Our driveway is located about 3 miles from the start of the Boston Marathon, 8 minutes from 495, but, down a country road. We find our property to be quite peaceful. We do have crickets and frogs to lull you to sleep and early birds to greet you in the morning.  Keep an eye out for turtles! We are a few hundred yards from either Upton State Forest or Lake Whitehall. Lake Whitehall is popular with boaters (speed limit enforced) and is stocked with fish. No swimming. There is a public boat ramp on the other side of the lake. We often put in our kayaks at the entrance close to our house. We hike, mountain bike and picnic in these parks. It's really beautiful.  There is a 24-hour grocery store 2 miles down the road.  The gravel campsite is located at the barn end of our driveway in front of the red barn. There is a little privacy from the house, but, we may need to get into the barn from time to time. We have a 30amp and water hookup at the barn. If planning on using electric please add one "electric hookup" extra to each night of your stay BEFORE finishing the request to book, it's really difficult to add it after. Please plan to bring 50' of hose and/or 25ft of electrical cord if using hookups. There is wifi, BUT, it's pretty weak at the barn. Definitely not strong enough for streaming! Our Ibex camper may or may not be parked next to the barn depending on if we are out camping!  We do not accept car campers. Turtle Path also has a Guest Suite. Find us on that other website! Shortly after we moved in we discovered a large snapping turtle on his way from Lake Whitehall to the creek at the back of our property. Our neighbor told us that's the turtle's usual route. Turtle won our hearts that day.

The main property is fenced in, with a large back field great for tent camping, and an orchard to explore that can also double as hammock camping. There is parking for cars and bikes. We try to minimize our impact on the environment as much as possible, and encourage our guests to compost, recycle, and dispose of waste accordingly. Please note we have dogs, including a Livestock Guardian Dog that does bark to alert us of new people and warn off would be predators. With the original home built in 1785, Milk Thistle farm is on the historic register and is comprised of the main house and 5 acres of land. It is run as a small non-profit animal sanctuary and is home to rescued chickens, goats, and pigs, as well as two humans and their dog and cat companions. The main property is fenced in, with a large back field great for tent camping, and an orchard to explore that can also double as hammock camping. There is parking for cars and bikes. We try to minimize our impact on the environment as much as possible, and encourage our guests to compost, recycle, and dispose of waste accordingly. Please note we have dogs, including a Livestock Guardian Dog that does bark to alert us of new people and warn off would be predators. KSJoy’s property was as described and a nice spot to hang out for a couple of days before the busy holiday season kicks in. Full electric hookup. No water this time of year (was just shut off last week). Nice area. Drove around. Followed the host’s recommendations for local food. Great advice! Had our four dogs with us. The property is close to a fairly busy road so having good recall (or we brought a fencing system) is essential. The road noise Fri-Sun in mid Nov. was not an issue. The host was very communicative and answered all questions but was hands off which we liked. Highly recommend.

We overnighted here for my sons birthday fishing trip. 3x 13 year olds and dad. Jocelyn was an amazing host. Super friendly and approachable. The barn is a great place for cold nights and rain. It’s a great way to plan a camping trip without worrying about rain or weather. If you are into trout/small mouth fishing the Natchaug is right across the street and there are many many walks all around. Great location will definitely be back again!

A nice little tent camping site! The walk from parking there is quick. The site itself is level and clean, great plus. It is narrow so giant tents may not fit, but our 3 person tent worked nicely. The site has a wooden chair and a fire pit, with plenty of wood and branches to use as fire material. We camped on a clear night so the stars were also great!

Nice little spot and quiet. I always prefer a camp site on a pine needle bed since it’s nice and soft. Only 20 minutes from Lexington if you like history, about an hour from Salem if traffic isn’t bad. I would caution the size of the vehicle you bring. My Tacoma with a 5’5” bed and 2 bike rack BARELY fit in the spot, but other than that it was great! We’d definitely stay here again

What a lovely place Danielle has. We thankfully were able to meet her in person this morning. The yard and woods were peaceful and filled with birds. She opened her lovely home to us and it was wonderful to sit in the living room in a morning sunbeam and do some work. Convenient location to friends and family in nearby towns. We hope to return if in the area again.

My bestie & I had a wonderful overnight at Hammock Hallows. Camp is on private property, has own driveway, parking & paths w signs to 4 Sites: Hammock Hallows, Fern Gully, Mossy Glen and Woodland’s Edge. Bring a rolling cart. Woodland’s Edge is a half cabin half tent & easily walkable from parking, very spacious. Mossy Glen set far back on the property. Fern Gully adorable little a-frame cabin w a bed, floor cushions & windows, w hobbit door! Has bbq, bar seats for 2 & partial bath w sink & toilet. does not have a fire pit. It is close to the baths. -Hammock Hallows closest to home but far enough away w paneling hill & garden btwn you & home for privacy. Easily walked from parking across back fence past the chickens and down a short path then to the left. It is a spacious site where you can pop up 1 or 2 tents. sky hammock gone. composting toilet in all sites a large bucket with leaf litter at bottom & seat with lid w tp & privacy. There are slopes, roots & pine pitch, be mindful. baths are wonderful & worth $ for work it takes to clean, fill & heat & mats for bottom. can provide wine, towels & eco-friendly bubble bath, just ask. enough privacy unless someone @ Fern Gully. Heard great horned owls, barred owls hooting & red fox. Day were visited by bobcat. There are many chickens, friendly rooster & bunny. Andrea has a vision. We enjoyed staying at KSJoy's land. It was exactly as described. You can hear some road noise due to the closeness of the road but because of the home on the property, it's still very private. Our dogs enjoyed being off leash and there was a good amount of room for them to roam around. If in the area we would not hesitate to stay again.
