A low-key place to enjoy nature, rest, and reflect. The twin cottages at Hand’s Cove Orchard perch on the edge of Lake Champlain in Shoreham, Vermont. The property has hosted guests in seasonal cottages since the 1960s. The organically certified orchard was last operated around 2007. Since that time, a good portion of the apple trees has succumbed to disease and crowding by native and invasive species, though many continue to thrive and produce fruit—supporting a healthy and diverse wildlife population. Excellent get-away experience. Exactly as described, put together by folks who are very practically-minded and resourceful. Total peace and privacy with very good comfort in primitive setting. Wood stove was key to cold winter nights, plenty of heating capacity to spare. Gas mantle lights are very nice touch as well. Host is immediately responsive and excellent communicator.

The sunshine cabin was cozy and perfect! We brought our pup Charlie and she loved being able to explore off leash. The property is absolutely beautiful. We will definitely be coming back!

The area is right in the middle of the forest which made for a fun drive and just a beautiful landscape. We got unlucky that the first night was uniquely cold and windy but the host was so great at trying to accommodate and keep us warm. She was very available and considerate. I would highly recommend this place for the scenery and the host!

Staying in Oma’s cabin was beautiful. The cabin feels handmade down to the smallest detail. You can feel the hosts’ Erin and Philip’s care in everything about the place. Excellent kitchen set up with everything necessary to cook meals and clean up. The stove kept the cabin warm and comfortable when it was cold and windy outside. Luna the dog came by to say hi. Fire pit is great for having a fire under the stars. Walking distance to a great hiking trail. Really just a perfect off-grid cabin in the woods.

We had everything we could have needed for any scenario we might have missed preparing for and everything was laid out and easy to access. What a beautiful and peaceful stay in Southern Vermont! The property is idyllic with a laid back and welcoming vibe and a stunning view for sunset. What an amazing find!!!! Super clean, well stocked, comfortable seating and bed. Beautiful location, was amazing to sit outside and listen to the stream, wander over to it and be mesmerized by the cascades. The wood stove heated the cabin right up and the fire pit under the night stars was another treat. Outhouse was clean and I loved the motion light that came on when you entered. Brought our 5 gallon jug of water and there is a shelf over half the sink to set it on and made cooking and clean up a breeze. Propane lamp lit the cabin up at night. Felt like we were staying in a luxurious Airbnb not camping as every need we had Rebecca had already met. Right down to the dog bed and treats for our dog. Highly recommend!!!

Our second time here! As beautiful as always despite the Nor' Easter coming through. So glad we chose to stay in a cabin this time because I don't know if we would've survived with the intense winds we got 😂. Beautiful remote location surrounded by hiking trails. Hosts definitely put a lot of care into the location and decor. Cute little outhouse and a firepit with a poker and chairs, everything we needed. Their son Noah especially helpful in getting us settled in and Stephanie was flexible with having us switch into a cabin last minute, since we accidentally planned our trip during an early Nor’easter. Nearby towns were cute and charming.

We really loved our time at the cabin. The property is easy to access and the setting is peaceful and quiet. The pond is a nice added bonus and our dogs enjoyed exploring the trails in the woods. What a great trip! The cabin was wonderful with the wood stove and such a great history there. The property was VERY secluded and quiet, a great pond for the dog to jump in, horses right in the meadow, and great trails right off rhe edge of the yard. A+ trip and hosts, well def be back!
