Azalea Grove far exceeds expectations and other Hip Camp experiences. A beautiful forest setting with a creek, pond, meadows and trails but with a proper restroom for that less-than- roughing it experience.
If you’re looking for a quiet place not far from the freeway to unwind, disconnect and reconnect with nature, this is your spot. Highly recommended.

From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and cared for in a way that went beyond what you normally expect from a host. The land itself is beautiful—peaceful, clean, and surrounded by nature that invites you to slow down and breathe—but what made this experience truly memorable was the kindness of the host.
Anthony was generous with his time and spirit, making sure I had everything I needed and going out of his way to create a space that felt safe, open, and genuinely hospitable. There’s something grounding about staying in a place where the person who looks after it clearly pours not just work, but heart into it.
This wasn’t just a campsite, it was an experience—calm, restorative, and touched by a rare sense of human connection. I left feeling lighter, grateful, and with a memory I’ll carry with me for a long time.
Highly recommend to anyone who wants more than just a spot to pitch a tent. This is a place of kindness, beauty, and presence.

We showed up late and set up camp in the meadow. We didn’t realize there was actually better camp spots back in the trees a little bit until we were already set up. Haha we were so exhausted we fell asleep early and left early. But the bathroom was clean, and the campsite and the host was nice.

Starry Night campsite was beautiful, and so peaceful! The whole Azela Grove area was delightful! We had electricity for our class B van, and enjoyed the showers and bathroom. We highly recommend and would stay again.

Great communication and they were great about a last minute reservation. Super handy place and felt very safe. Dogs were friendly and well behaved. Near highway but almost no traffic at night. Good work space for cooking if you are tent camping. Hose was super handy. No toilet but sounds like it's in the works. Watch out for poison oak (typical for this area).

Such a lovely place! Jane and Tom are great hosts. I appreciated the beautiful space, which felt very wonderfully secluded despite not being too far off the beaten path, and all of their great tips for the area. The deck above the creek was a favorite spot, as was the labyrinth. We saw so many deer and beautiful birds. We’d definitely come back!

This was a nice place in a wooded area. Even though there were a lot of campers it was still quiet and felt private. Brandon went out of his way to be helpful. It is very dog friendly and has a fenced area for them to be off leash. There were also extras like a microwave and coffee pot in the laundry room and a dishwashing sink for tenters.
