Great for the family! We enjoyed the amenities but also being close to hiking which our family loves. The red trail on the campground was fun even with all the down trees (the kids thought of it as ninja obstacles!). We will be back again!

Spacious Skies Bear Den was an awesome campground! We had plenty of space at our site and were just a short walk from the nice, clean bathhouse. The location is amazing (right off the blue ridge parkway) and there’s so much to do at the campground itself. We will definitely be back!

Thom was a wonderful host he was super attentive and kind with the best stories to boot! Such a great location minutes from the blue ridge parkway. The internet was a major plus as was the power pole. Everything went smoothly and I will absolutely be back!

The setting is very peaceful on the creek and we barely noticed the seldom cars from the road. The host is very nice and eager to help. We did need Anderson blocks to level our 40' 5th wheel but we're used to that and the space was long enough for both our 5th wheel and truck - we couldn't exactly tell from the photos. I think what would make it perfect is a picnic table and a solution for trash. We couldn't find anywhere to take our trash and did see a bear one morning so leaving trash outside is for sure not safe. Thank you Thom for a peaceful few days!

Had a great time at Reems Creek Retreat. The listing accurately reflects the location and experience. The running creek beside to campsite was great to listen to and soothing to hear at night. The provided wifi was excellent. The site is a gravel area but isn't flat so make you have plenty of stabilizing blocks. The campsite is only about 12 min from Weaverville which has everything you need. Wagbar is a definite must if you have a dog. Highly recommend Blue Mountain Pizza. Food was fantastic. Thom and his wife are fantastic hosts. Came over to introduce themselves and responded very quickly to messages. Will definitely come back.

I loved the staff! This is a large campground but it is also so big that there are plenty of quiet and beautiful places to sit in peace. If you have kids it is perfect as there are plenty of varied things to do. I only stayed one night but you could easily stay a week and just explore the area!!

Amazing site! Loved hearing the water by our campsite. Thom was so helpful and available when we needed assistance. Site is on the road but had both our dogs off leash the whole stay and were fine.

So they asked what went well? Honestly, the whole experience. I was very impressed with a lot of little details such as a fire feature with several chairs when you check in. An arcade with everything from Miss Pac-Man to a basketball shoot. Wonderful trails, even with all of the damage that came through this area, it's remarkable to see how well this it place looked. The bathrooms were clean. The spaces generally are done in a way to provide each one with at least a little bit of privacy. Some even have a 6-ft privacy fence as well.
I would even consider coming back and staying at one of the cabins. I nosed around and looked at one the moonbow cabin that I would adore late fall early winter. You really must come to this place. It's an experience you won't forget whether it's someone such as my self traveling alone or a family, there is something for everyone.
Also, don't forget to check out the planetarium up in Burnsville. That was really cool!

Bear Den was the most amazing camping experience I’ve ever had! Moving out here by myself felt so scary, but the staff (Matt, KP, and Brittany especially!) became my instant best friends. They treated me and my dog like family and everything is gorgeous, clean and fairly priced!

Our site was further away from the road so it was a great site. The river is right down from the campground and it's a gorgeous area. Our site was level and well equipped. We were able to face our camper toward the river which we like a lot. The area is quiet and serene. The sites are equipped with fire ring, full hook up, new picnic table. There was enough road area in the camp area to walk our dogs. The dumpster is far enough away but close enough to walk to. The sites are spaced well enough apart.

There was plenty to do at this family oriented campground.. fishing, swimming, basketball, air mattress jump, arcade, gem mining (bags, bucket), dog park for your dog, cute store in case you forgot something..and even food even though we brought our own. It was quiet for the most part and shaded. We will definitely be back.

We enjoyed our stay here. They had a lot of things for kids. Several playgrounds, an arcade, bouncy thing, fishing pond, golf carts, and more. I do suggest booking through their website so you can choose the spot you’d prefer though. The spot we stayed in was nice with full hookups though.

We appreciated having the option of a pull thru site. It was quiet, there was plenty of room at the site, bathrooms were clean and stocked. Although we didn't have kids, this is a great campground with lots of options to keep kids entertained. (arcade, rec area, gem mining, fishing etc) We were disappointed the hiking trails were closed but we understand it was due to the recent storm. (we get it, we are from FL and have restoration happening too that's show moving) . it was convenient to have firewood and ice on site.
