This rustic studio space I affectionately call Chicken Church, has been a labor of love, using all the materials I have collected from my many construction projects over the years... and many states. My friends all know who to pass the junk along to. The space is heated with a wood stove and has an antique 1922 wood cook stove--do you know how to cook on one? The kitchen is set up with a sink, water kettle and cooking amenities, including an electric stove. Bathroom amenities: cold water sink and toilet. No shower inside, but there is an outdoor shower, propane heated. (NOTE: Heater gets removed at first 32° and won't be available in November.) The main house on the property is within 200 feet, where I share the space with Airbnb guests. There is a close neighbor family to the left, about 250 feet away. Because my property is in a residential neighborhood, respect for neighbors and other guests is greatly appreciated. Outside, you’ll feel an instant sense of peace and tranquility surrounded by horses, happy, free ranging chickens, abundant woods, gardens, ponds with some new baby geese chicks soon, open lawns and a fire pit for your restful getaway. I have a pup who monitors the outdoors... and to keep it uncomplicated, i cannot accept other pets. Asheville is about a 12 minute drive: Known as the craft beer capital in the US, there is no shortage of breweries. You don't have to go very far to find a plethora of trails in this town, including the mountain to sea trail which is easily accessible from this neighborhood. I started Nero Coffee in 2019 and purchased 6 acres near DuPont State Forest to share my land and create my own coffee campground to continue growing the mission. Update for 2024! Nero Coffee's Camping Spot has three ways to camp. Site 1: Glamping in my custom built (and way too adorable) mini A frame cabin. This cabin is tucked in the rhododendrons for complete privacy. Enjoy the super comfy bed and unique lifting side door to let the outdoors in :) or Site 2: Camping with room for up to 8 guests. There are multiple sites and so much room to spread out for groups up to 8 people. This year I am only opening tent camping for one group at a time so you can experience the mountains in the most peaceful setting. The upper camping area has plenty of flat areas for vans, cars, trucks and tents, and if you don't mind carrying our tent down the hill, the lower creekside camping area is THE PERFECT stargazing spot. There's plenty of room to set up any size tent down there, too. basically, You have the campground to make yourself totally at home. Site 3: Simple Car Camping Spot - Just want a spot to pull over camp for the night close toDuPont State Forest? We can make that happen. No tents allowed here, but it's a peaceful alternative to a cracker barrel parking lot. ----- Once you set up camp feel free to visit the Coffee Shed - It's a small shed on the property by the house that has everything you need to make a great cup of coffee. Coffee is always free. :) I have fire pits, tables an, if I am home, I have a super cute corgi that roams around the property throughout the day. If you spot me outside feel free to say hi or ask any questions about the area. I love helping guests find new places to explore. You will be about 8 minutes to DuPont State Forest (my favorite hiking and biking area) which has miles and miles of hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding trails. The entrance to Pisgah National Forest is about 15 minutes away as well so it's a convenient drive to visit the forest and drive up to the Blue Ridge Parkway. I also own a company that guides "coffee hikes" to local waterfalls in DuPont State forest. You can find more about that in the photo descriptions. :) Please note!! My road up to my driveway is steep and bumpy. It’s only 0.3 miles up but bumpy. You don't need four wheel drive but higher ground clearance is recommended. (I have had small cars make it up but it is a bit intimidating if you are not used to driving in the mountains). if you have a small car just go slow. :) ------- Larger group? Want an indoor bath and shower?? If you are planning a larger group camping retreat and want to book the entire campground (including the main house with indoor shower, restrooms, and full kitchen and spare bedroom) I can make that happen for $500 a night. Outside, you’ll feel an instant sense of peace and tranquility surrounded by horses, happy, free ranging chickens, abundant woods, gardens, ponds with some new baby geese chicks soon, open lawns and a fire pit for your restful getaway. The entrance to Pisgah National Forest is about 15 minutes away as well so it's a convenient drive to visit the forest and drive up to the Blue Ridge Parkway. I also own a company that guides "coffee hikes" to local waterfalls in DuPont State forest. You can find more about that in the photo descriptions. :) Please note!! My road up to my driveway is steep and bumpy. It’s only 0.3 miles up but bumpy. You don't need four wheel drive but higher ground clearance is recommended. Welcome to my peaceful homestead in the valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This rustic studio space I affectionately call Chicken Church, has been a labor of love, using all the materials I have collected from my many construction projects over the years... and many states. My friends all know who to pass the junk along to. The space is heated with a wood stove and has an antique 1922 wood cook stove--do you know how to cook on one? The kitchen is set up with a sink, water kettle and cooking amenities, including an electric stove. Bathroom amenities: cold water sink and toilet. No shower inside, but there is an outdoor shower, propane heated. (NOTE: Heater gets removed at first 32° and won't be available in November.) The main house on the property is within 200 feet, where I share the space with Airbnb guests. There is a close neighbor family to the left, about 250 feet away. Because my property is in a residential neighborhood, respect for neighbors and other guests is greatly appreciated. Outside, you’ll feel an instant sense of peace and tranquility surrounded by horses, happy, free ranging chickens, abundant woods, gardens, ponds with some new baby geese chicks soon, open lawns and a fire pit for your restful getaway. I have a pup who monitors the outdoors... and to keep it uncomplicated, i cannot accept other pets. Asheville is about a 12 minute drive: Known as the craft beer capital in the US, there is no shortage of breweries. You will be about 8 minutes to DuPont State Forest (my favorite hiking and biking area) which has miles and miles of hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding trails. The entrance to Pisgah National Forest is about 15 minutes away as well so it's a convenient drive to visit the forest and drive up to the Blue Ridge Parkway. I also own a company that guides "coffee hikes" to local waterfalls in DuPont State forest. You can find more about that in the photo descriptions. :) Please note!! My road up to my driveway is steep and bumpy. It’s only 0.3 miles up but bumpy. You don't need four wheel drive but higher ground clearance is recommended. (I have had small cars make it up but it is a bit intimidating if you are not used to driving in the mountains). if you have a small car just go slow. :) ------- Larger group? Want an indoor bath and shower?? If you are planning a larger group camping retreat and want to book the entire campground (including the main house with indoor shower, restrooms, and full kitchen and spare bedroom) I can make that happen for $500 a night. What a lovely, welcoming spot Mark and Esther have. We (my bf, pooch and I) spent two nights in our 18.5' camper trailer here in Techno RV Site #2 and it was quite perfect. We had no neighbors camped near us (mid-November and mid-week) so we felt like we were alone in the woods. But there are nice tree/shrub barriers between each site so I think it would have been fine if there had been. The bathhouse was clean and had everything you needed (including a timed heater and unlimited hot water) and the hiking trails on the property were a great place to walk the dog in the morning before setting out on our adventures. Communication was great from the hosts and they were there waiting for us upon our almost-late arrival. All in all, we felt this spot was great - and we'll probably be back. Thanks, Mark and Esther!

