Just renovated for winter camping! Completely sealed up and draft free. Still a very primitive site, but the interior now keeps in the warmth from the fireplace. A set of bunk beds and a4 seat table as well as some could makes it work for up to 6 people. Plenty of tent area around of you have a bigger group! Sunnyday's farm and forest was a Christmas tree farm in the 1950's. I've owned it for the last 30 years and it is now a horse farm with pastures and woods. Rustic area of 25 acres of pastures and forest bordering a hundred of acres of railroad and municipal forest. Great for hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking. 1.5 miles from Deer Lakes park which has fishing, hiking, mountain biking, frisbee course and a great playground. The Allegheny river, judged to be one of the cleanest in the country, is just 6 miles away. Harrison Hills park offers great hiking along the river and an occasional river otter. The Rachel Carson Trail and Baker trail are just a few miles away. It is a secluded log cabin in the woods on top of a hill overlooking a pasture. It is a very primitive cabin with a fireplace, brick floor, large porch, fabric interior and no chinking in the logs. We provide a bunk bed and cots and 2 picnic tables.. There is a large grassy area in front of the cabin for tents. There is no vehicle access, no electricity and no water at the cabin, but LOTS of downed wood for fires. There are horses, goats, chickens, ducks and a pig that roam the pastures. The cabin is about 300 yards from the parking area up a fairly steep hill, but the location is worth the walk! If you're stopping with an RV or trailer we have ample parking near the road and have overnight accommodations for horses Great place for a stopover.

Once known as Parkman Gorge the valley was a hub for water powered industry in the early 1800's. The river and valley is home to a wide array of wildlife. Deer, turkey, eagles, hawks, owls, mink, river otters to name a few. The area also attracts many song birds including a wide variety of warblers. There is also an abundance of wild flowers. The valley is rich in Native American history. Many artifacts have been found on the property. My great grandfather talked about the last Native American to live in Parkman. He had a cabin on one of the bluffs along the river. In the 1820's there was a water powered sawmill, flaxseed mill, and forge on the river. The boy scouts used the valley for a camp in the 1920,s. My grandpa purchased the property in the 50's from Ohio Edison. Ohio Edison's plan to dam up the river for hydro power never materialized. The valley has been a favorite for outdoor enthusiasts. We had a great time at Nick’s campground! We had a nice space and no issues at all. The path to the campsites is a little rocky so if you have an older beat up car like us and are driving in the dark, be sure to be careful! There is a close active train track but we didn’t mind it much. Complimentary wine bottles in the outhouse from their local winery as a nice added touch! Would definitely go back!

We stayed at site 2, there was a tree blocking the path but it wasn't too hard to get around. There is a very active train track beside the site, which to us was very cool but to someone looking for a quiet site at night, or somewhere kids can run around without worry, it may be a concern. Access to the campsite was simple and the amenities were good!

Such a beautiful location. The views were amazing. The hosts were super accommodating and kind. They were on site when we visited, and they offered to give my nieces and nephews a ride in their buggy. They had a blast. Kids and dogs loved trekking through the creek and exploring the waterfall. The open field was great for us to play all sorts of games. Played capture the flag at night. All in all a great time.

Everything was great, we very much so appreciate the opportunity to stay in a laid back private spot that genuinely feels like primitive camping. Me and my friends like to camp quite a lot and have been to a decent amount of parks, but this spot has definitely been our favorite. I tried to clean up the site best to my ability, and hope it was done to perfection. Thanks Nick, for the weekend stay!

We stayed at site #5 and everything was perfect. The host Curtis and the site. We arrived and noticed he left some dry kindling to start a fire and they have plenty of firewood to purchase. The tent was clean and even had a chair to use. The bathroom was really close and the views were amazing. We definitely will return in the future.

Very secluded spot. Nice camp site. You are next to train tracks. Train came through about three times a night. Other than that it was quiet. Was provided plenty of firewood. I would recommend the site.

Highly recommend the horse back riding! What a unique offering with your cabin stay. I will be straight, the cabin is for true woodsmen - it's raw, it's that's your cup of joe, I highly recommend this stay, I had a blast!!
