Enjoy hiking, biking, climbing, hammocking, watching wild animals, star gazing, etc. Sorry, no sounds of the city. Host will send you driving directions that need to be printed. There is a short hike (4 to 5 minutes) to each camp site from the Common Parking area, so I suggest packing as lightly as possible. Feel free to use the supplied cart to carry your gear. Campers have also enjoyed kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, hiking, and the mountain biking trails at Phillips Lake, which is a little over eight miles from TT. For trails, visit Trailforks.com and search Phillips Lake. Trails range from Easy to Black Diamond. This area used to have train tracks nearby, thus the road name Old Trestle Lane. Legend has it that "there's gold in them there hills". Visit nearby gold mining town, Sumpter (about 45 minute drive), while you're here. Our nearest neighbor is about 2 miles away, we're remote, but accessible... if you don't mind a couple of miles of gravel road. We're in a dark spot, perfect for laying out in the lounge chairs and admiring the Milky Way in an indescribable setting. At night, the only lights visible truly are the moon and stars. Bring your telescope if you've got one! COOKING + DINING: Prepare your meals in our simple, yet functional outdoor kitchen. There's camp stove, picnic table, wash station, and firepit*. The water spigot is located at the north end of the cabin porch. This is a shared area, but we rarely have both accommodations booked at the same time. We've recently decided to make our DELUXE CAMP KITCHEN complimentary**! You won't have to worry about bringing cookware, dishes, cutlery, knives, cutting boards, a can opener, a bottle opener, basic seasonings, or dish washing necessities! **We just ask that you let us know when a seasoning or condiment is running low and that you please wash and return everything to its original spot to avoid an additional cleaning fee of $35. *Please don't use the firepit if a burn ban is in effect. SHOWERING + WHATNOT: Enjoy a luxurious shower in our outdoor shower house, complete with skylight and on-demand hot water. Towels are provided. The building also contains a fabulous composting loo. On the rare occasion that we also have guests staying in the other site, we'll try to coordinate so that you don't disturb each other. They're both about two acres (barbed wire fenced) and are right below the main house/cabin. SUSTAINABILITY: We're kinda into crunchy stuff like solar power, composting, sustainability, salvage/upcycling/recycling, and supporting local farmers - artisans - businesses. 1 night at Karibu Cabin

Nathan’s hunting cabin is absolutely perfect if you’re looking for a super secluded, extremely private, unplugged getaway. Nestled in the trees, on the most beautiful land, it’s just you and nature and all the stars you could ever hope for. The views are spectacular and the vibes are tranquil and serene. Nathan was easy to communicate with when our gps took us on a wrong turn and extremely helpful with getting us back on the right track. The cabin has propane lanterns for lighting but I suggest bringing some safe-burning candles and enjoying a romantic night in nature. We will definitely be back!

2 nights at Towering Tamaracks

This was a great spot! My husband and I stayed here as a pit stop on our way to Washington and we're so happy we did! The weather was perfect for us and nobody else was camping around, so it was so nice and quiet and peaceful. The directions that Matt recommended we print out made it easy to find, as well. From the communal space, the hike to TT4 only took us 2 mins, but we're avid hikers from Colorado so it was easy peasy. The drive up was also not bad; less than a handful of spots with some dips/bumps/gravel patches that should be easy to navigate even if you don't have high clearance (but if you've ever driven trails in the Rocky Mountains, then this should be a breeze for ya lol). There were even gallons of water and a shovel waiting for us at the campsite, though there were fire restrictions while we were there. All around great spot to spend some time at while passing through!

Weekend Trip to Timbers RV Paradise

What a lovely, comfortable spot! There’s a pond on the property, replete with cattails, grebes and ducks. But the jewel in the crown is the exceptional hosts! When the night temperatures dropped to 46F, my host loaned me a wonderful quilt. When I was too lazy to cook breakfast, my hostess made me a delicious meatless sandwich. I have had a great time and plan to stop again on my way back from seeing the Redwoods and Sequoias. I highly recommend this place and the super hosts (Outstanding sandwich, Sandy!).

So so beautiful- definitely worth the drive. Check your email for instructions, Matt is pretty on top of the communications. Highly recommend printing out the map/instructions, makes for a quicker, safer journey. Overall, great experience!

Our 3 generation family really enjoyed ourselves at this cozy cabin in Eastern Oregon. Our passenger van made it through no problem on the dirt road in along with our travel trailer. The cabin was so homey, had everything we needed and the views were amazing. One night there was an amazing sunset followed by a thunderstorm which our young grandchildren loved dancing in the rain!

5 nights at Karibu Cabin

It was wonderful staying in such a cozy cabin deep in the forest surrounded by 160 acres of private forest land! I saw plenty of wildlife including a herd of elk, and deer and even a black bear during my 5 night stay! The view of Fox valley was incredible to wake up to and fall asleep to each day! I am thankful for the opportunity to spend time in such a place and only wish I could have stayed longer!
