My property consists of a ridge running east to west with the access road running along the south border. the land slopes up to the ridge for about 300 feet, and then down to the river for about 800 feet. The south side of the ridge has a small pond close to the road. The rest is pasture, and an orchard and small vineyard. The north side of the ridge is old growth timber, and shady and cool. The two cabins are along the river. One is perched on a ridge over looking the river and the other is right on the river. The swimming hole is 30 feet from the lower cabin. There is room for a couple campsites along the river also. The south side of the ridge was a cotton farm decades ago, but was covered in timber when I bought it 12 years ago. The north side has been in timber for the known history of the property.

Plans
We are building an educational homestead with farm stays here in rural SW Virginia to include dining experiences and food preservation classes. Our 35 acre farm is located on a mountainside with beautiful views of the Clinch Mountain. Our location is rural and peaceful with abundant wildlife. Deer, Racoons, Opossums, Bobcats, Bear, Fox, Groundhogs, and Turkey have been spotted on the property. We are a great spot for bird watching as well!
Camp Grassland:
Two of our prepped campsites are on a flattened area of the hillside field with access to a fire pit, log bench, and porta-potty. This location is in direct sun with beautiful views and easy access from the road. Parking at the top of the field is recommended unless you have a 4WD vehicle.
Cabin Breazy:
Situated at one of the highest points on the property, Cabin Breazy is our cozy, off-grid, dry A-frame cabin surrounded by mountain views.
Farmhouse Holler:
2nd Campsite is located next to our old farmhouse on a lower section of the property. Its near the natural spring and is shaded. There are no convenient bathroom facilities at this location so it is recommended to bring your own. Reaching the porta-potty would require an extensive uphill hike or driving around to the other entrance. To reach this campsite, the driveway could be considered rough terrain so drive slowly. Lowered vehicles or those with little ground clearance are not recommended.
Each campsite has a max occupancy of 2 people. If you need space for more campers, please reach out to us about how many are in your party.
We can host groups with advanced notification.
Overlanding vehicles are welcome.
Attractions: If you are looking for birds-eye view of the area, visit the Mendota Fire Tower only 3.2 mile away. You can see it from the farm and see the farm from it. It's about a 15 minute hike from the road. You can choose the mildly challenging way up or take the old roadway for a smoother walk. Clinch River is only 20 minutes away. Cool off in the river or enjoy kayaking and tubing opportunities from Clinch River Adventures.

Friendly-leashed pets are welcome on the property. Remember to always keep your pet tethered as we have free roaming animals on the property. Never leave pets unattended on the property. Please clean up after your pets!

We love the window-covered walls! It's like being in a tree house... on the ground:) Outside is an acre of flat, wooded, and grassy yard for exploring plus a fire pit and plenty of seating. We leave you all of the things you need for a great fire!! There is a chance that guests will be staying next door at the antique cabin while you occupy the tiny house. On the other side of the cabin, there is a family favorite guaranteed-catch trout farm - but, occasionally, you may smell the fish!
The space
Our tiny house is one 528 sf open room with a fully-equipped kitchen, table for four, and bar for two. In the living area, there is a sectional sofa for reading, watching Roku TV or movies, or playing board games. For sleeping, there is a built-in king-sized bed and a single bed (both are super comfy). There is also a full private bathroom with a shower accessible from the living area. The tiny house is also equipped with great Wifi. Our property is treated but since it's in the woods there is a chance you could see a bug or two!
Guest access
Guests can find this property easily off the main road. The lot is flat so even in the wintertime, there should be no problems accessing the property.
You will have access to this entire property including all amenities with the exception of a log cabin that’s located 35 yards to the right of the cabin. This is rented out separately so there’s a chance you may bump into some of our other guests but don’t worry, there’s plenty of space for everyone! If you’d like to rent out this second space to accommodate larger groups, let us know.
Other things to note
Our cabin and tiny house are centrally located to just about everything in the area. The following towns or communities are just a 10-minute drive: Banner Elk, Valle Crucis and Boone. There is great access to fishing on the Watauga River, hiking and views of Grandfather Mountain, zip-lining and snow tubing at Seven Devils, skiing at Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain or Appalachian Ski Mountain. A full-service grocery store is only five minutes away. Also within a five-minute drive are restaurants, bars, coffee shop, day spa, hair salon, vineyard, hiking trails, park and playground, Watauga River fly-fishing and a guaranteed-catch trout farm. My property consists of a ridge running east to west with the access road running along the south border. the land slopes up to the ridge for about 300 feet, and then down to the river for about 800 feet. The south side of the ridge has a small pond close to the road. The rest is pasture, and an orchard and small vineyard. The north side of the ridge is old growth timber, and shady and cool. The two cabins are along the river. One is perched on a ridge over looking the river and the other is right on the river. The swimming hole is 30 feet from the lower cabin. There is room for a couple campsites along the river also. The south side of the ridge was a cotton farm decades ago, but was covered in timber when I bought it 12 years ago. The north side has been in timber for the known history of the property.

