Follow us on Instagram @shitefootfarms As always we are excited and can't wait to share our place with you! We are a small farmette with goats, chickens, ducks, fruits, veggies, and Irish Wolfhounds. The 1.3 acre parcel across the street from the house and farm has a forested peninsula that the A-frame is located on. Our street ends in a small stream that continues to separate the farmstead from the A-frame site. Come stay in our tiny rustic A frame cabin built of mostly reclaimed materials. Enjoy being across the stream and over the bridge from the main house on a private peninsula. Enjoy the privacy of a "single site" camp! Use the fire pit, grill, outdoor wood stove, single burner butane stove or umm the bathroom :) without having to leave your site! Please be aware we are in town and you may hear road noise, lawn mowers, dogs, ect. You may also see and hear wildlife ex; deer, beavers, ducks, muskrats, rabbits, geese, foxes, and coyotes. We encourage native plants and work to provide a sanctuary for many threatened bird species. The cabin is 100sq. feet with sloping interior walls the flip up side wall is permanently open and screened in. There is no running water or electricity so unplug and unwind. A place to plug in and the water spigot a short stroll from your cabin in the driveway The cabin has a a full size mattress with sheets, blankets, throws and pillows. Lanterns, cooking utensils, camp mugs and camp coffee pot are provided. Please request the cast iron skillet and butane burner, it will not be in the cabin if you do not ask for it. You are also welcome to set up your own tent. Please note cleared space is limited and the tent should be a 1-3 person smaller tent. Outside on the deck are tiki torches, woodstove and bistro table. There is a hammock, picnic table, and 2 sets of outdoor chairs at your site. We do not have a swimming hole but the town beach is 5 minutes away and requires a day pass. If you forget something you are a short walk to Cumbies, and several farms, bakeries and a large grocer are a very short drive away. Venture farther (10 minutes) to one of the nearby hiking trails. We are within 15 minutes of the Blackstone Gorge, Southern New England Trunkline Trail, Cornier Woods, Franklin State Forest, Wojcik Farm, Cook's Valley Farm, the New England Bonsai Museum, Diamond Hill Vineyards, Caroline's Cannabis, Shire Conservation Area, New England Country Club, and many stables. The Commuter Rail to Boston, Wrentham Premium Outlets, and a Drive-in Theater are within 30 minutes. Use us as a base to explore Blackstone Valley, Boston and Worcester!! Come stay on our working farm! Relax and enjoy all that our farm has to offer. You can enjoy nature and privacy or opt for a more interactive experience and join our morning or evening farm tour where you can interact with goats, sheep, mini-horses, pigs, chickens, ducks, and more. We are a small family farm where we raise animals and grow flowers/food. Our family home was built in 1739 and is situated near the street entrance. As you enter the property, you will see two cottages, the oldest corn crib in the county, and a beautifully restored 1800s barn. There is a vintage-style camper to the left of the barn, located in an area where you can have privacy overlooking the pastures. We live on the property and can assist guests with anything that they might need. Guests are welcome to stroll around the property and enjoy all it has to offer. Weekend Trip to Glamping with the Wild Horses

We had an amazing time! When we got there we were greeted by Jody & she was AMAZING! She helped us get settled in and made sure we knew that if there was anything we needed we could call her. The beds were incredibly comfortable, it downpoured so hard for most of the night and the dome was great! It didn’t let a single drop of rain in. There’s a wood stove in the dome and it was enough to keep us toasty warm even though it was in the low 30’s, they also provide tons of warm comfy blankets. There was plenty of wood chopped right outside the domes so if you run out it’s very close. We were able to go and help feed the herd and had the opportunity to give plenty of scratches! In the morning we booked the hike with the horses with Tatianna & Chris which was amazing! We were actually in the areas with the gorgeous herd and were able to get hands on again! I honestly could go on all night talking about how amazing it was but in my opinion the very best part of everything was the fact that every single cent that I spent while we were there went right back into caring for and maintaining the herd. When I was looking for a place to go that’s what sealed the deal and made the decision to pick this place very easy!! I highly HIGHLY recommend checking it out for yourself, you won’t be disappointed!

This was so much fun! To wake up and see the horses (and donkeys!) wandering right outside our dome was perfect, and getting to do the walk about with MacKenzie and learn about the horses and their background was so interesting. The dome was clean and cozy, with a little wood stove. We weathered a hurricane in October with no problems.

Justin and Amy are very friendly and responsive to any questions. They give very detailed instructions before arrival. The campsite is peaceful and comes with so many amenities, packing was so easy. Getting an add on of a cooler full of ice was so great, the ice lasted the whole time we were there!

Weekend Trip to Two Herons Farm

This place was so much fun! It was a beautiful, serene, country location. Don't let the farm vibe scare you - it wasn't smelly, "dirty," or muddy at all; just peaceful. The sound of crickets lulled us to sleep and the cool air made for a deep, restful night. With the door and windows closed, there wasn't much ambient (animal) noise and the rooster didn't wake me up like I expected. The "bed" was more comfortable than I expected. (I'm a wicked light sleeper and expected a rough night... It was anything but!) The RV was quaint and vintage, and so cozy and inviting. The bathroom is small but was just enough for us (shower and all.) Not having to sleep on the ground and being able to have my own restroom was precisely why we chose this site but it was leaps and bounds better than I expected. We'd return in a heartbeat. Nice, central location in CT, and if we were there longer, I would've loved to have used the kitchen and enjoyed the farm more. The coffee maker was a godsend first thing in the morning while we packed up. I feel like this would be an excellent place for an artist or a writer to escape and find inspiration. Lastly, the camper was away from the rest of the structures so we felt like the farm was ours. 1 night was not enough.

This site is a dream. Jae will send you a list of nearby attractions to visit but you will not at all want to leave the magic of the A-frame. The spot is perfectly secluded, simultaneously buried in the woods and full of sunlight, quiet and clean — it was the most rejuvenating weekend escape from the city (my partner and I both slept better than we have in a long time!) The citronella torches kept the mosquitos away, the toilet was easy and clean, and Jae gives you everything you might need (toilet paper, camp stove, water for drinking, water for washing, etc). Will be recommending this site to all of my friends!! Thank you Jae!

Weekend Trip to Glamping with the Wild Horses

MacKenzie’s wild horse sanctuary is a very special place! We had a great experience. All of the staff were very knowledgeable and kind. We learned a lot about their mission and had a lot of interaction with the horses. The glamping domes were very comfortable and nicely decorated. There was a grill by the communal campfire for cooking, but you will need to bring your own pots and pans, utensils, plates, etc. You should also bring your own drinking water. The terrain near the domes is rocky and uneven, so you should bring good shoes, even if you don’t plan on hiking. You have to walk for a little bit to get to the outhouse, but it is the nicest-looking and nicest-smelling outhouse you will ever see! If you love horses, put this place on the top of your list!

Our stay was the perfect reset and refresh we needed! The A frame was super cozy and had all the essentials and then some. It was the perfect mix of peaceful seclusion while still being just a short walk or drive from anything we needed. Jae was a great host, giving us complete privacy but remaining reachable if anything came up. Couldn’t have asked for a better spot.
