Excellent spot away from the city but not to far out of the way. Right on the water side made for excellent mornings sitting around the fire enjoying coffee and enjoying the view. The host was exceptional with everything from first meet and great to departure. If you want a quite relaxing weekend away I would highly recommend this spot.

Plenty of firewood if you have a chainsaw. Plenty of flat ground for 10x10 tent. Shaded by the lake and sunny by the field.

Nice little pond with some fish. Tossed my line in and caught something in 5 minutes. Great for little kids. Pond was glass in the morning, it felt like I was hours away in the middle of nowhere.

Great communication with host for directions and camping details.
Exactly as described, however I would recommend only a truck, some of the paths are tight and overgrown so a SUV/Sedan might be difficult. Great simple, affordable, easy-going camping for the whole family. I wish I didn't forget the fishing poles!

Fern Getaway was the perfect spot for us! We are beginner campers and it was really nice to have amenities available to make the experience a little more comfortable. The shower, compost toilet, and grilling station were a gamechanger.
Definitely would recommend staying here! Bring food to cook and s'mores for campfire. The shower is cool / lukewarm but it felt great after spending the day in the sun! It's only a 30-35 min drive to Cherry Grove Beach

We had a great weekend camping here. We were the only campers this weekend. Sean was a great host, very easy to communicate with. Site 1 was situated perfectly between the pond and end of the runway with enough room that we could pull our truck and trailer through. We had plenty of open space for our tents, cooking area, hammocks and seating around the campfire with larger trees keeping us shaded on all sides. We initially launched one of our kayaks right from our campsite and ended up keeping them all on the bank when not in use. We did catch 2 small fish on the right side of the pond and had lots of nibbles. The kids had lots of area to explore and chop firewood. We felt comfortable with our dog off-leash. The trail around the pond was well cleared, perfect for a quick walk. The frogs and toads provided lots of background music at night. Thankfully, there weren’t as many bugs as I thought but we had plenty of bug spray on hand anyway. The runway was a pretty cool feature that could be fun for playing fetch, hitting baseballs or golfballs. Really unique experience seeing Sean fly his Ultralight. Definitely a fun and memorable camping getaway!

So beautiful!!! Would definitely stay again. They have crafted their camp with love and care and it shows. So enjoyed showering in the woods. Also they have a beautiful cow that moos hello when u come by! Loved so much!!!

Very nice people who were generous enough to let us stay in the space. The outhouse and outdoor shower were awesome. You can really see how much work was put into creating this little piece of paradise in the woods. Close enough to the beach and other activities. It felt very private. Lots of spiders around but it was a great time

We loved this cabin! The directions were clear- the exterior was so cool- so many places to sit and enjoy relaxation time or conversation. A double kayak was provided for fun exploring. Inside, the place was immaculate! So welcoming and so well presented. Cozy bedrooms, clean and well stocked kitchen. The upstairs loft bedroom was so comfortable- with a comfy chair to put your feet up and read in by big sliding glass doors overlooking a porch. Coffee out on the porch in the mornings was to die for. There were even robes with sleeping masks! My kids and I had an amazing time. Thank you to Anna for a great experience!

My wife and I were looking for a weekend getaway and we couldn't have found a better place. Sean is an amazing host and the property is a perfect retreat. The well maintained trails are perfect for exploring and an afternoon float on the lake was just what the doctor ordered! We are already planning our next visit with the kids!

The lake is beautiful and saw turtles, frogs and was a lovely walk around the entire lake. Unfortunately, I have dogs that scare easily and Scott’s dogs visit the camping area, so I did not stay. But the property was gorgeous and Scott was easy to communicate with and gave me fresh eggs when I arrived.

Site 5 was a nice secluded area where we could relax and enjoy the day. The lake had some good fishing spots and we enjoyed making a bonfire at our campsite. Would recommend to anyone who wants to leave the stress of the city for a few days

We loved this little spot!
It was tucked far enough back in the woods that it felt private, but close enough to the common area that we were able to make use of the sinks and just a short walk to the bathroom/shower.
As a bonus, the owners allowed us to visit their animals and at night, the fireflies light up the forest around you, its absolutely beautiful.
