Pleasant Valley Farm was originally a working farm with a two-story farmhouse and traditional bank barn, built in the late 1800s. The massive timbers and joinery are constant reminders of the meticulous craftsmanship of the era. Peaceful and remote, the property has a beautiful brook that leads you to the South branch of the Portage river. Deer, turkey, geese, herons, mink and fox are just a few of our natural animal friends. Rusty the steer and his pony friends Lexi and Little Bits can be visited while they graze in the pasture. We have lived here since 2004, the blueberries have lived here for over 60 years. This site has more topography than most of the surrounding county. Learn more about this land: Several sites available on an organic blueberry farm near Oberlin College and Lake Erie. Blueberries are ripe in July. Site #2 is down by the Chance Creek, about 1/2 mile from the driveway. Very peaceful down there - a walk-in site. Site #1 is about 100 yards from the driveway, Site #1 also has access to a small shed. Both sites are woodsy and away from neighbors, roads and houses, however the interstate is not far. When the wind blows from the north you can barely hear it, but when a south wind blows and/or there is rain on the interstate, it can be pretty loud. We don't have a latrine. We have two "luggable-loo's" if you need them, have liners, too.

The property was nicely cared for and private. The host was friendly and greeted us on arrival, showed us around the site, and made sure we had everything we needed. The "bathroom" is a Home Depot bucket with a toilet lid, which was a new experience for us. However, it was cleaner and just as nice (if not nicer) than most porta pottys. Just bring a umbrella if it rains :) There is a bit of traffic noise off in the distance, but this didn't bother us.

Jay is a very good host and was very flexible with us. The drive into the sites is interesting since you have to drive through his grass. If it is rainy I would recommend 4/all wheel drive. The area was great! Sites were secluded in a tree dense area and around 25 minuets away is the large town of Findlay. Plenty of hikes and parks around as well! Ultimately it was a great stay, and I would definitely come back!

This is my go to spot. I come to this beautiful property a couple of times a year. James and his wife are so sweet and helpful. They maintain everything really well. Beware the wood site is full of ticks! We were pulling them off of our dogs constantly. But the site is very private and a perfect getaway.

Elaina's property is gorgeous. My stay there was just what I needed. I had chosen the site that was a short drive past the pond and through the woods. The meadow, stream and wooded area provided just the kind of peace and quiet I was looking for. There is a fire ring and a table at the site and plenty of level options for renting or carcamping. Deer and turkeys were nearby keeping me company. I would absolutely go back to this spot. Elaina and her family have a hidden gem here. Two thumbs up!
