The owner-occupied residence is tucked away from the road with only one neighbor in sight. We live in a 1987 geodesic dome home on the property. Additionally, our self-converted 2002 International Blue Bird school bus is parked here. There is plenty of room for you to park in the circle driveway or to the left of the dome. Enjoy our large, fenced backyard with plenty of room for activities. We have yard games available (Yard Yahtzee, Spikeball, Molkky, lawn darts, and more) and you're welcome to bring them to the beach. Crab traps, fishing poles, and a cooler are available too. Weekend Trip to Island Getaway

We loved the island and La Mar was an amazing host. 5 of us spent a weekend on the island. If you have no experience canoeing, be prepared. Being from NYC, we are inexperienced and it took us an hour to row the mile to the island against the tide. if you can get your own power boat to take you there, it will make life a whole lot easier. definitely a challenge, but it was amazing once we made it. The island is relaxing for a weekend. You also get to do some fishing, though we didn't have much luck in October. also - low tide is really low tide. don't plan on going out until the tide comes in a bit. I would recommend taking lots of firewood and a portable toilet. I can't say enough about how communicative and accommodating La Mar is. We're already talking about our next trip.

Weekend Trip to Island Getaway

As a quick getaway we booked La Mar’s island. It’s pretty well kept and has a large campfire area overlooking the water. Easy fishing from the island as long as it’s not low tide. Lots of space to camp with multiple tents if desired. You’re able to watch bald eagles and other wildlife, we even saw an otter. The only downfall is you can hear the highway all night long. I would definitely book again for a quick getaway!

It was a wonderful experience. We went there to spend the weekend and we absolutely loved it. The island was very well maintained and had enough privacy. Even though we could hear the highway noise it didnt bother us much. And being a bird watcher myself, i was overjoyed by seeing the wildlife around this area including ospreys and bald eagles.We spent entire day fishing in kayak and photographing birds. And LaMar was awesome host and was very responsive. He went above and beyond to help us with the trip. Would love to come back !

My teenage son and I stayed at Janissa’s amazing place for one night and it was lovely. As campers we had our gear but needed a couple things like electric and a safe serene place to stay. We had this and more and highly recommend you meet Janessa and Jesse…and the chickens! It was a quick stay and a bit to hot for us to make a campfire which had complimentary wood fire. That is a nice treat! Janissa showed my son and I her custom built skoolie which is awesome! Very cool vibe, a nearby swim lake with restrooms to freshen up and everything fun is close by. Hope to see you guys again and thank you for a great stay🙏🏻⛺️🌞

Quiet...you're deep in the back of the property with plenty of space and natural blockage that you don't even know you're in someone's yard. Host was friendly, and left us be. We travel that area frequently, and usually stay at a state park... Yeah, this was much better!!! It's is a no-hook up site... We had our generator going pretty much the whole time, no issues.

Very cozy spot, open space and private. Lots of fresh natural wood to burn, and a really nice opening in the trees to look at the stars. Very accommodating host, especially as we had some delays and got there after sunset. Highly recommend, would stay again!

Beautiful sanctuary on the Jersey shore! I arrived late, but the dome home was easy to find, my camping spot for the night was really beautiful grass area, shaded off the street, and I was able to plug in and settle in for the evening. The property is wonderful, and I received recommendations for my stay that were dog friendly as I travel with my pup. I will definitely return When in the area. !!

4 nights at Camp Bike and Beach!!

Very Beautiful & accommodating property. Right off the Georgetown Lewes bike trail. It is a 6 mile bike ride to downtown Lewes. Less than 1/4 mile to Hopkins Farm Creamery, definitely suggest visiting the creamery. Redner’s grocery store & gas as well as ACE within 5 minute ride. Had a great trip and would definitely recommend.

4 nights at Island Getaway

An absolutely wonderful stay. It was private and relaxing. If you’re a bird watcher, this is the place for you. We saw eagles, osprey, blue and white herons, and several other types of birds. Our three dogs loved running free and being able to swim around. The shower was a luxury we didn’t know we needed. LaMar shared some history behind the island with us and was a pleasure to talk to. We’ll be back.
