The Heart Center

2 nights at The Heart Center

This is a beautiful and serene camping spot. We stayed in one of the yurts, but the camping would have been fun too. The forest was full of spring flowers, and there is a beautiful short hike to a creek on the property. We have kids, and playing in the old school gymnasium was a big hit! We did do some nearby hiking, but our kids just wanted to go back to the Heart Center to play :). I also appreciated access to the dining room area. Being able to use a microwave while camping makes it so much easier! And we appreciated the coffee and tea Liz had ready every morning. What a treat! Liz was a wonderful host, and one of the best parts of our stay was getting to spend time with her. She is a kind and generous person!

Beautiful tent camping right on the river. Excellent unplug from the world and very secluded. Matt’s dog Ash is an absolute treat to play with as you unwind on the river. Would definitely recommend 4wd or AWD vehicle for exploring all the property.

Riverside on the renowned fly fishing river, the Tuckasegee River, or ridge top on Cullowhee Mountain, elevation 3850'. There are improved camp sites, a yurt, or free range camping and hiking. The fall views are spectacular, wherever you decide to locate. We implement " Leave no trace" rules and welcome respectful 4wd access to our ridge top. We are currently endeavoring agroforestry techniques to respectfully harvest the bounties of the woodlands in our Living Mountain Farms online store.
