Weekend Trip to Dogwood Cabin

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin is excellent and the property is beautiful! Very nice time in the woods!

4 nights at WALKAbOUT Creek Campground

We had a great experience staying at Bear Cabin! We had to find something semi last minute in the area, and this was such a hidden gem! Far enough away from town to feel like you are in the middle of the woods but close enough that you don't have to drive too far for groceries. Cabin was very clean and beds were very comfortable. Area around the cabin was very spacious and we had plenty of room for the kids to run around. Walkabout also had numerous things that anyone can use, including an arcade, to keep us busy no matter the weather. The only downside was not being able to drive up to the cabin, however they did provide a wagon they we could use to take trips back and forth. Would highly recommend and would stay here again!

We had the best time and plan to return ! Clean and cute accommodations… the perfect little get away. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The owners are really nice .

2 nights at At Whispering Pines Ringgold

We loved this cabin. With the porch on two sides of the cabin, the fire pit area and picnic table there are plenty of cool spots to hang out and relax. Had fun playing horseshoes too. There are two comfortable queen beds and a small couch that pulls out into a twin bed as well. The kitchen had what we needed and between the electric fireplace and the ceiling fans and AC you will never get too hot or cold. Thanks for a great stay Chad. I appreciated how quickly you answered our questions. We will be back

This is a gem of a glamping spot. Privacy, trails, cozy. The host provides all the essentials. As a solo traveler, I feel super safe and secure. Very dog friendly. Such a cute and unique place. I love it and look forward to returning.

Weekend Trip to Pleasant Valley Farm Camp

Hosted a craft camp recently with 10 women and had a wonderful time at the farm. Shelia and her family were very open to communication throughout the booking process and during the stay. We had cold weather and she was incredibly efficient with our requests for more wood and questions about the hot water (which worked well throughout our stay). Grateful for wagons to use for unpacking and packing and a clean porta potty throughout the weekend. The property is as advertised with exceptional service. The cinnamon rolls are a must have!

Weekend Trip to Woody Acres

This was a really great experience. The cabin we stayed at had a king size bed, was clean, had a very cute design, a little garden outside and a fire pit. I paid extra for the fire wood and it was ready for us when we got there. Katherine and her partner were really good hosts and were really friendly to us. I would recommend this 100% and plan on coming back, myself.

The Conifer Cabin was a lovely little spot. We loved the privacy of being nestled in the trees, grilling out and sitting by the fire, and our dog had a blast running around the fenced in area. The eggs from the chickens onsite were a great touch, too!

Weekend Trip to Pleasant Valley Farm Camp

We love camping at this spot! The area is always clean and accessible. The communal pavilion with running water is a huge plus. There is a Porta Potty which is always in great shape. The hosts are super responsive and kind-they were great when we needed to purchase some extra firewood. There is a grate so you can cook over the campfire. There are TONS of great hiking trails, a pretty stream, and farm animals. We also love this spot because it is right down the road from Wooly Pig Brewery and a great little market called McKenna's Farm Market.

Weekend Trip to Near/Far Cabin and Campground

This is my second time staying at this cabin with friends and easily my favorite :) It has everything you need from a grill, coffee machine, yoga mat, to an outdoor shower. I love all the personal touches in the cabin too and was pleasantly surprised with a little vase + plant on the table :) you can tell they put a lot into this cabin and love it very much! Will continue visiting in the near future.

The cabin was so rustic and cute, and the privacy was wonderful. We enjoyed the birdsong and frogs calling. We enjoyed being off grid and brought our yeti cooler and a string of battery powered LED lights for evenings. The propane cookstove worked great. We really enjoyed our stay although there were a few things that could be improved. We understand rustic, we do rustic, we love rustic. However rustic does not mean the grass shouldn't be mowed (it was a foot high in spots), or that the cabin shouldn't be clean (mouse droppings everywhere-especially 2nd floor which we didn't use), or that the cabin couldn't be made more comfortable (more than one screened window per floor would allow better airflow). And not sure what's up with the water. We've used cistern stored water before, but this water smelled like poop! If you ran the spigot awhile, the smell would dissipate somewhat. But next time you used it, back to the poop smell. But even so, the pros outweighed the cons, and we would stay again if in the area.

But, there is an RV section up front for those with quiet generators with several feet of gravel under the grass to hold the weight of your camper. We charge by the carload & there are different rates for driving back toward the woods for camping depending on the number of wheels & the weight of your vehicle (a factor on the wear & tear on the land). We believe in going outside to play, growing & eating fresh food, strengthening family bonds and promoting the awareness of our natural resources. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: 1) The speed limit is 5 mph as soon as you enter the property (kids & dogs are quick to dart in front of you). 2) As a state registered campground, it is mandatory that you check in at the house to fill out a Registration Form before heading to your campsite. 3) No glass allowed anywhere on the property (we don't want our feet or paws cut open and can do without flat tires). 4) Children under 18 must be attended to at all times for their safety (the frog pool is 10' deep, the pond is 8-10' deep depending on rains, and the creek can turn into a churning river). The cats and poultry are free range so if you are fearful of chickens, ducks or turkeys, you probably shouldn't stay here. 😁 Owners Chuck and Amanda moved from Northern California and re-established their rescue here in Central Ohio. We have two finished studio cabins. They are very close (2 miles) to the town of Mount Vernon, OH with hiking trails on the property. Pets are allowed but there are free range animals on the property so their safety is priority. We have added a 2 acre fenced in area for dogs off leash. It's our version of a Dog Park. Plenty of bike trails around town and only 20 miles to Mohican State Park. Farm fresh eggs from our rescued chickens and local honey are available for purchase. Money from our vacation rental helps with feeding our rescue animals and expanding our non-profit animal sanctuary.
