We are a peaceful campsite located along the Greenway Trail 20 minutes from Downtown Raleigh and 10 minutes from Clayton. The farm offers private wooded meadows with direct access to the Greenway for walking and cycling. Campers can either rent a tent or bring their own, choosing between secluded spots, shaded areas, or open spaces. The campsite is accessible via a gravel farm track and is close to the Greenway, river, and main house for bathroom access.
Nearby attractions include the Bailey Sarah William Preserve with 447 acres and 16.6 miles of multi-use trails, Sandy Pines Preserve with 563 acres of trails and fishing (18 minutes away), and Robertson Mill Pond for trails and seasonal kayaking (17 minutes away). The site was lovely, but not as private as I’d hoped. I could see the neighbors, and hear everything from the neighboring campers on the other side of the barn. The property was beautiful. My dog really enjoyed walking around and seeing the donkeys and such. I never did locate the trail. If you pay extra for it, like I did, ask for specific directions for it.

Emma was so accommodating at the last minute!! I accidentally drove a bit out of my way and thankfully she welcomed me in at 8pm with little notice. She wrote out detailed instructions for me to get into the camp.
Her son, James, was awesome and gave me a tour of their place. He even introduced me to the horses. The land was seriously so special, and something I won’t forget. I’m so grateful I got to stay here and experience it.

What an awesome campsite! The host was so kind and welcoming and even gave us a tour of their beautiful, tucked-away land. They had some beautiful friendly horses, beautiful open fields, and easy access to the Neuse River Trail which made for some great evening walks. We will definitely be back!

This site was a wonderful getaway from the city! The renter personally greeted us and showed us around the farm. There was plenty of open space, yet trees for privacy between sites. Would definitely recommend!

I had a wonderful camping experience here! The location is surprisingly close to downtown, yet it feels like a peaceful escape far from the city buzz. The hosts have two friendly horses, which added a charming touch to the stay. One of the highlights was watching fireflies at night — truly magical!
There are several designated camping spots to choose from, and they also allow access to the restroom in their home, which was very convenient. Right next to the site, there’s a scenic cycling and walking trail running along the Neuse River — perfect for a relaxing morning or evening stroll.
Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quick nature escape without leaving the city area!

We were looking for a safe / quiet place to stay in our campervan for a few nights close to the Neuse River Trail. This spot was perfect! Trail access is directly on the property (no need to ride or walk on main roads to get there). Emma and co were super responsive to our questions, and it was so nice to wake up to see the horses each morning!

Mimms’s land was exactly what we needed, very friendly and welcoming. The site was clean, plenty of firewood, porta potty was super clean. The fresh eggs were delicious! Dog friendly ~ Looking forward to coming back again.
