In 2013 I decided to live life differently and start from the ground up building with natural materials and found materials. At that time I was fortunate enough to have the land passed to me and I started building a home for myself and to be close to my mothers home nearby. My favorite campground to date. They were super accommodating when I asked to check in early. The camper I stayed in was spot on with the holiday decor, cleanliness and layout. Being able to look out the windows or stand on the deck to say good morning to my favorite little friend, Batman, was phenomenal. I got to help Macy with some feeding and poop scooping! She was great at answering ALL my questions and telling me some of their farm history and stories in such a way that was natural, casual and especially fun. Impressive all around. The combination of an easy-going and inviting atmosphere with professional standards is perfection.

My kids loved the camper and the farm and had a great time. Fun board games available in the camper and there is a nice hiking trail we walked on during the day. My daughter loved to feed the animals and both kids enjoyed the playground. We made a campfire both nights we were there. Highly recommend and hope to be back in the future.

The property was really a great location for our group that were overall new to camping with amenities nearby to pickup groceries or go to a diner when needed! We really enjoyed taking turns on the row boat, and playing card games and monopoly in the cabin area at night. The campsite felt really private, but there was some barking from dogs nearby at night, and sometimes gunshots.
Alex, the owner, was very responsive and helpful in finding local activities and resolving any issues we had during the stay!

Absolutely loved it. Perfect place to get away. Awesome creepy “Cabin in the Woods” vibes. When the sun went down the night came alive. We watched Evil Dead 2 in the cabin. This was an amazing trip. I will be booking this exact spot again. Love it!!!

Weekend Trip to Laurel Oaks Estate
We stayed at little bear and had a fantastic time! The bed was very comfortable and the tent had everything you could need to cook, eat, and even had an AC unit! Very helpful in the July heat. We paddled around on the pond and enjoyed making s'mores on the campfire. Krystl met with us and allowed us to pet and feed the horses which were beautiful. Overall an amazing glamping experience. Would definitely recommend!

We loved staying in the Little Bear!
The amenities this space has to offer are endless - lovely outdoor shower with provided towels, covered porch, fire pit and chairs, very clean portapotty, farm fresh eggs (that were delicious!), a grill and all the kitchen wear needed to cook, a mini fridge, flashlights if you’ve forgotten yours, extra blankets, a space heater/cooling unit, indoor and outdoor games, and usb ports connected to the bed for electronics charging.
Each site is spaced out enough that you only see people when they are driving to/from their site. It feels very secluded and private.
The nature is beautiful; with the pond, trails, and all of the animal sounds!
The estate is close enough to the beach that we were able to spend the day at Litchfield Beach and stop at Broadway on the Beach on the way back.
We loved it and hope to bring our friends to Laurel Oak’s Estate for a group trip soon!

Where to go
Pee Dee and the Grand Strand
The Pee Dee River runs all the way from the Appalachian Mountains in North Carolina to Georgetown on the Atlantic Coast. This northeastern slice of South Carolina is best known for its Grand Strand beaches, whether camping at the hugely popular Myrtle Beach resorts, bird-watching at Huntington Beach State Park, or teeing off at one of the many coastal golf courses.
Lowcountry
Hemmed in by the Savannah River and the Atlantic Coast, the southwestern lowlands are an idyllic stretch of marshlands, barrier islands, and coastal towns. Hunting Island State Park is the state’s most visited park, and a paradise for bird-watchers and campers, while RV parks dot the beaches of Hilton Head Island. Midlands

Upcountry
The Blue Ridge Mountains tumble down over the border from North Carolina, and South Carolina’s mountainous north is a natural playground of forested valleys, lakes, and waterfalls. Greenville is the starting point for exploring the north, from where you can hike the 3,533-foot summit of Sassafras Mountain, the state’s highest peak; camp amid the mountains in Table Rock State Park; or explore the multi-use trails at Paris Mountain State Park. For backcountry camping, it doesn’t get much better than the Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area, which links the Jones Gap and Caesars Head state parks.
