Four wheel drive is recommended as the gravel road to the site is somewhat steep. The steepest part of the driveway is pictured. Please consider possible weather events, vehicle weight, RV ground clearance, and the horsepower of your vehicle before booking to ensure you can reach the site. On-leash pets are welcome, and camp fires are permitted (outside of a burn ban). There is potable water, septic hookups, and trash disposal on site. The site is only 5 miles from Chimney Rock and Lake Lure, 20 miles to Asheville and 15 miles to Black Mountain. Please note this is a mountainous area and power lines are overhead instead of buried, so power outages may happen due to fallen trees, particularly during severe weather. Outages usually do not last more than a few hours but may be prolonged if severe damage occurs due to storms. No early check in or late check out, and no long-term rentals.

DuPont State Forest is 25 minutes away and it includes hiking, mountain biking, and waterfalls. Boaters will find the French Broad River, Horseshoe Bend, river access less than 10 minutes. More hiking and mountain biking at Ride Kanuga 15 minutes away. Nearby breweries include Mills River Brewery and Bold Rock Cidery 15 minutes away.
