Towner's Country Paradise started out as a wild forest and pasture for cows in the 1940's, owned by Llewellyn Towner. In the 1960s, Llewellyn's love for aviation led him to construct a small airstrip and hangar, and then his son Terry began to plant Christmas Trees (no more cows) and clear much of the land. By the early 1970's our main and largest pond was built and since that time our fully functional cabin, several more fish ponds, roads, trails, running water and generated electricity have been added. Pooh's Corner lies in a rural area just 1.5 miles from Watkins Glen. (3315 County Road 28, Watkins Glen, NY 14891). We took great care to make sure each campsite is PRIVATE (parking on-site*) and the trails are easily navigable. Our 'Welcome Shed' is equipped with a compost toilet, local information, (newly added) Hot Water Station, first-aid kit, charging station, bug spray etc. and is located in a safe, well lit, open area on the property. Each site is equipped with a fire pit and comfortable seating with tables, chairs, and/or picnic tables and tripod grills. Firewood is available on a donation basis. There are State Parks and places to hike one of the many gorges around beautiful Seneca Lake and surrounding area. Take a tour of the many wineries and breweries which our region is famous for. Enjoy hiking, swimming, biking, kayaking, and many historical sites to see. Our reviews tell it all. We know you'll love it here :) *PLEASE NOTE: Our sites are custom made for TENT or CAR camping. Because we have "parking on-site", Large RVs, Campers (over 16'), and any 5th-wheel campers are very difficult to place since there are no easy ways to back in or turn around. You have two options--bring your own tent and camping gear and rough it, or stay in our hand-built cabin with all you need for a couple of nights of pure R&R! Experience zero light pollution at this off the grid cabin or in one of our camping spots. We absolutely loved staying here! We are full-time trailer-towers and have a sweet older pup. Although we booked stays at Treman as with previous years, this time required four moves in two weeks, so I looked for alternatives. Summer Dream popped up only 15 minutes from my Dad's house near the Commons. PERFECT! Tina is a lovely host - from the first conversation to our goodbyes, she made sure we were comfortable and then some. The area where our trailer sat was level, drop and go. You do need to be right next to her trailer though, as the hookups are in an enclosed box behind her trailer. The land was treed and mowed, with a cute picnic table, a fire pit, and wood available. The best part was the quiet, as cars were not frequent and nobody walks by. We were able to walk a few miles daily with no issues which was wonderful for the dog. I'm already looking forward to next year, so better beat me to it! :)

This is my second time here visiting upstate NY! Poohs Korner is my favorite place to camp. Not only do I feel safe, but I love the fact that it’s still camping, and the amenities are close by! The compost toilet is genius, & Mike and Sheryl are so sweet! Minutes from downtown. If I ever come back to Watkins Glen. I will always book with Pooh’s Korner.

We had an absolutely beautiful weekend camping at Pooh's Corner! The campground is incredibly peaceful and private - exactly what we were looking for. Each site feels tucked away, surrounded by nature, with plenty of space to relax and unwind. Quiet, untouched, and full of peace. Our small dog, Luna, enjoyed the trails that are available. Everything was clean and well-maintained, and you can tell the owners (Matt & Cheryl) really care about keeping it that way. We loved sitting by the campfire at night, listening to the quiet, starlit nights and waking up to birds and sunshine in the morning. It was the perfect escape from the noise and rush of everyday life. It was a breath of stillness. Location is ideal as it is close to Watkin's Glen and numerous wineries on Seneca Lake. Matt and Sheryl were lovely. We didn't get in until after dark but they met us when we arrived and since no one else was expected while we were there they let us choose a site closer to the bathrooms. They gave us a tour even in the dark! Everything was cute and clean. They even have hot water.

The location was perfect! We were just a short drive from Watkins Glen, Buttermilk Falls, and Taughannock. The site itself was spacious, with full hookups and plenty of room for our two doodles to play. Tina was a wonderful host—attentive and friendly, checking in each day without ever being intrusive. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely camp here again!
