The site includes inflatable twin beds, a solar phone charger, an outdoor restroom tent, a sandy seating area, wood firepit, BBQ, and shaded common space. No running water or electricity—bring coolers, bedding, and cookware. A peaceful off-grid retreat perfect for nature lovers and adventurers.

Yate's Cottage

Welcome to the beauty and nature of Core Sound! The Yates Cottage is directly on the water and is designed for spectacular views of Core Sound and Cape Lookout Lighthouse with large windows on 3 sides. Other amenities are a large screen porch, fire pit, and a large yard for lawn games. The Yates cottage is great for couples, families, dogs, joggers, walkers, bikers, fishers and boaters. You will be welcomed with freshly-made beds, towels and a full kitchen with Keurig and Rachel Ray cookware.
The space
You simply won't find a better view of or access to Core Sound. The Marshallberg boat ramp is just around the corner. The Korner general store is just a 10 minute walk on safe streets.
Guest access
The entire house. Pets are welcome but we require a non-refundable fee of $150 for up to three well-behaved and potty-trained dogs or cats. This is a set fee regardless of number of nights reserved.
Other things to note
Please bring your beach towels, soap, and shampoo. One set of bath towels are provided per person.

The Angler's Retreat

Captain Claude Brown built the Angler's Retreat cabin to house his fishing party guests. Now thoughtfully renovated, it can accommodate small groups in the sleepy fishing village of Marshallberg, NC. The large main bedroom has a queen bed, designated workplace, and bathroom with a soaking tub—a small bedroom houses twin bunk beds and a stacked washer/dryer. Enjoy an open kitchen/dining area and a comfortable living room. The location is great for fishing, watersports, biking, and dog walking.
The space
The Angler’s Retreat is adjacent to Captain Brown’s Farmhouse, another recently renovated Airbnb that can sleep six people. Both Airbnb’s can be rented to accommodate larger groups.
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire small home and the surrounding farmyard with adorable goats to watch!

Other things to note
Please place any trash or recyclables in the trash bags into the labeled trash receptacles behind the house.

There are also bikes for your use in the open area of the barn behind the farmhouse.

When leaving, please strip the beds and put the sheets only into the laundry basket next to the washer/dryer. Please throw any used towels into the tub.

Captain Brown's Farm

Enjoy this unique and family/pet-friendly home. Captain Claude Brown built this charming farmhouse in 1945 for his bride Belle. The Brown family is very well-known in Marshallberg, NC. The road and an island are named after them! The farmhouse was lovingly renovated in 2023 and is ready for guests, both 2-legged and 4-legged! There is a water view from the front porch, the Marshallberg Harbor and boat ramp are a 1/2 mile away, and a doggy door leads to a fun fenced-in area for Fido!
The space
There are three bedrooms and two full bathrooms, one with a bathtub. The kitchen is completely renovated with adorable, retro appliances that work like the best modern appliances out there. There is a large 60 inch television in the beautifully-furnished living room, and a relaxing sunroom that faces the distinguished old barn. The doggie door leads out to a perfectly fenced area of the backyard where your dog can run and play safely. The neighborhood is very dog friendly and there is a nice 1 mile walk around the block. You can see water from the front porch and put your boat in at the ramp in the Marshallberg Harbor.
Guest access
The entire house is open for your vacation getaway except the upstairs attic.
Other things to note
Marshallberg looks out over Core Sound and the Cape Lookout lighthouse. You will see fishing boats of all kinds going by. You can take a ferry from Harkers Island over to the lighthouse to see it up close and then cross an elevated path to the ocean side of Core Banks. Feel free to bring your own boat and put it in at the Marshallberg Harbor boat ramp. There is no charge for using the ramp.

Wonderful Log Home on Lake Mattamuskeet

This wonderful hunting lodge is ideal for a family getaway on beautiful Lake Mattamuskeet. Enjoy the wildlife at your back door or view it all from inside. We have numerous wild game mounts from the area that everyone will enjoy. Bears, wolves, foxes, bobcats, and of course lots of ducks.
We are 1 Hr 15 minutes to the beach.   Now with STARLINK WIFI included

Big Cypress Farm

We are a family farm. Established in the 1970s we have lots of local wildlife and water fowl. We have chickens. A lake that is stocked with catfish,brim and bass

The sunsets are incredible.  And when the full moon is over the pond it is an amazing sight. You can relax here by the pond or venture out to explore historic down town New Bern ,or head the the beach located in Morehead, Swansboro, and the surrounding areas. Check the local Restaurants and the local shops as well. Throughout the year we are surrounded by many different festivals  as well.

You can listen to the crickets and the birds chirping, and watch the squirrel as they jump and run from tree to tree.we are close to the beaches and are in close proximity of the national Forrest as well. And there are quite a few golf courses near to us as well.
