Weekend Trip to Hilltop Resorts and Campgrounds

Nice quiet location. Still a bit off season so not many people around. We fit nicely on the pad with our 31 foot class C and car. Minimal leveling needed in our site. Great location close to Logan, Hocking State Park, and Nelsonville. We visited the Jack Pine glass studio and the Rocky boot outlet. Everyone at campground was friendly and helpful. The facilities were clean which definitely wins points with me!!

Such a nice campsite with a fire place at every site. I went when no one was there but it was super easy to find and had a variety of campsites to choose from.

4 nights at Pop's Place Camping

Pop's Place, Moose Cabin, was fantastic as were the hosts, Ed and Michelle! The cabin was pristine, clean, warm, and very well maintained. Michelle and Ed are very responsive to messages and are continuously improving camp. Although it rained all four days, we still had a great time and appreciated the hosts recommendations for rainy day activities. The shower was an added bonus and was pleasantly warm. I hope to return in the future! Thanks Ed and Michelle!

6 nights at Chipmunk Ridge

I had a wonderful time here. We stayed for a week and got to experience several thunder storms. Peaceful and serene location will lots of amenities. About a 30 min drive to the nearest town for resupply. While there is no TV there is WiFi and a small desk with a PC display and HDMI cable that I was able to plug into so I could complete some work. The shower, stove, and toilet all made the stay very comfortable. The wood burning stove was excellent as was the hvac system with A/C and heat, a refrigerator, and propane range in the kitchen. Would definitely stay again. Perfect for a romantic stay.

Second time here and would stay more often if I wasn't six hours away, great peaceful place that is out in the country but really close to the neat town of Millersburg which has not only all the old interesting parts of town but a modern outskirts with 100% anything you need. We tented again but did check out the new cabins Matt offers and they look super neat with wood stove and all!!

This really is a must visit cabin! Pj was a huge help when my wife and I and of course our fur baby came to stay during the new years. The cabin was so cozy, clean, and just perfect for some much needed relaxation. We will be back for sure!

A beautiful place to disconnect and enjoy time in nature. The place is super cozy. Even our 2 year old & 4 month old enjoyed it. Our dog loved the open area she could run off leash safely & explore. We stayed in a pull-thru RV spot. The location is very clean and quiet. We needed bundles of firewood after normal hours and they were kind and answered and brought us 2 bundles. We will camp here next time we go to Hocking Hills.

We had a great time at the Bear Cabin. It was clean and comfortable…just the right amount of “creaturely comforts” (beds, heat, bathroom, coffee pot, fridge) for a pleasant stay while maintaining a similar feel to camping. The location was very quiet and peaceful. Just as advertised.

The primitive campground is in the corner of a small 40 acre farm owned by Matt Polcyn. He started the campground 8 years ago because of his love for nature and real camping. He enjoys traveling in many places in the States and the Caribbean islands and loves finding places off of the beaten path and not commercialized. Owners Chuck and Amanda moved from Northern California and re-established their rescue here in Central Ohio. We have two finished studio cabins. They are very close (2 miles) to the town of Mount Vernon, OH with hiking trails on the property. Pets are allowed but there are free range animals on the property so their safety is priority. We have added a 2 acre fenced in area for dogs off leash. It's our version of a Dog Park. Plenty of bike trails around town and only 20 miles to Mohican State Park. Farm fresh eggs from our rescued chickens and local honey are available for purchase. Money from our vacation rental helps with feeding our rescue animals and expanding our non-profit animal sanctuary.

Dogwood Cabin

Dogwood Cabin is an off grid experience. Think glamping. It is set on 25 acres in the rolling hills of Morgan County in southeast OH, close to the village of Chesterhill. Hidden in the woods, back a gravel driveway. No electricity, no running water, no central heat, no WiFi, no cell service. Truly getting out into nature without distractions. Hang your hammock between trees. Build a fire to grill your meals. Relax on the porch swing or by the fire. Hike the property, play in the creek. Dogwood Cabin has a small kitchenette. There is a propane camping stove and some pots, pans, coffee maker, and dishes. We have a grill to place over the fire pit. There are 4 mattresses in the loft. No linens. Bring sleeping bags, etc. No running water. Bring water in jugs for drinking, cleaning up and dousing the fire. Buddy propane heater to take off the chill inside, but not make it cozy. Bring a flashlight or lantern. We have several battery lanterns. On low, the lights should work for 6-8 hours. On high, much less. An outhouse (think wooden porta potty) is not far from the cabin. No cell service or internet. Chesterhill is about 2 miles and has service in numerous places on Main St. We have gone up the hill at the church in Todds - right on Goshen Run, left on St Rt 377, about 2 miles. Firewood is not provided. You can bring your own or scrounge the woods for dead branches and twigs. Please douse the fire before leaving. Rake leaves away from the fire pit. Dry materials could easily start a forest fire. 8 plastic deck chairs are stacked on the porch. Please put them back and secure the cover before you leave. We encourage you to get groceries on your way to the cabin, since it is 30 minutes to a decent grocery store. Chesterhill has Ron's Convenience and Restaurant where you can buy subs, pizza, burgers, fries, and groceries. Triple Nickel Diner in Chesterhill is another neat place to eat. No motorcycles on the driveway. You may enjoy hiking the 25 acres on the property. Nature is awesome, but check yourselves and your pet for ticks. 24 hours before your arrival, you should receive a message with the code to get in at the digital entry door, plus a bit more information that you may enjoy.
