Camping here at the hostel is a great option for those who are looking for the economic price point and rugged nature of camping, while still having the amenities of modern living. "What should I expect my experience to be like?" Being a hostel, the experience we offer is a community focused one. Sites are setup similar to rooms in the hostel. They are located in fairly close proximity to one another and feature (in addition to private fire pits in the sites) one large community fire ring at the center of the property. Parking and camping are located at the rear of the Hostel property. Out back features several campsites, a community fire ring, picnic table, and charcoal grill. Parking is first come, first serve, but there is plenty of street parking available along Washington St (Summertime street parking. In winter, town hall may be used as overflow parking.). Amenities: The hostel is yours to access. Use the back porch and side entrances (Access code will be given to you during check-in). Inside you’ll find… Full community kitchen, bathrooms, dining area, and lounge area. Dorm style bathroom facilities on the second floor have two toilets and shower stalls each. Townsend's son, Nick, foresaw a devastating development of conventional homes that would diminish the soul of this sacred land that held so much magic. So, Nick decided to move back to the homestead to create an example of what a healthy life for the land and its inhabitants looks like. HipCamp was the first step towards sharing and opening up the land to create an ecofriendly, Intentional lifestyle. One in which we hope to share our way of being that brings awareness to the natural world we have fallen so far from. Nick and his tribe of like minds are creating a holistic, educational, retreat, workshop, and event center where people can come to learn how to co-exist in a harmonious relationship with nature and each other. This is a 200 year old farm filled with life. There are well groomed areas and other more wild areas. We are on almost 13 acres of land that attracts all forms of natural wildlife. In addition, we have alpacas, pigs, sheep, dogs, a cat and chickens. There is a beaver pond on the lower property. The beavers used a piece of land that was made into a bowl shape by a glacier. Each site includes a place to sit and eat (ie. picnic table), fire pit and just breathtaking views. Campers can drive into and park at their site. Each site is separate and private from other sites. We are 15 minutes from Highland Mountain Bike Park and Bank of New Hampshire Pavillon and 10 minutes from Laconia. We have two outdoor showers that are very rustic and open and the water is the temperature of the surrounding air. This is an active farm that has an operating butcher shop on the premises. We have a farm store offering a variety of items for sale including eggs, honey, rubs and much more. There is a microwave available to the campers in the farm store as well. Each site will be given a bundle of fire wood on the house, additional wood is for sale. You are welcome to participate in farm work. Coffee (from a local NH roaster), tea, hot chocolate and potable water (from the faucet) will be available daily. We are a farm family with young children so large and rowdy or drinking parties are very heavily discouraged. We are located in central New Hampshire right next to a pancake house. There are hiking trails, Lakes, mountain biking, water park (coming soon), e-biking and more within a 15-30 minute drive.

This is the perfect spot to camp if you're looking to hike Mount Washington or explore the many trails close to the property. PLEASE make sure you come prepared with the proper camping gear! You MUST bring a tent or RV for camping. Our campground is suitable for nature lovers or outdoor enthusiasts. We take incredible care of our land - it is not suitable for parties! PLEASE NOTE, we prefer arrivals before 9 pm, so please communicate what time you will be arriving with us beforehand :) We purchased this farm over a decade ago. Mike being a lifetime resident of Jefferson is very familiar with the local surroundings and attractions, we take pride in our community. We enjoy farming and gardening. We are blessed to have the opportunity to share this beautiful land with others that will hopefully enjoy it as much as we do. We are always working to enhance the property for a better camping experience.
