This is my second time here. Great tent site next to the river. They also have a nice bathhouse with hot water. Watch out with the drinking water though. I found some red flakes in it.

A wonderful little campground with a clean shower house. Easy check in and quiet evening to get some rest after a long day. Walked the nature trail to the river and found it easy and scenic. I would stay here again.

The bathroom is super clean both for men and women. The site is quiet and the neighborhood is quite friendly. Two things to make the stay unforgettable. 1) the tent site should have water outlet for each station 2) the RV campers should clean their waste deposit on a regular basis. There was one of them that the place smells like piss. Sad to say that it was the only negative thing that almost ruined our stay. But still I would recommend the place for a nights stay. About 7 mins away to Pilot Mountain and 30 mins away from Hanging Rock State Park.

We had an amazing experience at 24 on the Mountain. From the moment we arrived, John — the host — made us feel genuinely welcome. He is friendly, attentive, and clearly takes a lot of pride in this property. You can tell he loves sharing his slice of mountain paradise with guests.
The campsite sits high on the mountain with an unbeatable view overlooking Talbott Reservoir. We could see the dam, the water, and miles of gorgeous scenery. Sunsets and sunrises were unreal — the kind of views that photos can’t even come close to capturing.
The site was clean, private, quiet, and extremely well thought out. Plenty of room to park and set up, and the layout made it feel like we had the whole mountain to ourselves. We enjoyed the peace, the stars, and the total escape from noise and crowds.
John checked in just enough to make sure we had what we needed, but also respected our privacy. Exactly what you hope for in a Hipcamp host.
We camp a lot, and this spot is easily one of our new favorites. If you’re looking for a relaxing mountain getaway with breathtaking views and a great host, book 24 on the Mountain. You won’t regret it and you'll love the elevation of 2800+ ft.
We will definitely be back.

Hot shower , very nice people, it's set up more for RV and trailer campers, but the one half that is grass is a good spot to set up a tent. Most of the spots had electric which is more than a typical tent spot, so that was nice. Super quiet

Weekend Trip to The Vineyard Retreat
The Barrel has an awesome view inside that window inside is amazing. As well as view from the hot tub and chairs outside. Only thing I would add is a grill or something to cook on other than that everything was perfect.

Paula and John were super friendly host. They helped make sure that we were all set and comfortable and even shared some squash from their garden. The view from the RV spot was beautiful, and it was very private and tranquil. There was also a nice hiking trail to enjoy. I would recommend this place for folks looking for a private and peaceful place with a nice mountain view!

This campsite offers plenty of privacy and amazing Mountain Views. As there are lots of trees, you would be somewhat protected by harsh weather like rain and sun heat. Plenty of wood to keep the campfire going.
Things I would add to make the site better: level the area near fire pit, offer trash services.
Overall it was an amazing stay and would visit again.

This is a really special place. We loved the quiet, the view from the campsite, and the overall good vibes on this property. It's situated on a plateau with steep sides down to the Dan River, just across from Primland. It's also not far from Meadows of Dan with little shops with coffee, etc. The fire pit was perfect, with tons of firewood and two Adirondack chairs. Best of all was watching the fading sunset under the tall oaks, while regular fireflies and blue ghost fireflies came out. This area is just stunning and not as well known as Western NC. It's closer to central NC, where we live, and is a faster and more secluded way to get up in altitude and beat the summer heat. You can also check out the nearby Blue Ridge Parkway, famous Floyd, and dog-friendly Chateau Morrisette. Be sure to stop at Lovers' Leap overlook on your way home.

We had a great stay! The campsite was clean, peaceful, and beautifully maintained. The host was incredibly friendly and gave us awesome recommendations for hikes and local spots to explore. This was our first time visiting the Meadows of Dan area, and we’re already looking forward to coming back!
