There are 3 campsites located in the gap of the little Mahanoy Mountain and line Mountain range along the little Mahanoy creek. All four campsites have creek access and come with picnic table garbage can and fire ring and Firewood is usually available. There are two Porta potty‘s one located at each end of the sites. There are trails for hiking which extends along an abandoned railroad bed and also up into State game lands and into the deep woods. The hiking in the woods is on an incline. But the hiking on the railroad bed is pretty unintense. There is parking at each site. The sites are spread out along the creek bed ranging from more of a rustic primitive tent camping on site 4 to an open site on site 1.

Queen bed with linens provided, plus 2 adult cots with pads and sleeping bags. Everything was awesome. The little cabin stayed so warm and was the perfect size for our family of three plus our doggo! The land was beautiful. Theresa and her husband were both so kind. We loved meeting their farm of animals. And she was easy to get a hold of and easy to chat with. We will definitely be going back. The porta potty is a short walk and they are working on a bunch of upgrades in the cabin too. The emus are wonderful and sweet, we visited them multiple times a day. I could go on and on. 100% recommended for an upgraded camping experience. Look forward to trying them out in warmer weather too!

Great place to stay! Russ is a kind and patient guy I got to the campsite really late and still he met me there and showed me where I was gonna be staying and I really appreciated that! Lots of hiking and scenery, great patio on the back of the cabin, comes with a fridge and microwave for any food you bring. There is no insulation so whatever the temperature it is outside it will also be inside, except in the summer there is a window unit, and it’s a tin roof so rain is extra loud on the roof. Other than these things I would recommend anyone stay here for a weekend of solitude or a family getaway!

Mowed paths made for a fine adventurous walk. The cabin's bed was very comfortable, the stove was convenient, and our hosts friendly. It was great to have such a secluded spot close to our visit to Shikellamy State Park and Bucknell.

This is our second time visiting the cabin. Everything you need is there. No frills, but if you want an experience, relaxing in the woods and being with nature, it is the perfect spot for you.! Our hosts were very generous and responsive to any needs we had. We will definitely go back next year! The Eagles on the lake are always a beautiful sight to see!

The cabin was small and cozy. Perfect for my fiancé and I. We brought our two cats which if your pets are adventurous I wouldn’t recommend. There were many small places for my fur babies to hide (and not in a good way.) The only negative thing I have to say is the description boasted many pots and pans which wasn’t the case. There was only one small pot and one frying pan. We had to drive almost 45 minutes one way to a Walmart to buy an electric griddle. My fiancé loved the lakefront fishing. He caught so many fish. Watching the sun rise and set over the lake was beautiful. If you’re looking for peace and quiet and don’t mind no indoor bathroom I’d highly recommend Sunset Shore Cabin

The spot is complete tranquility. In a span of 3 days, I only had one passerby on an ATV, otherwise it is basically in the woods, and the nature is impressive all around you. There is no power and barely any cel coverage (almost none really) so be ready for that, but there was plenty of wood for the woodstove, and I was offered to stay an extra 12+ hours if I needed, which added to the "no stress" time I had. The hosts are quick to respond and let me be otherwise. I would stay again.
