Just renovated for winter camping! Completely sealed up and draft free. Still a very primitive site, but the interior now keeps in the warmth from the fireplace. A set of bunk beds and a4 seat table as well as some could makes it work for up to 6 people. Plenty of tent area around of you have a bigger group! Sunnyday's farm and forest was a Christmas tree farm in the 1950's. I've owned it for the last 30 years and it is now a horse farm with pastures and woods. Rustic area of 25 acres of pastures and forest bordering a hundred of acres of railroad and municipal forest. Great for hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking. 1.5 miles from Deer Lakes park which has fishing, hiking, mountain biking, frisbee course and a great playground. The Allegheny river, judged to be one of the cleanest in the country, is just 6 miles away. Harrison Hills park offers great hiking along the river and an occasional river otter. The Rachel Carson Trail and Baker trail are just a few miles away. It is a secluded log cabin in the woods on top of a hill overlooking a pasture. It is a very primitive cabin with a fireplace, brick floor, large porch, fabric interior and no chinking in the logs. We provide a bunk bed and cots and 2 picnic tables.. There is a large grassy area in front of the cabin for tents. There is no vehicle access, no electricity and no water at the cabin, but LOTS of downed wood for fires. There are horses, goats, chickens, ducks and a pig that roam the pastures. The cabin is about 300 yards from the parking area up a fairly steep hill, but the location is worth the walk! If you're stopping with an RV or trailer we have ample parking near the road and have overnight accommodations for horses Great place for a stopover.

This small farm is 7 acres of the original 25 my great grandmother purchased for her family in 1934. Guests can enjoy the cabin as well as the barn, which has been converted to a rec area. Make our home and green space yours for a few days. Camp in comfort in our "little cabin in the woods." Accommodates up to six guests, with a queen-sized bed, a futon and two low single beds in the loft, accessible only by ladder. Kids 6 and older may sleep in the loft-- just like Laura and Mary-- and they can read a chapter of one of Laura Ingalls' "Little House" books before bed! We want the place in top shape for you, and we will not mow or weed-wack near your site during your stay. Absolutely loved this place. My husband and I stayed the weekend to explore the area for our final trip for the year. The cabin was so cozy,we did have our air mattress with us just incase I was unable to sleep on the futon but was surprisingly comfortable. We were exploring most of the time but getting to see and pet the horses was amazing. Thank you for opening your home to us.

Our stay was perfect, the site is beautiful and well kept and the host was very welcoming and kind to our two boys. She showed us all their animals and told us their backstories and even let our oldest help feed the chickens. She provided snacks for the horses which we were able to feed whenever we wanted. They come right up to the tent site and the cabin. We felt very safe and it was easy to find when driving in. Each animal we interacted with was good, the turkey will climb on your shoulder and the cats will sit on you by the fire. We are very happy and plan to come back again! If you want a more private stay I would recommend booking both the tent site and the cabin if possible. The out house and fire pit are communal so if you don’t you’ll end up getting cozy with some strangers.