Plans
We are building an educational homestead with farm stays here in rural SW Virginia to include dining experiences and food preservation classes. Our 35 acre farm is located on a mountainside with beautiful views of the Clinch Mountain. Our location is rural and peaceful with abundant wildlife. Deer, Racoons, Opossums, Bobcats, Bear, Fox, Groundhogs, and Turkey have been spotted on the property. We are a great spot for bird watching as well!
Camp Grassland:
Two of our prepped campsites are on a flattened area of the hillside field with access to a fire pit, log bench, and porta-potty. This location is in direct sun with beautiful views and easy access from the road. Parking at the top of the field is recommended unless you have a 4WD vehicle.
Cabin Breazy:
Situated at one of the highest points on the property, Cabin Breazy is our cozy, off-grid, dry A-frame cabin surrounded by mountain views.
Farmhouse Holler:
2nd Campsite is located next to our old farmhouse on a lower section of the property. Its near the natural spring and is shaded. There are no convenient bathroom facilities at this location so it is recommended to bring your own. Reaching the porta-potty would require an extensive uphill hike or driving around to the other entrance. To reach this campsite, the driveway could be considered rough terrain so drive slowly. Lowered vehicles or those with little ground clearance are not recommended.
Each campsite has a max occupancy of 2 people. If you need space for more campers, please reach out to us about how many are in your party.
We can host groups with advanced notification.
Overlanding vehicles are welcome.
Attractions: If you are looking for birds-eye view of the area, visit the Mendota Fire Tower only 3.2 mile away. You can see it from the farm and see the farm from it. It's about a 15 minute hike from the road. You can choose the mildly challenging way up or take the old roadway for a smoother walk. Clinch River is only 20 minutes away. Cool off in the river or enjoy kayaking and tubing opportunities from Clinch River Adventures.
Closest convenience store is about 15 minutes away.
Closest Grocery store is about 20 minutes away.
Friendly-leashed pets are welcome on the property. Remember to always keep your pet tethered as we have free roaming animals on the property. Never leave pets unattended on the property. Please clean up after your pets!

We love the window-covered walls! It's like being in a tree house... on the ground:) Outside is an acre of flat, wooded, and grassy yard for exploring plus a fire pit and plenty of seating. We leave you all of the things you need for a great fire!! There is a chance that guests will be staying next door at the antique cabin while you occupy the tiny house. On the other side of the cabin, there is a family favorite guaranteed-catch trout farm - but, occasionally, you may smell the fish!
The space
Our tiny house is one 528 sf open room with a fully-equipped kitchen, table for four, and bar for two. In the living area, there is a sectional sofa for reading, watching Roku TV or movies, or playing board games. For sleeping, there is a built-in king-sized bed and a single bed (both are super comfy). There is also a full private bathroom with a shower accessible from the living area. The tiny house is also equipped with great Wifi. Our property is treated but since it's in the woods there is a chance you could see a bug or two!
Guest access
Guests can find this property easily off the main road. The lot is flat so even in the wintertime, there should be no problems accessing the property.
You will have access to this entire property including all amenities with the exception of a log cabin that’s located 35 yards to the right of the cabin. This is rented out separately so there’s a chance you may bump into some of our other guests but don’t worry, there’s plenty of space for everyone! If you’d like to rent out this second space to accommodate larger groups, let us know.
Other things to note
Our cabin and tiny house are centrally located to just about everything in the area. The following towns or communities are just a 10-minute drive: Banner Elk, Valle Crucis and Boone. There is great access to fishing on the Watauga River, hiking and views of Grandfather Mountain, zip-lining and snow tubing at Seven Devils, skiing at Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain or Appalachian Ski Mountain. A full-service grocery store is only five minutes away. Also within a five-minute drive are restaurants, bars, coffee shop, day spa, hair salon, vineyard, hiking trails, park and playground, Watauga River fly-fishing and a guaranteed-catch trout farm. We are located along 1600 ft of the North Toe River. Buck Hill Campground is the perfect place for families to relax and play! The campground features 150 acres including a 1.5 mile hike to the top of Buck Hill Mountain with amazing views! The river is stocked with trout for fisherman and is also the perfect place to enjoy lazy rides in river tubes.

