Mountainous camping near Belmont

AMAZING views. Site and entire camp was clean. Across from our campsite was a community lookout area that had the most gorgeous view of the mountains. We would definitely come back, and we are already planning our next trip.

Absolutely beautiful campground, can’t wait to see how much they add to it. It was peaceful, serene, and I very much enjoyed my stay here.

Nice spot close to Charlotte. Very friendly host and it is clear they are putting a lot of effort into maintaining it. Only small downside is some sites can occasionally hear traffic from the nearby road. Not too busy though so barely noticeable

2 nights at Starlight Hills

We had a great time at Starlight Hills, the views both during the day and at night are incredible and we really enjoyed the privacy our site offered.

Amazing place… I am recommending it to everyone. The shared lookout space with grills hammocks and picnic tables encourages community in a beautiful setting.

Beautiful property and well priced! Maintained well and the owner is super nice!

Weekend Trip to Remote Mountain Camping Platform

I've been camping for all 40 of my years on this planet and this was the best camping experience I've ever had. I'm usually the primative camping type but my GF along our dog and I were on a road trip from Minnesota and I wanted to find the best campsite with the best view of the mountains while we were down there, despite not having any of our gear with us. I'm absolutely convinced that we found it. Everything was easy to find when we showed up and we had the whole place to ourselves since it was a Monday into Tuesday. When we arrived our tent was unlocked and ready for us, and the firewood already stacked next to the pit. We literally got out of the car and went straight to the hammocks and enjoyed the view. I specifically booked the only clear-sky night of the week and was rewarded with one of the top 3 sunsets I've ever seen. Absolutely phenomenal. William eventually came to check on us and make sure we found anything, what a friendly guy!! We BS'd for a little bit while he played with our dog and I loved every second of it. It felt like such a privilege to be in such a beautiful place with an amazing host. William, we can't thank you enough! Definitely hope to make it back one day. My only regret is only staying for a single night. What an absolute gem.

What a beautiful setting!! The site looks exactly as pictured, but the view is even prettier in person. The platform and fire pits were nice amenities, and we enjoyed being so immersed in nature. Would highly recommend & hope to visit again soon!!

It was a great quiet place very enjoyable time with people not alot of insects either wasnt getting bitten alot or anything really just had a great time and honestly a great spot though the entrance at night is pretty difficult to see a little light on the sign or something might help lol

It was beautiful, had great amenities, and I felt very safe. However, the campsites were too close to each other.

The campsite was easy to back into, it was clean the bathroom house was clean we loved the view. Will be coming back.

1 night at Tellurian Family Campground

Beautiful campsites, access to the river close by was so refreshing, and that view was so serene!

2 nights at Starlight Hills

Such a beautiful property and so well-designed! Even better than the photos convey. Each yurt, along with the cabin, offers its own gorgeous, unique view and level of separation from other sites. The tent sites probably offer the most privacy if that’s what you’re after. The vista from the picnic/BBQ area is also so beautiful and peaceful. The amount of work the owners have put into their campground is very evident, and I’m grateful they share it with the public. Less than a half hour to South Mountains state park which has begun its phased re-opening post-Helene (hooray!!). Definitely hope to return someday soon!

Great campground! I am come out for the meteor shower. Got scared about clouds by the night sky stayed clear for most of the night. I stahed at site 5 which was nice because it right across from the overlook.
