We are pet friendly (if your pet does not play well with our dogs or horses, please leave them on a leash or at home). Our Shire horses are endangered and very BIG! We hope you have time to say hello to the horses during your visit.

Our scenic Dan River primitive campsite is private and secluded. It has plenty of cleared space for setting up a tent or tents to camp. It has wooded area all around the cleared campsite space with two access spots to the Dan River. One access spot is shared with our second site, Riverside Shepard's Camp. Camps are far enough apart for good privacy. The site sits on about a one acre lot. Great for fishing, sun bathing or just putting your feet in the water and relaxing! It has a built in fire pit. This is a great space for family camping! It has plenty of shade and a nice large flat space for easy tent set-up. If you kayak or canoe the river, our site makes for easy access in or out.

We absolutely loved camping at Infinity Acres! We were a party of 7. 4 adults and 1 kid in our 27ft class C RV, and then 1 adult and 2 kids in a tent. There was plenty of space for camping and hanging out, enjoying the fire pit. We cooked 3 meals over the fire, including some Bass that we caught in the lake! We are novice fisherman, so Rick even helped the kids getting the poles set up and giving advice on bait.
Our RV is a 27ft Minnie Winnie, 13ft clearance, and barely fit into the spot. Laura came to greet us and we actually had to trim a couple of branches to be able to fit, but she was kind and helpful and we made it work no problem.
The kids absolutely loved watching all of the animals. We took a few hikes through the woods and made our way to "Narnia". And the fishing pond was great. Our oldest son caught his biggest fish!
The views were great, so much foliage, and the property sits atop a hill so you've got quite a bit of visibility.
We will absolutely stay here again, both kids and adults had a great time at Laura's place!

Great site! Beautiful, big, and private. The picnic table was huge and the fire pit was big and really nice. The best part was the TONS of complementary firewood. One of their dogs hung out with us and our dogs for a few hours before it got dark. There are also 2 barn kittens that hung out with us all night lol.
Dayla and Denae were very sweet and generous hosts. We can't wait to go back!

We really enjoyed our stay here. Super responsive host. Site was clean and private, you get the entire place to yourself. All the free firewood you want, that's a nice touch! Clean porta john. A gas station and Dollar store less than 3 minutes away too if you forget anything.

Dayla is the warmest and most welcoming host I have ever met! She was so kind and made sure to go the extra mile in every way so that our experience would be one for the memories. Great spot with complete privacy, pond to fish, horses to pet, a creek to bathe in and relax by, an open area for activities, a camp fire to sit and laugh around, wood to burn, and it’s in a great location. We hiked hanging rock and got ice cream that was DELICIOUS and spent the rest of the time on site laughing, worshipping and learning about the Lord, and making memories that will last a long time. Highly recommend and plan on going back soon!

Great view of the lake, hearing the ducks early morning and throughout the day, my wife started feeding them before we even finished getting set up! We spent our 40th anniversary here last week and we were welcomed with balloons and a congratulations card left on our car windshield, that alone touched our hearts. As a single woman camper, I couldn’t feel any safer knowing I’m in the middle of a sprawling property, with host’s who are there for me, who understand the safety and peace desired. This is my 3rd or 4th visit and I’ll for sure be back. I love the privacy of the HipCamp with the horses just across the creek to go visit. I was surprised happily that they were recently (also surprise) donated some kittens. There were 3 kitties that became friends by the end. There’s also two dogs who may or may not interact. I enjoyed my visits with all the animals as well as lots of time on my own. The port a potty is convenient and potable water is available up a hill at the host’s home. I tent camped and enjoyed fires in the evenings with a ton of complimentary wood. It’s very quiet aside from a bit of street noise at peak times and maybe some mowing of the large property. Love this place.

It was a nice private peaceful place to tent camp. The sound of the creek was so relaxing. It was fun for my kids to meet the enormous horses. The porta potty was a little gross but I guess they usually are. The potable water from the house was a bit of a walk to get to so I recommend bringing some large gallon containers or something to carry the water from the spigot to the campsite.

Everything about Dayla & Denae’s Grassy Knoll is perfect. The hosts are welcoming, kind, & easy to communicate with. The campsite truly felt cared for with their visitors in mind — an extremely clean port a potty, trash can on site, huge picnic table, beautiful firepit, dozens of chairs, and more dry firewood & kindling than you could ever need. We loved visiting their majestic shire horses & playing with their two sweet pups. The creek is refreshing and perfect to pop a chair in, and falling asleep to the sounds of water at night is just perfect. This is the best camping spot we’ve ever been to & can’t wait to return!

Absolutely beautiful property, majestic horses, kind hosts that offered endless wood, enough seating for all guests, they even helped us with our deflating tire. We also had a magical experience of a great blue heron flying extremely close overhead, twice! Unfortunately a tropical storm cut our stay short. Completely out of the hosts’ control, a freight train blared its horn for quite a while in the middle of the night we stayed as well as some street racing drivers revving their engines in the distance made sleeping a little difficult. Just thought light sleepers might want to be forewarned. We would absolutely go again and recommend them!

This is, hands down, the best spot we've found using Hipcamp! The hosts are incredibly friendly and offer a ton of free firewood, a port-a-porty and garbage cans. The camping site is humongous and we enjoyed all the fish and crayfish in the creek. The bestest part is
the 2 four legged puppers that hang out with you! We loved our stay soooo much, we will back many more times down the road!

Tara's land is a nice combination of easily accessible and private. Campsite is just as pictured, and we enjoyed swimming in the river. When a thunderstorm rolled through, Tara reached out to make sure we head everything we needed -- which was such a nice touch. Would definitely return.