Christy’s place suited my needs perfectly, I was just looking for a place with basic amenities to get out the cold for one night before starting my backpacking trip. Two things I wanna mention though, if the temperature is dipping below 40°F make sure you have a warm enough sleeping bag or quilt because the little heater they have in there didn’t do much at that temperature, and secondly, I just had a 2 wheel drive truck and the driveway is very steep getting in and out and I was barely able to make it so just keep that in mind. But otherwise, it’s a beautiful place on a beautiful property and I would have loved to stay another night. Only took me about 15 minutes to get to Brevard for some dinner.

My partner and I spent two peaceful nights at this private and magical site. The creek was only a few feet from our tent site which made for excellent sleeping. The platform for our tent kept us warm and dry. We awoke to a beautiful view and id'ed many birds. The field allowed us to practice with our boomerangs too! The hosts were warm and down to earth and I would recommend this site to all!

This was a really awesome camp site, a lot of great views, good amenities, and great location. The actual sites are a bit close together but still spread out enough that you have you privacy, and there’s a lot of great views around the camp. They had running water which we used to refill our bottles, and the showers were really nice and got very hot. If you need wood, then the bundles they offer supply plenty for a long trip. The sites also were set up very smart with plenty of room for parking, a hook to hang up either food or a lantern, and a large container of water given to you for the fires. I would definitely come back here if I was in the area again.
