A low-key place to enjoy nature, rest, and reflect. The twin cottages at Hand’s Cove Orchard perch on the edge of Lake Champlain in Shoreham, Vermont. We are near historic Ticonderoga, and charming Schroon Lake, the Adirondack High Peaks area, Lake George, Lake Champlain, Middlebury and Burlington VT. The possibilities to visit Adirondack sites of interest are endless: river tubing on the Hudson River; visiting the Fort in Ticonderoga; seeing Olympic Village in Lake Placid, climbing any number of High Peaks, shopping or taking a sight-seeing cruise on Lake George, going horseback riding within 15 miles, dining, square dancing, shopping, or enjoying a craft brewery in Schroon Lake. The open secluded space provided was amazing and having firewood on site was top notch. Very beautiful view to wake up too and the trails were great and the trees was so beautiful. Would definitely come back again!! The host was great and showed us where our campsite was when we got there late, 😅 she was nice to wait up. They have hot showers which was great and a cute little farmers market where she had the veggies and eggs there to purchase. Plus there were cows there to see, so cute! Thanks again and would definitely come back again!!

My family (7 year old daughter, husband and dog) had the most wonderful time tent camping at the Hops site on Heather and Paul's beautiful farm. It's such a special, expansive place with so many cool spots to hike to within the farm that we didn't feel like we needed to leave the property. We loved the peace and privacy of the Hops site but next time we'd like to try to Oak tree site which has stunning views. My daughter loved drinking directly from the spring behind Heather's house, and visiting the pergola near dusk. The highland cows against the backdrop of rolling hills and the beautiful slate structures look like paintings. I'd definitely recommend taking the tour of the property to orient yourself. Heather is a lovely person and a knowledgeable and engaging host.

This campground is easy to park with a convenient bathroom and showers that are fairly clean. Toilets were cleaned both mornings. The last shower stall is large enough to get clothes away from shower area. The shower heads are intelligently placed facing toward the back wall and there was plenty of hot water. The washer and dryer are reasonably priced. We were there late in the season and they were doing some work with chain saws. Perhaps in preparation for the next season. Absolutely no managerial people spoke to us and the office was closed when we arrived. We just went to our reserved site.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful lake view cabin! The photos online truly don't do it justice—the place is even more stunning in person. The cabin was incredibly cozy, relaxing, and peaceful, with all the amenities you could ask for. The mornings were especially great, waking up to the beautiful lake views. We spent two nights here and every moment was perfect. The host was so friendly and welcoming, making our experience even better. As the first guests, we felt honored to be part of this gem's story. Stayed at the Oak Tree Site on Heather’s land and I can’t recommend it enough! The site the peaceful, secluded, and on the opposite side of the road and up the hill away from the main farmhouse and other sites. The site had a picnic table, fire pit, a grate to cook over the fire, a charcoal grill, and an outhouse. The site is an open area with a beautiful view of the Milky Way on a clear night. Make sure you’re driving a 4x4 vehicle up to the site - bit of a climb. Heather is a lovely host and is available for any questions or recommendations - lovely hiking trails onsite (go sit at the quarry!)

Amazing experience! The owl site felt very secluded, and it was fun to explore trails and the beautiful land. We heard the owls every night during our stay but couldn’t spot them:) Our pups swam in the leaf piles and the quarry, and kitty enjoyed overlooking the site on the picnic table. Everyone had a wonderful time. We arrived after dark due to traffic delays but Heather still welcomed us in person and lead us to the site. The farm stand is cute, and the shower really helpful for our slightly longer stay (4 days). Can’t wait to come back soon.

Heather provided us with the perfect getaway weekend! Her farm is so beautiful and she is a wonderful hostess! The Hops site was very private and peaceful. The outdoor seating and firepit made it so easy to relax and enjoy the fall evenings. The hiking trails that they have made are great to explore. We also took advantage of the outdoor shower which was such a nice experience. Even the outhouse was comfortable and meticulously maintained, and this is coming from someone who normally tries to avoid them. Last and certainly not least, we are still enjoying some of the home-grown/homemade treats from her farm stand, and cannot wait to return to Slateville. Thank you to Heather and Paul for such a great weekend!

Highly recommend Lake Lauderdale Campground! The owner was so kind - he even waited for us when we arrived late to make sure we knew where to park and to answer any questions. We had an amazing experience here and truly hope to come back in the future!

10/10!! Heather’s place is stunning and she was a fantastic host! She was quick to respond as needed and has a well stocked farm stand! The trails and the quarry were great additions to the experience. The oak tree site was perfect for us with the seclusion and the outhouse was clean! If staying at the oak tree site during hot weather, it may be best to pack a canopy for extra shade since the area is pretty open but we had perfect temperatures and didn’t need it! I would definitely recommend and hope to be back someday!

My sisters and I had an amazing time. We booked one of the tent sites for a long weekend. The sites were in great condition, everyone we met was incredibly friendly, the bathroom/shower area was cleaned daily. We couldn't have picked a better spot and definitely plan on going back! Also, if you love beer and dogs then hit up Argyle Brewing and all the cute shops right along that same main street in Greenwich, only a 15 min drive!
