Nice quiet location. Still a bit off season so not many people around. We fit nicely on the pad with our 31 foot class C and car. Minimal leveling needed in our site. Great location close to Logan, Hocking State Park, and Nelsonville. We visited the Jack Pine glass studio and the Rocky boot outlet. Everyone at campground was friendly and helpful. The facilities were clean which definitely wins points with me!!

Weekend Trip to Salt Creek Camp at Sunnyvale Farm

This HipCamp is only 10 minutes from campus. It is a great option for visiting the college without having to pay crazy hotel prices! Also, the host is fabulous. This past weekend was so wet that our camper ended up getting a little stuck. Ed, the host, offered to let us leave it until it dries out or pull us out! He is so helpful and accommodating. Cannot recommend this option enough!

The Bus stay at Woody's was great! It rained through the night and we were nice and dry. We had a short visit, but super relaxing. Pre-ordered fire starter and wood and it was covered n dry and just waiting to be lite, which was very convenient. Loved having water to wash hands/brush teeth in the bus. Option to use stove in the bus as well, even though we didn't need it this time. Comfortable bed and peaceful atmosphere. The bus is located far enough from other sites, to be private, but close enough to use the outhouse. Loved also having water and soap outside the outhouse to wash hands. Would definitely return to this property and spend multi days there instead of just a one night quick trip.

Great hosts, awesome site with sounds of small stream and privacy yet close enough to hocking hills hiking for easy day hikes. Hot shower and ample firewood are extra bonuses! Would definitely stay again!

Weekend Trip to Woody Acres

This was our first camping trip as a family, and we needed to find something more comfortable than a tent for the little ones first trip. Directions provided by the host made settling in a breeze. The hospitality surpassed expectations, and they even offered us coffee one morning! Everything from the camper to the privy was super clean. We spent one morning exploring the trails on the property, and then visited a nearby cave that was only about 15 minutes away. Very informative conversations about the area and recommendations of things to do from the host. We even got to observe the process of processing, and tanning animal hides! Austin also offers some very useful survival classes you can add on to your trip, and we look forward to learning more next time!

I absolutely loved the Hickory Hut! The property is very secluded, and Austin and Kate made us feel right at home on the property. This is certainly a little hidden gem, and I am really looking forward to getting the opportunity to come stay again. Thank you both for having us!

2 nights at Yourway Camp

Nice remote feel to it. South facing ridge so in Fall/Winter you can see both sunrise and sunset from site 3. My little 2006 Honda CRV got up there no problem, with a caveat that my I have trail tires on it (Falken Wildpeaks A/T Trail). Put it in first gear and turn off the VSA. Keep a constant lo speed to climb the hill to the amazing campsite. Gunning it will cause tires to spin and lose grip.

We stayed in a pull-thru RV spot. The location is very clean and quiet. We needed bundles of firewood after normal hours and they were kind and answered and brought us 2 bundles. We will camp here next time we go to Hocking Hills.

Wonderful hosts, thoughtful and cozy accommodations, and beautiful land! Don’t miss this place! Everything you need to comfortably enjoy your time in the beautiful hills of southeastern Ohio. If you’re inspired by homestead living, sustainability, and sharing quality time with new friends and the ones you already love, you’ll never want to leave. Don’t forget to sign up for the survival skills! I learned a lot and it was so fun learning from Austin. He’s a true expert and a natural teacher.

Very sweet, little cabin, simple amenities but everything you need! You can tell it was stocked and decorated with intention. Kate, one of the owners, came by and introduced herself and offered us veggies from her garden. The sites are within view of each other while still being far enough apart to provide privacy. Would definitely recommend to anybody but specifically to people who want to try out more of a glamping experience instead of camping.

Peaceful night’s sleep and wonderful host. He was planting trees while we were there which will offer more privacy and sound dampening from road in the future - but we were not bothered by the cars driving by. We also enjoyed a short walk across to the Hocking River. We would definitely stay there again.

Upon booking, you'll receive our personal cell numbers and a guidebook filled with local recommendations. State Parks/Nature Preserves nearby are: Rockhouse ( 6.5 miles ) Conkles Hollow ( 10.5 miles ) Whispering Cave ( 14 miles ) Old Man's Cave ( 14 miles ) Ash Cave ( 13 miles ) and several more! There are over a mile of private Hiking trails on the property. We are working with local naturalists to ensure that we maintain a healthy forest. Sunnyvale Farm est. 1949 - is a 240 acre tree and grain farm nestled in the foothills of Southeast Ohio and situated along the Hocking River. Almost 200 acres of the farm is forested with many changes in elevation. This is a great place to sit back and relax or use as a base camp for your exploration of nature. Just 3 minutes from the Bailey mountain bike trails and the Hockhocking Adena bikeway. We are also 30 minutes from the Hocking Hills or 15 minutes from Strouds Run State Park and if you are a little more adventurous, you are welcome to hike the farm with many uphill climbs or an easier hike to see the little grotto. If going into town is more your speed, Athens is a few minutes away and you can be on the campus of Ohio University in less than 10 minutes without having to leave paved roads.

Just outside your tent, Feather Ridge features Wheelabout Creek running the entire width of the property for onsite wade fishing and kayaking, and borders the state forest where you will find 28k acres of rolling hills, gorgeous rock formations and furnaces that the area is so well-known for that act as trailheads and landmarks, abundant wildlife and even a cave or two! All there for great hiking and hunting - directly accessible from the property! Feel free to wander straight up the hill from the parking area and once you’ve passed the yellow marked trees, you’re in the state forest! If you’re looking to enjoy the beauties of the region and not be too far from everything it has to offer, Feather Ridge is your spot! You don’t have to drive miles into the woods to find it - S.R. 278 is the direct access point to our property providing convenient and quick access to parks and any amenities you may need. Our aim is for EVERY camper to enjoy this property as much as we have. Whether it’s casting a line, challenging yourself to hike that extra mile, or throwing a blanket down and taking in nature - we hope your stay here is enjoyable and creates great memories! We currently offer three primitive campsites with two chairs, a side table, and fire ring.
