I also have a Vintage Camper that can be heated, has a kitchen, electricity and plenty of outdoor furniture with a fire pit and serene mountain views. As well as a monastic and very grounding Ensuite Bedroom, or a simple campsite if you want to bring your own camper or tent. All facilities have access to a guest bathroom inside the main house. I offer dog sitting while you soak at Ojo, healing modalities that you'll find in the Extras section, and my dear neighbor Jackie takes appointments for massages with homemade essential oils. +++ 6 miles to Ojo Caliente Hot Springs. There you will find the best restaurant in the area, with locally/organically farmed produce. The land is naturally and beautifully wild- it is not a manicured campsite. The dirt rd down to the property is best suited for higher clearance vehicles, but is manageable for city cars. With land by the river comes the mosquitos- June to August only. They are predominantly active during sunrise and sunset; long loose fitting clothes and a repellent work great. Waterhole, Waterfall and climbing sites near by, as well as Plaza Blanca, Abiquiu, Ghost Ranch and the Taos Gorge are 30 mins drive away. *No cell service in the greater area. WiFi reaches around the house/deck and allows for WiFi Calling: that’s a setting in your phone that enables phone calls & texts beside usual internet access.

Nearby Attractions: •Archuleta Mesa: Explore the mystical Archuleta Mesa, which has been featured on national TV shows for being known as the Dulce UFO Underground Base. Non-tribal members are not allowed to explore the reservation without a Jicarilla Apache member. You can drive from County Road 357 to Highway 84 towards Pagosa Springs, Colorado to explore the area. •Rio Chama River: Take a short drive to the Rio Chama River for fly-fishing, or simply picnicking by the water's edge. Chama is also a great place to grab some delicious New Mexican food! •Carson National Forest: Embark on hiking trails through the Carson National Forest and discover the diverse flora and fauna of the region. •Jicarilla Apache Cultural Heritage Center: Visit to purchase authentic Jicarilla Apache baskets, beadwork, and artwork. •Pagosa Springs Hot Springs: Pagosa is in Colorado and is about a 48-minute drive from the tipi’s location. You can take the main Highway or County Road 357 to get there. The County Road is known to the locals as the “shortcut”. Either way, both routes are very beautiful. Other things to note Important Information: •This is a semi-remote and off-grid location. Please be prepared for a rustic experience with access to electricity inside the tipi. We recommend bringing a cooler with food and drinks. •Respect for the land and its cultural significance is of utmost importance. Please follow any guidelines or restrictions provided by the local Jicarilla Apache Nation. •Note that the weather in the mountains can be unpredictable, so come prepared with appropriate clothing and gear. Extra blankets, if you get cold easily. •Please be aware of wildlife in the area.

Traveling cross country for 3 weeks, I have stayed at a few places and this is one of my favorites! The location is beyond beautiful. Creekside with foot bridges, tipi had everything I needed and MORE! The cows and horses were fun to watch and the hammock next to my tipi beside the creek was so relaxing. I could actually see the Milky Way. Lastly the hosts were so friendly and helpful. Bringing me extra firewood for the awesome stone fire pit I forgot to mention that has beautiful wooden rocking chairs. It’s beyond amazing and unbelievably priced.

I love this land in the Tusas Valley - the sounds of elks bugling, coyotes calling, and the Rio Tusas running nearby... Deborah is such a personable and attentive host but never intrusive. The restaurant her family owns over in Tres Piedras is a treasure too. I have stayed in both the yurt and tipis, and they are clean and fitted out with everything you need. Me and my dog were happy to return

4 nights at PR Ranch - Fly Fishing

This is a little secret I hate to let people know about. We were the only ones camping this week. We had the entire place to ourselves. We ran into the owner and 2 ranch hands a couple of times, but besides that we were all alone. The owner and ranch hands were extremely nice. The fly fishing was top notch. I fished for 3 days and caught 15-18 inch trout every day. The river was maintained very well. We were here the first week of October and the colors of the trees was unbelievable. My wife wanted seclusion, river, and colors. I wanted fly fishing. We got everything we both wanted. I want to visit this ranch again.

Beautiful spot on the river! County rd next to it but is rarely used. I did have some families of Amish drive by in horse and buggy. Good fishing. River was low but I managed a handful over a day and a half, one 18”. Height of leaves changing and so colors were amazing. Great hosts. Provide all firewood too!

Such a beautiful place. The views are in incredible. We could see the Milky Way and shooting stars at night by the campfire. Listening to the creek and watching the cows and horses was so relaxing. The campsite was well provisioned and comfortable. When Deb said all you need to bring is yourselves and your food she wasn’t kidding. Wonderful, friendly hosts! The nights were cool but we were warm enough with the campstove and covers provided. After a drive one day we ordered carry out from the Chili Line Depot which was so good we stopped in again for breakfast the day we left. Chili Line had helpful friendly staff, too. We hope to visit this amazing ‘Glamp’ site again in the spring.

Weekend Trip to Viento Del Rio RV River Campsite

This site is right on the river bank and is super peaceful. We did not have any problems with bugs. The site is set up with full hook ups as well as a little patio with a fireplace and seating. J & T met us upon arrival and were very friendly and informative about local things to do. Getting out was a little tricky (our tt is 27’) but not impossible. We’ll definitely be staying again!

Really fun weekend staying at this tipi! Our super nice hosts were very friendly and the tipi was very nice. We took our bikes and road some forest roads nearby and spent time just hanging out by the creek. It was a great upgrade from car camping and we'd love to come back!

Weekend Trip to Viento Del Rio RV River Campsite

The camp spot is beautiful and has a great patio area to view the river and local wildlife. We saw blue heron and geese fly the river. The hosts are very friendly and the letter they provide gives a lot of local information. The site now has 30 Amp service and water. I don't believe it had that when we originally booked. Since there is only one spot you are guaranteed some privacy and quiet time. The site is almost absolutely perfect. Things to consider when booking this site. The site is right next to a river so there are bugs. Small nats and flys were prevalent at night swarming around lights. Our screens didn't stop the small nats. This is to be expected as you are near a river and not at Disney. Another is the road to the site has a few humps and dips in it, so if you have a weight distribution hitch you should probably disconnect the bars before going down that final stretch. Also, even though we have a relatively short trailer (19 feet) it took a little work to get out of the site. Nothing to stop us from booking again, but I am glad we have a relatively small trailer.

The place was stunning and the hosts were great people! We will definitely be back. Would recommend this stay to everyone. It was so nice to be able to bring our dogs with us a not have to worry about them being on leash the whole time. They had everything we need as well and the set up was great.
