Weekend Trip to Deerfield Farms

This is a lovely quiet get away . The owners are relaxed and very friendly. The showers, bathrooms etc are clean and well run. We had a great time hiking and roasting marshmallows around the campfire.

10 nights at Big Creek RV Park of Saluda SC

We camped for 10 nights. Very quiet other than the birds singing. We enjoyed visiting with our children and grandchildren who all live in the area. Our host, James, was very nice and accommodating. Our campsite was a mix of sun and shade. The kids had a great time kayaking and fishing in Big Creek which borders part of the property. It was like camping in the middle of the woods, but close to the little town of Saluda. Thank you James. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great experience camping at Utopia Farm. Ray and Cindy are easy going and a pleasure to chat with. We love the horses, so very friendly. Goats are a riot! They we’re interested in what we were doing (Overlanding). We love sharing our adventures with those who are interested. Looking forward to seeing them again and highly recommend camping here!

I highly recommend Victor place. My family went there on a daddy daughter camping trip.The property is beautiful.The fishing is great and he was very helpful. My daughter said it was the best camping trip ever! Only issue we had was using the directions from this app, they were off a little. Found out through him that he also offers twenty dollar day fishing and will absolutely be taking him up on that. We will definitely be back!

This was by far the best hip camp ive ever been to. We are so happy we found Victor’s little slice of heaven. I believe every camper and angler should experience this place!! There are so many things to see or do on this property. We asked where the fish sit in the lake and he told us “wherever you can cast” and he was not lying!! We caught SO many fish this weekend and even cooked up some bream on the fire for dinner. The road was no problem, you couldnt hear it that much from our tent anyways. Even if you feel like it is the property is so big theres a spot somewhere for everyone. Victor even let us borrow a table and an extra chair. The shower and toilet was such a great addition as well. Victor was extremely nice and helpful, and came and checked to see if we were catching fish. He was an awesome host and we will 100% be back ASAP!!

The A-frame was perfect! Enough space to be able to relax in. Every morning, afternoon and evening, my dog and I would sit on the dock gazing out at the lake with Herons, Osprey, Geese, Ducks and Cormorants all flying past. With the boat ramp right there, we would easily cast off on our SUP for the lake. Jesse, his wife and kids were wonderful and so nice. Their place and land offered so much to do. My dog got to feel like a country dog, interacting with the chickens, running through the woods and snoozing by the fire pit. This trip was exactly what I needed and desired. I loved every minute at Jesse's place.

Great site, short walk to the lake edge where we put in our kayaks. Wood pallet was generous and set up was nice. We saw a bald eagle minutes after making a toast to those fighting overseas (can’t make this stuff up)! Found a 1965 nickel on the ground, wonder what other hidden historic secrets are in this area. Awesome campsite!

Now we are retired and enjoy farming and ranching. We are a couple of miles away from Lake Murray, built in 1920's, and displaced thousands of families, farms, towns, churches, and schools. There are still homes, graveyards, Wise Ferry Bridge still underwater. A B-25 Mitchell plane crashed into the Lake during WWII. Our traffic circle was accidentally bombed one Oct. night in 1944. We are 30 miles from Columbia, SC, our state capital. Learn more about this land: We are a working farm of grass-fed beef, free-range laying hens and ducks, seasonal vegetables; fruits, honey hives, goats, donkeys and horses. We are surrounded by families who have lived on their land for many generations. No subdivisions. Great place to star gaze without street lights. We have 2 sites with water and electricity for camping. Our large barn has a full kitchen, full bath and den area for campers to share. Yet, we are just a few miles from 2 boat ramps on Lake Murray which offers fishing and boating. Also, we are just 30 miles from metropolitan Columbia, historic Newberry, and 15 miles from the town of Lexington, SC. The Capital City of Columbia, just 30 miles east, offers Riverbanks Zoo, Richland County’s Congaree National Park, Saluda Shoals Park, EdVenture Children’s Museum. The Newberry Opera House is 36 miles away and The Big Mo Drive-in Theatre is in Monetta, 13 miles. Indian Trail Public Golf Course is 15 miles in Leesville. Or just hang out at the farm, view the animals, or fish in our pond. We have stalls available for equestrian travelers and a trail around the property to walk or ride your horse. Pets must be on lease or voice control and poop scooping is not an option. No WiFi yet.
