The massive timbers and joinery are constant reminders of the meticulous craftsmanship of the era. Jim and Kathy Grogg purchased Pleasant Valley Farm in 1994 and not only updated the house and barn, but also expanded the lake to its current 13 acres. Pet fee of $5 per dog (max 2 dogs), along with wood, snacks, and bottles of water for sale. If you can let me know of the pet situation prior I would appreciate it. This is meant to be a quiet relaxing getaway and is what I offer. April through October the foliage is beautiful, November through March the leaves may be more on the ground than in the trees; allowing an openness that hinders the purpose of seclusion. Plus, it tends to be chilly mornings at that time but to some this part is perfect. We look forward to your stay.

Other things to note: Helpful to have a car even though campus is so close. 1/4 of the 25 minute walk to campus is along a state route. There is a beautiful longer walk to avoid the highway along a bike trail but if you have places to be, either ask us for a ride or best you have your own vehicle :) I walk all the time. Very doable just depends on your preference.

We had a wonderful stay here! The facilities were nice and the grounds beautiful - I definitely recommend a walk around the fishing pond. The autumnal foliage was gorgeous mid-October. Staff was responsive and even brought us extra firewood on a chilly evening when the camp store was out.

The property was nicely cared for and private. The host was friendly and greeted us on arrival, showed us around the site, and made sure we had everything we needed. The "bathroom" is a Home Depot bucket with a toilet lid, which was a new experience for us. However, it was cleaner and just as nice (if not nicer) than most porta pottys. Just bring a umbrella if it rains :) There is a bit of traffic noise off in the distance, but this didn't bother us.

This is my go to spot. I come to this beautiful property a couple of times a year. James and his wife are so sweet and helpful. They maintain everything really well. Beware the wood site is full of ticks! We were pulling them off of our dogs constantly. But the site is very private and a perfect getaway.

Jim greeted us as soon as we pulled in and was absolutely lovely. His property is clearly very cared for and built with a lot of love. His pond is perfect for relaxing and our pup had an amazing time. There's a Walmart about 8 minutes away, which was great considering I forgot about 10 items haha. We will definitely come back and camp again!

Really pretty, well taken care of place. Level site worth a wood deck. Host was helpful and friendly. Lots of permanent residents had really fun Halloween decorations. We thought we were getting away from the Interstate to a quieter spot but didn't realize that it was right of of a busy highway and there was a lot of truck noise. I used earplugs and it didn't bother me.

This is a beautiful property with everything you could want for a relaxing camping trip. I was greeted warmly and my campsite was clean and ready to go. Restrooms are available in a gorgeous barn near the house. There are hiking trails, fishing, swimming, and loads of birds to watch if that’s your thing. Even an eagle made an appearance! My dog and I had the best time and will definitely be back!
