Comfy Yurts And Safari Tent

Craving something different and unique? Experience the great outdoors with all the comforts of a cozy bed, hot water bathroom, and temperature-controlled air. With no WiFi (but excellent cell service), it's the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

Each of our rentals—2 Yurts and a Safari Tent—features its own private deck and glamped-out bathroom. Guests can also take advantage of our shared outdoor eating area, grill, and fire pit. Relax under the stars, and depending on the time of year, you might even catch a glimpse of the firefly extravaganza.

We’re excited to share that our neighbors at Tri-County Racetrack—just 0.6 miles down the road—have officially reopened! 

On race nights, you might hear the distant rumble and roar of the action from your cozy yurt or tent. Some folks love the energy and excitement... others might prefer a quieter evening under the stars. Either way, we want you to know ahead of time so you can plan the stay that’s right for you.

LAKESIDE GETAWAY ON DOUGLAS

Lakeside Getaway is a seasonal peninsula on Douglas Lake of primitive camping sites in historic Dandridge, Tn just 30 min from Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area. Come enjoy your boat, jet ski, or kayaks from our 75 foot boat dock and new concrete boat ramp for launching. Our pavilion is a nice commons area with a charcoal stove and can be reserved for private parties. We rent out Kayaks to parties or individuals. Our quite cove is about 2 miles long and very secluded... Great for Kayaking!

Covered in Carolina Silverbells, (hence the name Silverbell Wood), Flame Azaleas and Dogwoods, this property is a part of the Southern Appalachians which is one of the most diverse and unique ecosystems in the world due to it's topography and natural history. We have 5 distinct micro-ecosystems on our land! We cherish and monitor the health of the land which has proven to be fruitful with the increase of the salamander population (an indicator of ecosystem health), in the past few years! Our 6 acres is a labor of love, maintained and improved entirely by the owners, Stephan Hart and Nicole Harris.

The shower/bathing shelter sits just off the road from the site, a short walk away. Hang a shower bag, or have a bucket bath in privacy.

The lounging deck has a few chairs, a moveable picnic table and eyelet hooks for one hammock.

The composting pit toilet is open-air, but enclosed for privacy and has hooks galore to hang your important things.

The kitchen shelter contains a broad counter top for prepping, cooking, storing gear etc.

Family owned and operated by Cindy and Andre Roestenberg with the help of Grandy Elizabeth and daughter Annie 21 who just graduated nursing school. Andre is from Holland the Netherlands and Cindy is from New York City they met in Ft. Lauderdale got married and bought the campground in 1999. Annie was 3 years old. The campground was previously owned by Archie Watkins a famous singer from the gospel group called the Inspirations. Archie still comes thru the campground every now and again. The campground is the most beautiful one in the Smoky Mountains everyone that stays here always winds up coming back again and again. We hope you stay with us and become part of the Wilderness Family. Thank you.

Destination Outdoors! DO IT!

Four years ago I purchased my dream retirement.... 108 acres in the beautiful college town of Cullowhee, NC.  Nestled up to the Great Smoky Mountains National park, this property is unique in everything it offers. Riverside on the renowned fly fishing river, the Tuckasegee River, or ridge top on Cullowhee Mountain, elevation 3850'.  There are improved camp sites, a yurt, or free range camping and hiking. The fall views are spectacular, wherever you decide to locate.  We implement " Leave no trace" rules and welcome respectful 4wd access to our ridge top.  We are currently endeavoring agroforestry techniques to respectfully harvest the bounties of the woodlands in our Living Mountain Farms online store. Our hope is to one day make this magical mountain sustain those who reside upon the reserve, and provide a most memorable stay for our guests!Destination Outdoors! DO IT!

Far Flung Farm

Year 8 for campers at our Farm!  We hope you find the peace and beauty we've had ever since we fell in love with this property in 2012. We have welcomed a number of people from across the US as well as from several other countries. We love to share our beautiful, organic farm with friends and family as well as strangers-to-friends through Hipcamp. Take a day, weekend, or week to enjoy time in our special space!

Pitch your tent or set up your camper in the primary sites next to or near the creek.  360-degree views of the mountains with famous Cold Mountain and Mt Pisgah among the views to our South.  There are two large fire pits for the chillier nights/mornings with a basic grate (only 1) to go over the fire for cooking.  We can supply firewood, as needed, for a small fee.  It's best that you request firewood when you book your site.  We have access to clean water as well as flowing water in the creek. No portapotty at this time. Check out the pictures for other views.

For hikers or mountain bikers: Chestnut Mountain Nature Park includes trails for both interests just 10-12 minutes away from the Farm.  The Berm Park is part of this wonderful network of trails.  There are also a number of other trailheads within 45 minutes of the farm to include Little Sam Knob Trailhead and the Art Loeb/Cold Mountain Trailhead off of Hwy 215 (for hikers) and Hard Times Trailhead in Asheville for bikers and hikers.  Take a look around before you come for other outdoor possibilities in the area to enjoy.

We live in Beaverdam Community just north of the town of Canton.  We adore our land and do our best to preserve and care for the natural beauty around us.  At the farm, June is firefly month and late September/October is leaf-peeping season (no need to drive to see either of those!). We have stunning views to wake up to and babbling of the creek to lull you to sleep.
