We are a well hidden jewel in the southwest corner of New Mexico. Our location is about 30 minutes north of Lordsburg ( I-10) just off Hwy 90. Driving north on Hwy 90 the terrain transforms from desert floor to rolling hills and oak trees. Shopping and sight-seeing can be had in the town of Silver City just a few minutes away. Quaint shops, restaurants, and nearly all the amenities of a larger city await you there. While you are here you can also access the Gila Cliff Dwellings or Catwalk near Glenwood. However we think you will be quite content sitting in one of our swings, or dangling your feet in the water, and watching for the wild waterfowl that frequent our pond. We also have a small gift shop filled with locally made southwest pottery, western art, fresh eggs and homemade baked goods. We'd be happy to give you a tour of our gardens and greenhouse where you can also purchase fresh vegetables for your next meal. Our overhead gate has a clearance of 13' 7". We allow all types of RV trailers and vehicles, living quarters horse trailers, vans, tents, tipis, etc. No age limit on vehicles or trailers. Our parking area is huge, and right next to our pond. The Historic L.C. Ranch can accommodate up to 5 RVs with full hookups & WiFi, including 3 sites with 50 amp electrical service, We are not accepting tent or car campers at this time of year. The L.C. Ranch was the second largest Cattle Ranch in American history. In its heyday around 1900 it was over one million acres. Today the cows are gone, along with the vast tracts of land and the cowboys that managed the herds. The Lyons and Campbell Ranch Headquarters remains as a time capsule of an era past. The extensive adobe compound includes the 27 room adobe mansion of Cattle Baron Tom Lyons and his wife Ida Campbell, along with the fabulous Old West Saloon, Jail, post office, bunkhouses, Theater and Chapel. In the summer months enjoy the great swimming pool, and in the spring and fall enjoy the Mimbres design hot tub. Our RV sites are closed in the winter, but our Airbnb apartments are closed in January only. The Theater has just added a video cinema system to its live performance capabilities. Think "movie night". There is a lot of history here, and for just $10/person you can take the 2 hour tour of the historic grounds. The L.C. Ranch is located in the tiny village of Gila, just 30 minutes from Silver City, right off U.S. 180 on NM Hwy 211. Learn more about this land: Near Silver City, New Mexico, the Historic Lyons & Campbell ranch is in the tiny village of Gila in the lush Gila river valley in the otherwise arid Mountain Southwest. Dog Friendly! (Cats? Not so much, better keep them inside your RV at all times). This massive 60 room adobe compound dates from 1810, is one of the oldest houses in the southwest and was a million acre ranch, the second largest in America back in its heyday from 1880 to 1920, and includes a museum, theater, Old west Saloon, Chapel, jail and two apartments "Inn at the L.C. Ranch" in Gila, NM, available for short term rental on a!rbnb. 5 RV spots with full hookups, AND Wi-Fi. 20 or 30 amp, are $40 per night for up to 2 people. 50 amp for $50 per night. Additional guests are $10 per night, and up to 6 people per site. Hook ups include sewer, electric, WiFi and water connections, and access to the swimming pool, Hot tub, Old west Saloon and Gallery. Two night minimum. Swimming pool is open May thru September, Hot tub is currently off-line due to rennovations. NO FIREWORKS! Please! We are relaxing our fire ban to allow charcoal or gas BBQs, and fully screened portable fire pits, if it is NOT windy. We do not supply these. There is plenty of firewood here, but you will have to cut/break it to usable size. Please be careful. The authentic old west Saloon, Historic Main House, Theater, Gallery, Jail are all available to tour, and for workshops, retreats, Weddings, groups etc. The two hour guided tour of the museum in the main house, the "adobe mansion" of Cattle Baron Tom Lyons, is $10 per person for RV guests. The swimming pool and Lanai are located near the Sunset Site, RV Site #3. It will handle any size rig, 65'+, 20/30/50 amp. Big fifth wheels, Class A or C Motorhomes, no problem. It is our only pull through site. The Lanai by the pool has BBQ, pizza oven, sink, refrigerator, music, games, croquet, darts... Site for Sore Eyes, #4, is a smaller site with 20/30 amp electrical service. It is a "back in" site suitable for Class C, CamperVans, and smaller travel trailers. The other two RV spots are a short walk away, about 150 feet. Site #2, Gemini Site is good for up to 65', pull in, perfect for any size Motorhome or big rig, 20/30/30/20 amp with a unique double rig pedestal that allows a second 30 amp rig to hook up at your descretion. It also has its own shaded picnic area and picnic table. 4" sewer connection. Site #1 has a full tree canopy over head, perfect for Class C or Travel trailers. "Back in" site, 20/30/50 amp, water, 4" sewer and wi-fi. The Mimbres design hot tub is located in the bath house between the two RV locations. It is wood-fired and available on request. (currently off-line due to rennovations) It takes all day to heat it up and it is NOT recommended on windy or freezing nights as it is quite exposed. There is also a bathroom with flush toilet at the pool, along with fridge, BBQ, Wood fired pizza oven, misters and bar in the Lanai, and a guest laundry with an indoor shower nearby in the Spanish courtyard. There are additional bathrooms in the Saloon and the Theater. Karaoke at night in the old west Saloon used to be a regular occurrence on weekends before covid, let's see if we can get that going again this summer. The Saloon is equipped for live music as well, with guitar and bass amps, P.A. and electronic drum kit. The Saloon as well as the entire property is BYOB. The Saloon is not open to the public and has no liquor license. We like it this way. Wi-fi is available at all our RV sites, and is best in the Saloon and Gallery. We have just installed new Wi-Fi extenders. Cell phone service is sketchy, some people with Verizon or T-Mobile get service. It's best on the observation mound. Discounts for longer stays...

