Nestled under the shade bequeathed by a tall canopy of deciduous trees and alongside a gentle flowing brook, lies a forest opening perfect for immersing oneself in nature.
From our parking area, our private campsite is a short walk (3-4 minutes) by way of a well maintained footpath which leads you alongside a farm pasture, to a wooded trail that empties on to a level forest understory ideal for your hammock or tent. Our campsite is equipped with the necessities: a firepit with a removable grill, a table, your own private outhouse, and unlimited sights and sounds of nature.
Trails leading from the campsite will usher you short distances to one of our best stargazing hilltops, to the shallow creek which runs alongside the campsite, through shaded forests and ridgetop views. Our pond, a short 7 minute hike, offers fishing, swimming or simply relaxing on the dock. For longer hikes, all trails connect to our larger network of maintained trails winding over hill and dale, through shaded forests and open (mowed) pasture trails offering the hiker farm-life views across our 80 acres.
To make your packing lighter and your stay more comfortable, we offer the following "extra items" at an additional cost. Please order your "extra items" at the time of booking. *Additional fees may apply for items not ordered in advance of stay.*

This place is a private spot on about 80 acres. There is a wonderful path through the woods to the top of a hill for stargazing at night. The catch and release pond is across the street on their property and just the perfect size. There are multiple trails throughout the property. Lots of wildlife and beautiful nature to immerse yourself in. The hostess is very friendly and accommodating. Oh, I would highly recommend getting the lights to surround your tent area to make it easy to find your way back if you night hike. This is the perfect place to unplug!

We chose this site for a fall friends trip and couldn't have been happier about the spot! Gorgeous views, attentive host, and decent seclusion. The site was well maintained and the retreat wasn't crowded with too many camping spots. Almost zero road noise so evenings were very peaceful. This was such a lovely trip! Between the sounds of nature, a nice fire at night, and some fishing and hiking during the day, this trip was everything that I hoped for! Beth was a lovely host, and helped me bring my stuff to and from the campsite. I'm already considering going back in the future, because I know it'll be just as peaceful and relaxing as it was this trip too!

Beth’s camp site was perfect! It was secluded and serene. The site was very well maintained. We paid extra for the string lights and jackery and it was worth it. Beth exceeded expectations as a host. She was helpful and kind. Communication was quick and clear. Scout was a fantastic welcoming, host!

Great site. Owner Dan Sr and Dan Jr were great and friendly. Awesome being able to have full hook up for our 5th wheel. 50A was available. Very quiet and was able to enjoy the evenings with just our friends who was camping with us. Will definitely stay there again.

I really enjoyed the peace and quiet of camping on Beth and Brian’s land. They were very accommodating to me (a motorcycle camper). I purchased firewood from them and it was there when I arrived. Will definitely camp here again and will shoot a video for my YouTube channel. A very nice experience that I highly recommend. But a word of caution, if you are intending to ride your motorcycle to the campsite, it better be an off-road or adventure bike. Otherwise it is best to park in the provided parking area.

This is hand's down my favorite Hipcamp yet! It's a beautiful spot, perfect for being immersed in nature and "off grid", although I did have cell reception while I was there. I had planned on using this as a base camp for exploring other parks in the area, but after arriving I didn't want or need to leave! The interconnected trails on the property provide plenty of hiking and wandering opportunities, and the pond is the perfect addition for swimming, fishing, or just relaxing.
Beth is a wonderful host! She was kind, helpful, and communicative, and her directions made getting there very easy.
I"m already planning my next trip there!

My daughter and I loved camping on Beth's property. It was beautifu, quiet, and relaxing. Beth was really nice and helped us bring all of our stuff down to the campsite. I recommend following Beth's directions she gives to the site. I can verify that GPS takes you the wrong way. Internet is spotty, so take a picture of the directions to save. This was a great private camping getaway. We loved it!!

We had a great time at Buck Run Retreat! Daniel & Daniel Jr. were amazing hosts, shared some of their garden tomatoes, and the site was beautiful. We really appreciated the full (water/electric/septic) hookup, and hiking the trails. We had great neighbors and it was a perfect weekend getaway. We'll definitely be back again!!

This is a magnificent site for a very private experience. Beth is amazing, helpful and checks in via the app to be sure you are comfortable.
I advise having a wagon to help move gear between the campsite and your vehicle, but Beth also helped with a 4 wheeler.
Plenty of trails for walking on the farm and the nice little pond for swimming and floating.
You are a short distance to Athens OH, a delightful town with all needed amenities. Also Hocking Hills and Lake Hope state parks are nearby for stuff to do in the area.

This was our second time staying at Buck Run RV Retreat, always a great experience. It’s peaceful, it’s gorgeous and the host is unbelievably kind! Our last morning we woke up to two baby deer eating and relaxing just feet away from our camper, mama just watched from the tree line, it was so sweet. Don’t hesitate, book your next stay here, you will not be disappointed. Already have another trip booked back at the same site in just a few months. This will always be a favorite place for us.
