Getaway In Nature Preserve

1 site · Lodging82 acres · Jacksonville, OR
Beautiful custom yurt set on an 82 acre nature preserve in the heart of Applegate Valley wine country. The space is private and secluded but only minutes away from wineries and 15 minutes from shopping and eateries in historic Jacksonville. There are forests and wildlife to explore on the property and access to nearby attractions like the Applegate River, Applegate Lake, Crater Lake, Cascade Siskiyou NM, Oregon Caves, Shakespeare Festival, etc. This place is truly unique and tranquil! - The yurt has three spaces- the main yurt space, the kitchen, and the bathroom. All areas have doors separating the spaces. We have electricity throughout with heating - Our main water supply is a well which is safe to drink - The bathroom has low flow flushing toilet with composting tank beneath structure and graywater system for shower, etc. Please don't flush anything but toilet paper. We provide biodegradable soap/shampoo/cleaning supplies, please use these or similar natural cleaning products when possible - We have designated spaces, next to and below, the yurt to spend time outside but feel free to explore on the property! - We have wifi available (Starlink) which is mostly reliable and consistent although occasionally it goes out for a short period of time in the evenings. Cell service can be somewhat limited, depending on your carrier. We recommend turning on wifi calling when in the yurt to help increase cell service - Jacksonville is the closest larger town (approx. 20 min drive) which has shopping, a grocery store, post office, eateries, etc. but if you need to grab something in a pinch, there is a small grocery store, hardware store, and a drive through coffee shop in Ruch (approx. 5 mins drive) from yurt. We are located approx. 30 mins from larger stores like Costco, Trader Joes, Fred Meyer, Target, etc. in Medford Animals: We allow up to 2 dogs - Dogs should be kept on leash at all times, there are many wild animals that call the property home! Our property gets frequented by deer, turkeys, lots of squirrels, and skunks. - Dog bowls, towels + blankets, and waste bags for animals are available in the yurt- please use them during your stay - We love animals and want to keep our space pet friendly. While we do not charge a pet fee, we ask that you help minimize wear and tear on our space by keeping animals off of the furniture, ensure animals don't scratch floors and furniture, and clean up excessive hair/dirt before leaving.

Suncatcher Homestead

1 site · Lodging3 acres · Azalea, OR
Suncatcher is a creek-side small farm and homestead located 3 miles east of exit 88 on Interstate 5 in Azalea, Oregon. We tend to an established fruit orchard, veggie gardens, and a small flock of egg laying hens. We are inspired by permaculture practices and are always working on turning the property into a food forest with an off-grid guesthouse and lots of fun natural building projects. The yurt has a queen sized loft bed with organic cotton sheets, organic cotton comforter with duvet cover, a woodstove, and a folding mattress. You are also welcome to bring your own sleeping gear. There is a wood stove for the winter months, a solar powered refrigerator, a propane stove and oven, along with a sink, and kitchen countertop space. We provide plant based dish and hand soaps. There is a composting toilet. We make and sell refined sugar free fruit jam along with produce and sprouted + stoneground nut butters at local farmer's markets. All of our farm goods are available for sale. Be sure to ask about orchard raised fresh eggs, seasonal fruit jam, and sprouted nut butter. We are located just 4 miles down creek from the Galesville Reservoir and about 1 1/2 hours from Crater Lake. The site is easily accessible. You will have a view of the pasture, gardens, greenhouse, orchards and the host's private residence.

Sis Q Ranch

7 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents43 acres · Fort Jones, CA
If you are a hiker or biker (pedal or gas), kayaker, quiet time reader or anyone wanting to get away from city lights and noise (we do have occasional farm machinery noise) you'd love visiting us in Scott Valley, Siskiyou County, true Northern California! Sis-Q Ranch is a small working ranch that is 9 miles from our nearest town of Fort Jones (Population 660). We have limited tent space that is shaded most of the day with access to tiled bathrooms and hot showers. It is filled with wild birds surrounded by hundreds of agricultural acreage. Wildlife of cougar, bear, coyote, bobcat, raccoon, skunk, etc are our local neighbors. We are quiet, secluded, and off the beaten path. We are family & pet friendly. Our night sky has been rated as the darkest possible providing an absolutely clear view of our universe! Come watch the Space Station on some evenings!!!! We even offer free firewood for a campfire, though there is no grate for cooking! Sis-Q Ranch is located in the mythical State of Jefferson. If you love the outdoors, you can hike the beautiful Marble Mountain Wilderness, explore forest trails on your mountain bike, or cycle the historic roads and byways of Scott Valley. Swimming is offered on the Scott River a few miles from the Ranch or at smaller streams nearby. If you love history, Scott Valley has opportunities to learn more about the Old West. Our Valley was formerly known as Beaver Valley, and played an important role during the settlement of the West. Fort Jones was a military establishment, and the entire area was very active during the Gold Rush. Many historic sites are found in and around the local communities of Fort Jones, Greenview, Etna, and Callahan. The Fort Jones Museum holds a lot of information about our two local native American tribes: the Shasta and Karuk. It is also famous for its fabulous collection of rocks and minerals.