Weekend Trip to Rancho Viejo

Had an amazing night at this hip camp. Bryon and Marilyn met us there they were so sweet and helpful. We really felt taken care of. It was super peaceful and private, beautiful star gazing spot! We also went into the nearby town of Silver City and had a great time the next day, I would definitely recommend doing that! Great food/art scene!

Great location. Flat, accessible sites. Was a perfect stay for us in our sprinter and my sister in her Class C. Loved the saloon and original historical house though we ran out of time to do the tour. Next time. Alex our host was fantastic, friendly and a fount of local knowledge. Highly recommend and will hope to stay again.

Alex, the owner, was great. Our site was under huge elm trees and therefore we had lots of shade. Alex’s 3 big dogs were very laidback and sweet. We took the 2 hour tour and were amazed at his knowledge of the Lyons, Campbell’s and the history of the ranch. The family has collected furniture, art and artifacts from all over the world which were amazing. The ranch is nice and quiet. The weather was rainy and therefore wasn’t conducive to a swim but the pool looked inviting. The wood fired hot tub and showers weren’t available when we were there but are a work in progress. The restrooms were a little primitive inside the saloon but were clean. Our grandson enjoyed playing pool inside the saloon. Understand that the ranch and buildings are very old and you shouldn’t expect it to be pristine. Consider it an experience not to be missed. I’d go there again and the tour is a must!

Weekend Trip to ESCAPE to the L.C. Ranch , Gila NM

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the L.C. Ranch over the 4th of July weekend. We had full, drive-thru RV hookups. We had access to the pool, toilets, a shower, and a washer and dryer, along with other amenities, if need be. The westward views from our spot were breathtaking. We enjoyed our pop-in visits every now and then from Alex's three dogs. Alex took us on a fascinating two-hour, historical tour of the ranch. We liked being close to Bill Evans Lake and the Catwalk. If you're looking for a place to visit a little off-the-beaten-path, this would be it. We definitely recommend a visit! Thanks, again, Alex!

Had a wonderful stay. all the necessary hookups were provided. Host was very friendly as were his dogs. We had one that came to greet us every morning and say good night every night. History was interesting wish we had time to take the tour. Enjoyed the pool, can't wait for the hot tub, will be back.

This place was amazing. It was truly the oasis we needed. Byron and Marilyn met us on site and gave us a tour. They are both so kind and down to earth. It was a pleasure every time we had a conversation with them. The property itself is meticulously cared for. There is shade, a fountain, a beautiful pond, and even swings over the pond. The view is breathtaking and there is so much privacy! We were lucky enough to be there on the night there was a lightning storm. It was an incredible sight! We will definitely stay here again because it truly felt like a home.

The best place to relax, rejuvenate and enjoy the peaceful views. The site is pristine and welcoming. The owners have made this a haven away from all the stresses. They are accommodating and kind. We enjoyed row boating in the pond and did a little fish watching. Don't pass this peaceful spot up when looking for your next camping adventure.

Bryon and Marilyn’s private oasis is the perfect location for an out door outing with the family. The campsite is spacious and private, The host's are kind and accommodating. The property is full of activities such as fishing, swimming, and most of all relaxing. Would highly recommend and will be returning.

The vibe, the host who is fantastic--the perfect combo of friendly and allowing space, the place itself, a beautiful old adobe ranch, some parts under renovation, with old roses in bloom. The setup worked well with good water, and electric and RV septic, all well maintained. I stayed in site 1, the canopy and it was wonderful to park under the massive elm trees. The dogs are very sweet. Highly recommend and do take Alex's tour if you can.

This was a great spot. Nice shade tree. Easy parking and not to close to the other site. The views were pretty and wide open. There was not much noise except birds and cows. Alex was a great host and we enjoyed the history tour the ranch. We even had a drink at the bar (BYOB) and shot pool!

As nice as it gets! The setting was wonderful, rural and next to a beautiful pond. Dark skies, full of stars, yet only minutes from Silver City. The setting is as quiet as can be as you are the only guest and no traffic nearby. The hosts are wonderful, engaging and meticulous about caring for their property. We will surely return, hopefully many times.

If you appreciate history and a quiet scenic place to stay this is the place. We feel fortunate to have experienced this special place filled with history. The buildings have endured many years of neglect, however through the dedication of the recent owner and his family they have taken on the task of repairing and reviving the past for future generations. It is a work in progress, but they have thoughtfully worked to create a time long gone. The Saloon is amazing and they turned an old delipapidated ice house into a stage theater. All of these are available to rent for special events. We had the pleasure of attending a chamber music concert, which was attended by local residents. We thoroughly enjoyed it along with meeting and chatting with some of the locals. We also took the tour, which is a behind the scenes look at the history of this place. There are a few RV sites with full hookups and accommodations available on airbnb. In the warmer months there is a pool, grill, and patio. There are no stores or gas stations, only a library & post office. If you are looking for the ultimate getaway from the hustle & bustle of life this is it. We highly recommend seeing and experiencing this special place while you can.

I found the site to be clean, level, quiet and safe. Yes you are near mobile homes and you might see an ant or two. I’m just not precious enough to find this to be a deterrent! I stayed over a week and enjoyed being visited by the local chicken gang every morning! Raven (camp host) was very friendly and welcoming. The price was very affordable for full hook ups! I’d stay here again!
