4 nights at Mystic Meadow Farm Glamping.

Wendy was a great host! Every little detail added up to a wonderful stay! Cute, comfortable, and dry (it rained a couple of evenings during our stay) A-frame provided privacy. The shower house was awesome and she even has walking trails! Come to the Mystic Meadow Love Shack, sit in the rocking chairs, and listen to the riffle of the minnow-filled brook and RELAX!

We had the best time at this campsite! It was peaceful, quiet, and the perfect spot to unwind. The host was absolutely wonderful so kind and welcoming. She made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. Everything was clean, well-kept, and just felt cozy. We can’t wait to come back again!

This place is a treasure! I booked pretty late in the day, and Natalie was so accommodating. Everything in and around the cabin was so thoughtful that the couple times I started to need something I realized they were 2 steps ahead of me. I absolutely loved the greenhouse! Bed was very comfortable and I really enjoyed the selection of books they had. Can’t wait to come back (and finish my book!)

This was the second time we’ve stayed here and it was just as good as the first. We even got to see our dog friend again which was such a delight. It’s a beautiful quiet property. Has a trash can by our campsite and a kitchen with a bathroom on the property that gives you everything you need. Our host Phillip was also super accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. We’ll definitely be staying here again next time we’re passing through.

Weekend Trip to Kohler Farms-A Shire Horse...

We loved our stay at Kohler Farms! The campsite was absolutely beautiful—right along the creek, which provided the most peaceful background of babbling water all weekend long. The hosts were incredibly communicative and thoughtful, even covering the kindling so everything stayed dry for us. Tons of firewood was available, and the site itself felt private and well-kept. Their two farm dogs stopped by to say hello a couple of times and were so sweet with our pup—it was such a fun surprise. And wow, their shire horses are stunning! Seeing them up close was magical. The only thing to note is that you can hear some road traffic at night, but overall, this spot was serene and so worth it. We’d absolutely come back!

We had a great time staying at the cabin! Natalie and Darrell were excellent hosts. The cabin was comfortable amd we were suprised at how well stocked it was! Having ice on site was so helpful to keep our coolers cold without having to go anywhere! We enjoyed lighting the woodstove on a chilly rainy afternoon. The view was wonderful- we loved visiting the animals- particularly the donkey and the pigs! We walked to the creek often to fish and go out on our canoe. This was our best vacation! We'd love to come back sometime.

Stopped here on my way home from a longer trip and loved it! Natalie was such a welcoming host and their farm is beautiful. Be sure to say hello to the sheep, pigs, and donkey during your stay. This was first time using a compost toilet and it was really clean with no smell. The wagonload of firewood was abundant and although it rained during my stay, I got good use out of it. Would absolutely recommend and stay again.

Fantastic spot for a relaxing getaway. We brought our dog along, and she had an absolute blast. The on-site amenities—bathroom, kitchen, and a screened-in porch—were a really nice touch. The outdoor shower added to the comfort of the stay. There’s also a small pond stocked with bass, so you can enjoy fishing all day. It’s a perfect place for a family camping trip, with shops and restaurants just a short drive away. We’d definitely return and highly recommend it!

We loved this spot! It was so spacious and we felt so secluded (even though the road wasn’t far) the trees did a great job of keeping privacy! There were tons of fish ( my 5 yr old caught about 15 brim, catfish, bass, etc.) we made sure to catch and release but it was a great family trip. Definitely recommend and plan on visiting again.

We are within walking distance to Lake Tillary and less than 5 mins to the boat landing. You may bring your boat and park it here while you camp. SPECIAL NOTE: There are animals here that you may pet once you have been properly introduced. You may bring your pets as long as they are vaccinated and behaved. If they fight with other animals or chase chickens or ducks you may want to test this upon your arrival. Unfortunately, you must keep them on leash at all times. Our County does have a leash law, and should property🌱🌹🌻🚜🚗📬🗑or animals🦌🐂🐏🐐🐰🦃🦆 be damaged or harmed you will be held responsible. For example, if your dog kills a chicken, you buy the chicken🐓🐔🐥. If they harm a horse🐎 or donkey🐴, you are responsible for ALL vet fees. Also, be aware we have coyotes, osprey, hawks, as any rural area does. Small animals must be suprevised. We are not responsible for acts of nature. The barn is beautiful and you are welcome to take photos, however, you are NOT permitted in the barn without supervision. Absolutley NO smoking or fire near the barn. It is over 100 years old and built by my great grand family and is irreplaceable. SPECIAL FEATURE: As I am just beginning the camp on site experience I offer several options and additional services. #1. Some find out after arriving that I teach NC Concealed Carry Handgun Classes. If you wish to participate in a class, it is preferred that you register before the day of the class. I will post classes on this site so that campers will know there will be shooting in the late afternoon. Some chose to camp on other weekends, some choose to go out to eat during those times, and some don't mind either way. #2. I am also much in favor of work for camp site. Some have asked to do clean up or other small jobs for the priviledge to camp. So far this has worked out well, with one exception. Please do not accept an offer to take on a task that you do not know how to do. Example, pulling weeds or trimming if you do not know what a weed verses flower looks like. LOL #3. There is plenty of firewood, see photos, here laying around and some trees down that will make great firewood (bring your own cutting tools.) We also sell firewood by the bundle. #4. Being a camper here gives you the privilege of fresh veggies and fruits that are in season, as well as fresh free range eggs. MAJOR POINT: You must remember this is a working farm and our duties and responsibilities for the farm come first. You must abide by the boundaries. *see map* The creek is the back boundary and should never be crossed onto my neighbors. I will not tolerate any disrespect to my neighbors, what so ever. No! the roosters don't have an off button, neither does the jacka... donkey! When it is hay cutting time, we will cut hay. If you want to hike the property, feel free, know the boundaries and bring a machete to cut your way by the creek/stream in some areas. We have thistle trees and briars, you are welcome to cut all you wish as you go. There are spiders, bugs, and snakes etc. Black snakes, king snakes, runners, and whip snakes belong here and we ask that you do not kill them. Copperheads are here as qell and if you see one, come get me and I will dispatch it for you. .

Why not stay on the Farm that weekend and be a part of this event! ***************************** Our farm is an agritourism farm that offers seasonal events, educational workshops, a petting zoo and animal therapy!. It is free to walk around the farm and visit our animals, but there is a small cost to go inside the barnyard for a petting zoo experience with our sheep and donkeys. We even offer feed so you can feed our sheep, donkeys, chickens, ducks and geese! While we are dog-friendly, we do not allow dogs beyond the camping area. Instead, we offer a 1.5 acre piece of property where you can allow your dogs off-leash. This area is located adjacent to the camping sites and is accessible via 2 gates. Our camping area is a large grassy field that will accommodate multiple tent campers, travel trailers, and RVs under 30' with room to turn around, stake your area, and not feel crowded. There is also 1 regularly maintained porta potty located in this area.

The New Forest

Scattered along the many trails are rocks painted by the one and only Debbie Beasley with cute fluorescent/3-D scenes of nature. It it property that was once inhabited by our Native American Indian as many Indian Points have been pulled from the fields on the property. In its last days as a working farm it was a tobacco farm. There are remnants of the past life scattered around. Including The Green Barn; a 2 story tobacco barn where the tobacco was strung on tobacco sticks, hung on rafters to be cured and taken to market.