It was absolutely beautiful! Very secluded, very steep driveway but I literally drove my Toyota Camry up and down with no problem, the fear just came from within. Lol The host was very pleasant to speak with and always immediately responded back to me within minutes. I recommend this spot for seclusion, animals, creekside, romantic get away!!! It was perfect! Also you will get your exercise in going up and down the stairs but Lord did I need it!!! Lol 😆 we WILL be back

Quiet and secluded. Nothing around but morning birds and the consistent sound of the rippling water minus the jets descending off the mountain. If you desire PEACE and want to unplug from life but have a roof over your head with electric and running water look no more because this is it!!! Not much to do but sit and soak on one of 3 decks.

Weekend Trip to Adin`s river cabin
Adins cabin is a MUST for out of towners, especially leaving from the city. Highly recommended, just bring blankets sheets and pillows/cases! Everything was pretty straight forward and maybe a hybrid or van type vehicle is recommended as well.

Hans' Summit Cabin was amazing! The cabin is fully equipped with propane heat, non-potable running water (from rain), and all the basic amenities. As regular campers/backpackers, we found it very comfortable. We loved exploring the trail leading into Pisgah National Forest and using Hans' bow and arrow for some target practice.
It was a short but steep hike up to the cabin, but it added to the 'off-grid' experience in my opinion. Hans was kind enough to transport our belongings in his ATV.
It was fun chatting with Hans about the area and his property. Hope to visit again!

If you're looking for fancy, bells and whistles this isn't for you. If you're looking for privacy, peace and serenity in a rustic cabin then you found it. The cabin is small but cozy. The cabin does have hot water, but only for a couple minutes. It has a decent size sink in the kitchen. The bathroom is tiny and not for the costraphibic, but it's nice having something indoors. There also an outhouse. Adin offers heat for an extra fee if you ask. We didn't use it, it was chilly at night, but still warmer than tent camping. The rd to the cabin in narrow and a little steep, but we made it in and out with two wheel drive. The property terrain itself is pretty rugged and steep(sometimes slippery) with cliffs. I would say younger children need good supervision venturing if you bring them and it wouldn't be suitable for people with mobility issues. If you have children I would bring a baby gate for the upstairs loft, as it's an open entrance and exit at the ladder stairs, which are steep. Room for extra tents in site. There's tons of deck space here with three decks and amazing views from the top. The sounds of the rapids and the frogs are so serene. The river is beautiful and clear with plenty of room. There's also some trails on the property. Sadly you can see some of the damage caused by flooding from the hurricane. Our little family enjoyed our stay here. Adin and his wife were kind and helpful. What a blessing to own a beautiful piece of paradise. Thank you for sharing it.

My family & I loved Adin’s cabin. It was perfect for us to escape the fast city life for the weekend. We walked the creek bank, searched for worms, tried fishing.. but had no luck. Mr. Adin said Helene had taken most of the fish. The water was crystal clear, & the sound of the water moving had me mesmerized. The kids enjoyed watching movies upstairs in the loft, & they had plenty to keep them busy. We can’t wait to come back in the Summer. Thanks again Adin for having us! The Turner Family 🥰

Fantastic location with an incredible view of the mountains, like camping but with all the modern comforts you’d need. Excellent kitchen and eating area, huge deck to sit outside on and a very nice bathroom. We did 3 days here and did not see one other person or car drive by - this place is PRIVATE. Great location as it’s close to Linville Gorge, caverns, Blowing Rock, Blue Ridge Parkway you name it.

We had such a great time visiting the summit cabin, and it was equipped with everything you would typically need on a camping trip! Hans was very nice and brought all of our things to the cabin, and we hiked the steep but beautiful trail up to the summit. We brought our two dogs that absolutely loved running around the property, and we even explored the trails in the woods behind the cabin and they were endless. We went on a chilly weekend, and were so surprised at how warm the gas units inside got to warm up the cabin! Such a beautiful cabin, and we cannot wait to come back again.

We loved staying at the sight. Enjoyed the privacy and the view, and the hot tub. This was in spite of Mother Nature giving us rain for 3 days. Kevin went out of his way to provide us with dry wood; we just couldn't use it. The facility was clean, great condition. It was high-end and we plan to return at another time. Thanks!

This place was an amazing place to REALLY experience nature and disconnect from our modern virtual world! I will definitely be returning and highly recommend people check this place out. My Family of three stayed in a small cabin right by Elk Creek. We had breakfast on a little balcony overlooking the creek. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Got there during the dark, so not having to setup a tent was certainly a benefit. Dianne is a great host and so very friendly and helpful!

Garry and Dianne were so kind to share their lovely log cabin with our family.
Dianne was especially kind and sweet, and we truly appreciated their hospitality. The cabin was beautifully prepared for us, and there was plenty of space to pitch a tent right outside. Our kids especially loved fishing by the stream and roasting s’mores by the campfire. It was such a fun and relaxing getaway for all of us. We’ll definitely try to come back in the future!
