Located roughly 20 miles from Beaver Creek State Park, DLR Mustang Ranch is a 17-acre peaceful sanctuary for many wild and previously wild mustangs. The Ranch offers veteran and first responder mustang programs year-round. Please let us know if you are a veteran or first responder for a special rate. Accommodations include a small one-room cabin nestled on a little pond a stone's throw from the main house and veteran program area. The cabin has electricity, a microwave, small refrigerator, tv, futon, heating and cooling; however, it does not have plumbing. Nearby is an outhouse with electricity and a water pump fed from well water. There is a firepit for cooking and picnic tables available. There is also a flat space for tent camping right beside the cabin area. The outhouse and firepit are shared between the cabin and tent campers. If you prefer a more secluded experience, please book both sites. There is space for an RV in the driveway next to the woods with electric hookup and access to the outhouse, water pump, and firepit. While this is a working ranch with farm animals, our aim is to create a peaceful relaxing environment in order to unwind and enjoy the creation around us. Going in the pastures with horses while unaccompanied by the owners is prohibited; however, it can be arranged for you to meet and interact with the mustangs if interested. Weekend Trip to DLR Mustang Ranch

Absolutely loved this place. My husband and I stayed the weekend to explore the area for our final trip for the year. The cabin was so cozy,we did have our air mattress with us just incase I was unable to sleep on the futon but was surprisingly comfortable. We were exploring most of the time but getting to see and pet the horses was amazing. Thank you for opening your home to us.

We planned a hunting trip and the Friendly Beasts Farm Barn Loft was a perfect choice. Spacious,clean, cookware, spices all the toiletries everything you needed for a quiet getaway,just show up with food and cloths and enjoy. The sunsets from the back deck to all the star gazing,it was truly the perfect choice. Frances and Matthew were wonderful hosts,very attentive with all our needs. Our next hunting trip I hope the Barn Loft is available.

We had a great time at Shady Maple cabin! It was a beautiful place to unwind, de-stress, and be in an amazing setting! The cabin had everything you would need for a relaxing time. We love a good log cabin and this did not disappoint! It was clean, had snacks, jacuzzi tub inside, a hot tub outside, board games, was private enough and everything worked as it should. Shout out to the hosts for sharing this beautiful property with us! Will definitely go back!

We loved staying at the cabin. It was well furnished and had an amazing view. We had a great time interacting with the farm animals, specially the horses and the cats. I don't know where to begin. This has been an incredible experience from the moment I got here. Dale and Renee are 2 of the nicest people you could ever meet. Renee goes above and beyond to make you feel like family. I fell in love with Buddy, the donkey. All of the animals from the handsome Fred the turkey to Pumpkin the cat are soo soo sweet. The horses are beautiful. I sat on the porch of the cabin and watched them across the pond. I even got a visit from 2 horses asking for treats. It was amazing!!! I can NOT recommend this place enough. It is peaceful, quaint, and feels like home away from home. I will definitely be back! Thank you for everything!!!!

Weekend Trip to DLR Mustang Ranch

I got to spend my holiday weekend at the cabin on Renee's beautiful land and ending up wishing I had booked a longer stay ...it was just the space I needed. Solo female traveler approved and amazing value for a cabin that includes so much to make your stay a comfortable one. Parking so close I had no trouble lugging my gear in. Cell phone reception was excellent (I have T-Mobile and never had an issue, though wifi is available if preferred). Super easy to find ...I Google Mapped it from the address provided and found it with absolutely no issues. It truly is a peaceful, healing space managed by the most kind, generous hosts. I spent so much time just sitting on the porch looking across the pond (which currently has a small fountain running beautiful water sounds 24/7) and taking in the view of these beautiful horses grazing back and forth, some even coming right up to the railing for treats stored just for them on the porch. It's surprisingly quiet considering it's a working farm. The hosts leave you at peace when you need your space, and there's not a lot of traffic on the small country road that runs past the place. I'm so glad I found this place and can't wait to come back and spend more time here.

This was exactly the getaway my husband and I were looking for. Being surrounded by beautiful mustangs and the quiet of the ranch was just what we needed! Renee and Dale were so inviting and very helpful. Both my husband and I learned a ton about Mustangs both at the Ranch and in the wild. We loved Ranger greeting us every morning and multiple times a day. I especially loved the time I was able to spend with Bella the partially blind paint. She was absolutely the sweetest. Looking forward to making plans to come back in the fall!

The farm was interesting, peaceful, and beautiful. The signs that described the permaculture activities were unobtrusive and insightful. There is a perfectly placed covered seating area in front of the gorgeous pond that provides a great area to watch the wildlife. The tiny house we stayed in and the bathhouse were clean and just what we needed. Recommend this stay, esp if you favor natural living off the land.

Lovely setting on the farm, close to the highway. Our stay was peaceful and left us recharged to continue our trek across the country. The cabin was new and clean. The bathhouse was also very well maintained.

We stayed in the big blue cabin for the evening in August to celebrate my little boys birthday. Every moment was true magic. We walked around the farm, fished in the pond, and made a great campfire. Jeff was gracious and welcoming. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to make memories.

It was a pleasure staying in Renée‘s cabin. It was so comfortable and well stocked. The horses, turkey, chickens, Goat, donkeys, etc. were a wonderful addition to my stay. It was great getting to know Renee. I appreciated the tour and the accommodations. I have a lot of respect for the program that Renée has created there.

This place is truly a hidden gem—I can’t wait to come back! Renee was incredibly kind and welcoming, making sure I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The cabin was cozy and well-kept, and falling asleep each night to the soothing sounds of nature was pure bliss. One of the highlights of my visit was spending time with all the animals—especially the beautiful mustangs and the unforgettable Fred the turkey! It was such a peaceful and memorable escape.

What a great place for nature lovers. Jeff has worked hard to provide a little piece of paradise on earth. My grandkids loved it! They got to collect eggs for our breakfast and fish in the pond. The tiny house was perfect, although the kids struggled with using the compost toilet.

Our experience was so peaceful that we had to stay another day. The host family was so inviting it was like we were apart of the family. The work that the family is doing on the DLR Ranch is honorable, rehabbing horses and also Helping Our Veterns. We can not wait for our next visit. I give the DLR Ranch a 10 out of 10.
