Great site. Would definitely return. Site is mostly soft grass with some small gravel on the high traffic areas, plenty of space, and right along a nice creek. There's some activity from the public canoe launch nearby, but it's overall nice and private. Only wish would be having the porta potty closer.

I’m a repeat camper and have enjoyed both sites at this location. Highly recommend staying when the beer garden is open. And go for a swim if you can, the water is lovely. Great site. We’ll be back again!

We loved tent camping at Creekside Grill! The open lean-to structure was the perfect place for stashing our cooler and bags so that we had plenty of extra room in our tent. It would also be very handy in case of rain. We took the kayaks and spent a few hours exploring downstream. The water was cold and clear and deep enough for a nice swim on a hot day. We booked a Sunday and Monday and walked down to the Beer Garden in Sunday afternoon for live music, drinks, and dinner from a food truck. The campsite was far enough from the Beer Garden that the noise wouldn't have bothered us. It was so quiet and peaceful, especially at night with moonlight shining on the water and the sound of an owl up in the trees. We also saw a heron, a local swan, and a hawk in the tree above the porta potty. Also, the Porta Potty was very clean! We will definitely come back for a longer stay next summer.

Wow, what a wonderful experience, campsites are laid out perfectly. The creek is beautiful. The hosts are very attentive to your needs and and the amenities with the canoeing and kayaking are exceptional, and there is fish in the Brandywine river.

We are returning to this site third year in a row. Beautiful location, fun place to be with kids because the water is clean and shallow for swimming. Plus there are all sizes of kayaks available to use. The hosts are great and very friendly, responding right away. We will definitely be back!!

We loved camping on Ricks property! The kids loved fishing and swimming in the river. They caught Small Mouth, Large Mouth and Sun fish. The site was just perfect! The shack came in handy in the Thunderstorm that hit.

Our host, Rick, was quick to respond to any questions. He provided us access to kayaks and canoes. Both sites have large fire pits and ample space to set up tents. Peaceful and secluded-great spot along the water!

What an amazing spot! You can tell its well loved and taken care of - the fire pit with the flatish boulders framing it is so well thought out. The swing too was such a nice place to relax and having multiple picnic benches made it so easy to unpack setup and relax. Could not beat the views of the creek and it was so easy to get on the water to cool off. Planning on being back next year if not sooner 10/10

Sooo many pros and few cons to this site. I would say that finding the site with the provided directions was hard ish for us — enter from Mortonville Road and head down the gravel drive where all of the trespassing signs are posted at the gate. If you’re the site with the shack, turn right at the T. If you have a low car (like mine, Honda Fit), you may scrape the bottom of your car a little. But this turned out fine!
The last cons I’ll mention are that they came to clean the porta-potty at 7 am on Sunday, which stunk. A rumbling truck rolling through camp that early was not ideal. I don’t know how common that is but worth mentioning. There was also loud music on Saturday night. The posting mentions Sundays, but there was a live band until around 10 pm Saturday that we couldn’t NOT hear.
But back to the pros which were myriad:
- the river is amazing, you cannot beat the access to water
- the shack / overhang building is amazing and such a convenience
- tons of tables and shared space
- perfect fire pit, one of the best I have experienced TBH
- plenty of shaded space to put your tents as close or far apart as you want
- beautiful boardwalk through a marsh
- lovely wildlife like great blue herons, MANY songbirds, frogs, fish
- pretty private but you share the river
- bring your floaties 🛟
- everything was well-kept and well-organized
- everyone we interacted with was very nice

Creekside Grill #2 site was fantastic, right on the Brandywine and very peaceful. Site was level and the Adirondack shelter came in very handy to keep our gear dry because we had quite a bit of rain this weekend. We’ll definitely be back

Weekend Trip to Creekside Grill
Tent camping on Rick's land was an excellent experience. Being right on the creek was very pleasant with various wildlife sightings including heron, turtles, and large fish. The beer garden events on Sunday is a great perk, as is the access to the canoes/kayaks.

Where to go
Memorial Lake State Park
Explore 230 acres around the southern base of Blue Mountain at Memorial Lake State Park, where campers flock to enjoy fishing for northern pike, largemouth bass, yellow perch, trout, and muskellunge. The 85-acre lake attracts boaters with space for more than 50 moorings and two dock launch ramps. Park amenities include pavilions with picnic tables (rent in advance for privacy), charcoal grills, water fountains, benches, and restrooms. There are no campsites in the park, but private RV and tent campsites are available nearby.
Swatara State Park
Backpack along the Appalachian Trail where it cuts through Swatara State Park. The park’s 3,520 acres boast scenic landscapes with views of Swatara Creek. Hike through wetlands and forests for glimpses of local wildlife or visit park highlights like historic Bordner Cabin or Akrigg Falls, which remains flowing throughout all four seasons. Area campsites are situated in the rolling fields and woodlands close to park entrances. Cabin rentals are also available.
Stoever’s Dam State Park
Fish, hike, and canoe at Stoever’s Dam State Park, another popular Lebanon destination for Hipcampers. Brimming with flora and fauna, the park includes observation decks for birdwatchers as well as a 23.5-acre lake that’s stocked with trout. Other park highlights include the 125-year-old nature barn with special exhibits related to the barn and park’s history and a community theater. Look for RV parks and campsites near the park as well as within. Park amenities include pavilions, boat ramps, and restrooms.
When to go
Winter is off-season for Lebanon, but during mild weather, hikers can still be seen hitting the trails or snowmobiling. Peak camping season is summer, but spring and fall draw campers to Lebanon's outdoor attractions, too. Seasonal festivals and farmer’s markets add to Lebanon’s warm season fun. Campers can find some RV parks and campgrounds that offer year-round accommodations, but many remain open only for the warm season.
