Croaky Oak Clearing of Good Knights Reserve is located in Ohio and a 25-30 minute drive to Dublin. You'll have nothing but peace and privacy on the back 15 acres of the property. A 1/2 mile drivable path will take you to the one site offered. Here you can pitch your tent, build a campfire, catch and release a few fish from the pond, or choose to sit on the floating dock with your feet in the water. There are also a few short trails to meander through. The camp site sits next to a large wetland in cooperation with ODNR, Division of Wildlife so you'll hear the sound of croaking frogs and various other creatures communicating back and forth. A clean porta-john is close by and a small charcoal grill and picnic table with seating for 8 is available. The peaceful 20-acre country farm has food gardens, a frog habitat pool, a barnyard for the chickens & ducks, a bluegill fishin' pond, a pollinator maze, a prairie garden, and an outdoor stage. After crossing a winding creek into 10 acres of woods, you may see deer, turkey, fox, coyote, mink, eagles & barred owls.
In early spring, the peepers are peeping, wildflowers are abundant & the vernal pools welcome the wood frogs, salamanders and fairy shrimp. Summer brings on the bullfrogs, butterflies, dragonflies and fireflies. Fall is a great time to pull grapevine to make wreaths & to build stick forts in the woods.
We cater to the tent camper so that we can hear frogs & owls instead of generators. But, there is an RV section up front for those with quiet generators with several feet of gravel under the grass to hold the weight of your camper.
We charge by the carload & there are different rates for driving back toward the woods for camping depending on the number of wheels & the weight of your vehicle (a factor on the wear & tear on the land). We believe in going outside to play, growing & eating fresh food, strengthening family bonds and promoting the awareness of our natural resources.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: 1) The speed limit is 5 mph as soon as you enter the property (kids & dogs are quick to dart in front of you). 2) As a state registered campground, it is mandatory that you check in at the house to fill out a Registration Form before heading to your campsite. 3) No glass allowed anywhere on the property (we don't want our feet or paws cut open and can do without flat tires). 4) Children under 18 must be attended to at all times for their safety (the frog pool is 10' deep, the pond is 8-10' deep depending on rains, and the creek can turn into a churning river).

This was exactly the kind of stop I needed after an 800+ mile travel day. The site was easy to locate, and the host went above and beyond from the moment I booked. They kept me updated on weather conditions during my long drive, which I really appreciated.
Upon arrival, I was greeted warmly and given options for parking my setup. Before I even settled in, the host invited me in for a hot cup of tea and genuine conversation - such a thoughtful touch after hours on the road. They made sure I had everything I needed before letting me get comfortable for the night.
The combination of excellent communication, easy access, and genuine hospitality made this a memorable stay. If you’re looking for a host who truly cares about their guests’ experience, especially after a long journey, this is your spot. Highly recommend!

We had a quick stop over at James farm on a road trip West and it was everything we needed. He responded quickly and even got us some fire wood last minute. We didn’t get to meet as we arrived late and left early but it was a beautiful place. The bathroom in the barn a great plus!

Easy to find and park even in the dark. Christy was super nice and nobody bothered us while we were there. She had a porta potty which was nice and better than the one we had with us.

Chris set up was perfect. Ideal for those not wanting to stray to far from the interstate but also not want to stay in the city. I had a late arrival and they were very accommodating and was quick to respond to messages to help me locate the driveway due to the darkness. Would highly recommend, sad I has to head out early to beat out storms. But would definitely stay again.

This gem of a place was a wonderful surprise! Friendliest hosts on a beautiful property that was perfect for stretching our legs and running the dog! We loved the native wildflower maze even though stumbling across the Halloween props at night gave us a spook 👻

1 night at Grins & Pickin's CampFarm
Had an amazing time at Christy's farm, she is so sweet & gracious. The barn was awesome, and the whole area was beautiful. I definitely recommend, and I'll absolutely be back!

Christy was so sweet. We enjoyed meeting her and her pup Duke! The land is immaculate and we enjoyed the marked trail through the woods and her little halloween path. She has really thought of everything. The firepit was great! I also recommend her pear chutney!!! It is also nice that we could book for one night. Thank you for your hospitality Christy! We will be back:)

I loved tent camping on the Away from the World Farm! Such a lovely place with kind hosts and adorable animals. The wooded area was perfect for camping. There was a fire pit and a picnic table. We had a lovely time.

Owners were great- he met us with his golf cart and made setting up our camp site super easy. The site itself was secluded and primative- exactly what we were looking for. Shower/bathroom was clean and very handy. Also, this site is close to the lake which was ideal for fishing. The pond on-site was also great to fish in. Had more success there than at the lake! Would recommend! Only thing to note- we brought our hammock and at this particular site we had to set it up on the entrance path as there wasn't a ton of great trees to use at this particular campsite at Fairhaven.

We’ve been staying at Christy’s farm for years. It’s amazing. I have a 10 and 7 year old, and it’s been really fun watching their interests in the farm evolve over the years. We started camping here when they were 18 months and 4.5 years old. There’s never a dull moment from the fishing pond to the frog pond to the pollinator maze to the creek. The scenery is beautiful. Christy is a wonderful host—present and available whenever you need.

Tent camping at Melissa’s was quiet and peaceful. There was a large metal fire ring perfect to enjoy an evening and morning fire. Large picnic table to sit around and a great surrounding area. Convenient indoor bathroom and shower for campers. Close to Yellow Springs.

This is my go to spot. I come to this beautiful property a couple of times a year. James and his wife are so sweet and helpful. They maintain everything really well.
Beware the wood site is full of ticks! We were pulling them off of our dogs constantly. But the site is very private and a perfect getaway.
