee.
In the rare event that heavy snow is expected, we will have to close the road leading up to the cabin because of its steepness. If this occurs, you will be given a full refund for the cancellation.
To heat the cabin, there is a un-vented wall mounted heater that heats the space really well! Since the cabin is insulated, the heater works quick to heat the small area up so you will stay nice and cozy!

Explore the innumerable trails and waterfalls of the Smokies; swim, canoe, kayak and fish in the Lake or numerous rivers and streams; swim at the sand beach down the road; rent a pontoon boat; enjoy the numerous nearby waterfalls; travel the Blue Ridge Parkway; enjoy the shopping and restaurants of nearby Cashiers and Highlands.
Or just hang out. This area is truly one of a kind spiritual respite far from the madding world.

Our villa and the property grounds were beautifully well maintained and set up! There is an attention to detail and care and so my family and I had a wonderful stay! It’s very close to town for purposes of dining and of course to the National Parks for all the adventure. The only and I mean only little meh is that the WiFi that’s supposed to be available is too weak to use and there’s very little cell service - it was not a dealbreaker for us cause that’s not what we were out there for, but just for a full FYI.

This cabin was perfect for a relaxing weekend away! My husband and I love camping, but we decided to try "glamping" this time, and I'm glad we did! It rained the whole weekend, but we stayed cozy and dry inside the cabin. It was fun being off-grid and relying on candles and the propane stove... it felt simple and peaceful. The cabin was stocked with everything we needed: dishes, pots and pans, matches, even some treats for our pup which was a sweet touch! Deserae was also super helpful and kind when I messaged her to troubleshoot the propane heater when we arrived.
We highly recommend going into Black Mountain for lunch (Fresh Wood Fired Pizza and Pasta is our favorite!) and to visit the local shops. It's a super dog-friendly town and way less crowded than Asheville!
Make sure to pack some bug spray... we found a few ticks!
And finally, don't be too scared by the driveway... it's definitely steep, but our AWD (not 4WD) Subaru Crosstrek made it all the way up to the cabin just fine!

Very organized and clean, solar lighting to light the paths, communicates easily, the cold plunge and sauna area is an oasis in the camp ground! The luxury bathhouse is wonderful! I found the outdoor shower the last day- my mistake! Tools in the cabin were a nice addition as i havent camped in many years! Comfy beds! We want to come back!

Very nice campground. Staff is very friendly and will look out for lone campers. They come by at least 2 times a day to check on everyone. Red cabin is just a bed but that is really all you need if hiking in the area.

This was by far the best hipcamp I’ve stayed at. We loved waking up to the bird song. Everything that you needed was provided and in very good condition. I loved that you could close the deck gates to keep the pups wrangled. The shower was lovely and warm. The swing made you feel like a kid again. The only downside is the walk up (we didn’t have AWD on this trip) but would be easily avoided with a car that could handle it. I would rebook this stay in a heartbeat! I hope to visit again in the future.

Weekend Trip to Destination Outdoors! DO IT!
I had such a relaxing time! I stayed for just a couple of days. The hammocks are standard and there is a small mattress too. There is electricity by solar power and we didn’t have any issues with it at all. Make sure to bundle up to at night, of course!
You meet Matt at the start of the establishment and he’ll take you to the site. There is a nice bathroom at the start with ventilation, very clean, had a shower with shampoo, conditioner, body wash.
Perfect spot for river therapy and relax! I set up my own hammock by the water, explored the grounds and found a staircase that leads to a flat area with river access and a picnic table. Area is pretty shaded so it felt really nice!
There is a bridge and neighborhood nearby which I think you see from the posting anyways.

The cabin right on the river was comfortable and quaint, loved falling asleep and waking to the sound of the water and birds singing! The restrooms and showers were clean and lots of hot water. The property is amazing plenty of privacy between cabins. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. The trails were also good to hike in the mornings. Extra plus: the two horses on the adjoining property were so beautiful and friendly, we fed them bits of grass every day. Overall would definitely recommend if you are OK with roughing it just a little bit.

We had a great weekend staying in the Teela Springs Cabin at Cold Springs Basecamp! It was probably the easiest camping trip we’ve ever done as a family. No need for a tent or cooking gear since it was all included with the cabin. A great way to get outdoors and spend time with the family. The cabin had a lot of privacy compared to the other sites we saw which we really enjoyed.

The property is a gem in this area. The rustic cabin was perfect for our group. The facilities were impressive. Nicest campground bathrooms I have ever been in. Absolutely loved our stay in this cute cabin! Everything was clean and beautifully set up on arrival. Amenities were plentiful (we definitely over prepared for the trip lol) and the views were great. Location is super convenient, being a full mountain retreat while also being 15 mins away from both Black Mountain and Asheville, so there’s a lot to do aside from the numerous walking trails. Deserae was also extremely helpful and responsive! We are absolutely going to be staying here again!

Weekend Trip to 3 Creeks Camp and Nature Preserve
Damon was a nice host that offered assistance when needed. I stayed in the Creek Campsite and it was a joy! The property is beautiful and he has a web that was nice to sit on and look at the stars. Easy to navigate in and out of the site (even with a little sedan). Only stayed for one night, but it just so happened to be a night full of music and a light show.

Weekend Trip to Cold Spring Basecamp
Great stay and beautiful new bathhouse! Wonderful communication from the host and small details were thought of with amenities in the cabin. We didn't have time to use the sauna this visit but would love to return!
